Author's Note

Hello Everyone,

As you all know author's notes aren't usually my thing. I generally like to launch right into the story. However, this story is a little more sensitive than some of my other stories because it talks about the old south, slavery, and plantations. I think it is an important story to tell, and I will do my best to do it justice.

The idea for this story came from a recent girl's trip I took with a friend coupled with the fact that I have a grandfather who was listed as 'colored' in a 1920 census. I think many of us share the same roots; a fact that is easily forgotten. I would have loved to talk to that grandfather and learn more about my roots, but that was not an option afforded to me.

Please take this story for what it is, a romance and not a political statement of any kind.

Please let me know if I do write something insensitive or hurtful. I don't wish to be either and will do my best to address any issues you feel need to be addressed.

That being said, if this story becomes too much of a conflict for you, dear readers, I will cease writing it and begin on another. There is enough stress in this world today and I don't wish to add to it for any of us.

I would also like to add that this is a second generation book and it is a stand alone, but if you would like to start at the beginning, Save the Last Dance would be the place to start.

Please enjoy and comment often!

Here we go!

Sarah-
