I woke up and sat up quickly, holding my head. Another one of Mirror Maru's migraines. Why wasn't i getting any before? This one is worse than normal. What is happening to me?

I couldn't sleep like this. I had to clear my head. It's so dark, but i don't want to use Mirror's powers...She might try and take over. Before i had any longer to debate, the crack on my arm and face expanded. I keeled over, gripping my head even harder, as if that'd help my migraine. When i opened my eyes, i could see in the darkness. My eye is glowing...again.

I sighed and stood up. At least i can see now. I meandered my way over to the balcony. I sat up on top of the railing, seeing as I would get hit with more cool air that way. I pulled out my phone and started scrolling through social media, and spotted one of Serenity's Snapchat posts from earlier in my feed. It was a picture of the four of us at dinner, her with an arm around Mark's neck and her hand resting on my head, and Jack was in the back, with his head between mine and Mark's, and his arms over all of out shoulders. She had captioned it "dinner with the squad." What a goof. I chuckled to myself at this, and just as I liked the post, a head with all blacked out eyes and fangs popped into view, upside-down right in front of me. I immediately recognised the entity as anti.

"Hello!" anti said, his voice glitching. I yelled, startled by his sudden appearance and jumped out of surprise. But my yell soon became a scream as I fell, surely to my death. As I fell, another scream joined mine.

"MARU!!!" I heard in Serenity's voice. I saw her reach over the edge, clearly thinking she of all people could bring bring me back up. Then all of a sudden, the cracks over my eye and arm hurt intensely as she wheeled around and tried to hit Anti, just before he disappeared. And suddenly everything hurt, like I was being torn to bits, then I was in the room behind them, just in time to see Mark and Jack bolting out the door. Serenity was nowhere to be seen. She must have already run out there before them. Wait, if the other two are with her, and I'm up here, instead of down there... they'll find out! I concentrated as hard as I possibly could, and suddenly my eye was glowing again, and my whole body hurt. This time wasn't as bad as the last time. Then I was down by the closed pool. Close enough. I looked around for my phone, and spotted it on the ground where I would have died, and it was shattered. I felt sick to my stomach.

LiKE yoU!

Shut the fuck up Mirror! I mean, you did save me, but fucking stop with the stattering thing! I get it okay? I was about to continue lecturing her when i heard someone scream my name.

"MARU!"

I turned to see Serenity running full-speed at me, with arms outstretched. She hopped over the small fence around the pool like it was nothing and practically strangled me, Jack close behind, and Mark being the straggler. I could barely breathe through the layer of people..

"IAMSOHAPPYHOWTHEFUCKDIDYOUDOTHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!" Serenity was speaking at full speed as she continued to squeeze me to near death.

"Ack! Sera..Y-you're crushing me."

"I am so sorry!" she had a weird look on her face as she let me go. "How did you do that though? You were falling and I tried to catch you and i couldn't but you aren't dead how the hell did-?"

"Serenity. Breathe please."

Serenity nodded and took a deep breath. I still felt sick.

"Look, i don't even know what happened exactly."

Sera opened her mouth to speak but was cut off by Mark. "Let's get back upstairs. The pool is closed anyway."

"Sure. Let's get back." I felt Mirror Maru's power acting up again.

Mirror??? What the hell do you think you're doing? They'll find out!

ThAt'S NoT Me. It'S YoU.

How is that me? How do I control it?!

CaLm DoWn. It'Ll PaSs.

I don't know why I'm trusting you, but I am.

I sighed and hopped the fence. Or at least I tried to.

"Can't get over anymore. I don't know how I did it before. Maybe adrenaline?" god damn it! If it's gonna be this obvious that i didn't just waltz in here, then i may as well be dead.

"I guess. Here." Serenity lifted me over the fence with ease.

"Jeez you're strong!" I said as she put me down on the correct side of the fence.

We walked back up to the room, Serenity keeping insanely close to me the whole time. Oh boy. Now she won't leave me alone about this will she?

PrObAbLy NoT.

Great. When we got to the room, I sighed. I was still feeling sick. It didn't get any better when Serenity spoke.

"Do you know what happened?"

"Sort of." I said, being as blunt as possible.

"Look, this is all just really weird. We've all been up late, and i'm almost positive that's why. As long as everyone's okay, i don't really care who or how it happened."

"Hmmm..." Serenity just looked at me, and I could almost hear the gears turning in her head. "Alright, I'll believe you, but I think we need to talk. Privately."

"'Kay."

We all went back upstairs, Mark instantly flopping onto his bed and immediately falling asleep again, Jack sitting back on his bed, and Serenity and I going out onto the balcony, closing the sliding door behind us.

"So," she began, "I overheard your conversation with Jack earlier."

"Huh?*

"Before you went to sleep. He told you about Anti. Why wouldn't you tell him about Mirror?"

"Because... wait a second. If Anti is real, doesn't that mean that Dark is real, too?"

Serenity bit her lip, thinking. "That's... something you would have to talk to Mark about when he wakes up."

"So do you know, or not?"

"Stop avoiding my question."

"But do you know?"

"Your logic is sound..."

I crossed my arms. "Now who's avoiding the question?"

"I do know, but it's up to Mark to tell you anything, since that's his business."

"Then that's why I don't tell Jack about Mirror."

"Huh?"

"It's my business to deal with her, not his. It's my burden, and no one else's."

Serenity was quiet for a minute. "Yeah, I respect that. It's your information, it's up to you to share it."

"I'm glad you're being reasonable for once." I really was. Normally she would have just persisted until all of us knew all of each other's secrets.

"Whatever. Let's just go back in."

I layed back on my bed, sinking right into my pillow. It was really comfy.

"Still tired?" Jack asked.

"Yeah," I replied. "By the way, how do you manage to not fall asleep walking, of you don't sleep at night?"

"Coffee. Coffee is always the answer. COFFEE IS THE SAVIOR OF ERRYTHING! PRAISE BE THE COFFEE GODS!" he threw his hands above his head.

"Heh." I rolled over, and fell into an undisturbed sleep...
