-Jasper POV-

She was quiet, looking down at her feet.
I didn't mind not talking. It was hard to control my bloodlust.
History was the one subject I had alone, so it was the hardest to control.

'Why did Alice persist that I showed her the way?'
I glanced behind me and saw her covering her hands with her long sweater. She was nervous.
'Well it is her first day, but she feels so scared'

"It's here" I said and she nodded.
"Thank you" she said quietly and walked to the teacher.
"Emma Marshall?" asked the teacher and she nodded. "Welcome to Forks. I'm Mr. Diaz, history teacher. How's your first day going?"

"It's fine, sir. Everybody is really nice" she said.
"Hey, isn't that the new girl?" I head a student whisper.
"Yeah, I heard she had an episode or something. Crazy if you ask me" said another student.
'Idiots, you didn't have to be an empath to see she was terrified'

"Well, I see here you excel in history. Do you like it?" asked Mr. Diaz.
"Yes sir, my mom loved talking about history. It was her favourite subject" she said and smiled.
She was trying to look normal, but I could feel that she was scared and nervous.

To be honest, it was overwhelming for me. I didn't understand how she could stay standing like that.
"Well, you can sit next to Mr. Hale. Just like you he excels in history" said Mr. Diaz and she nodded.

She walked over to my desk and sat down next to me.
"She looks weird" I heard a girl say and Emma looked up. She began to feel sad...
She grabbed her book and set it on the table.
It was getting hot inside the classroom, but she kept her sleeves on her hands.
"Okay, let's talk World War 2" said the teacher.

Emma was paying attention to the teacher. She wrote good notes and every time he asked a question, she wrote down the correct answer. But she never raised her hand.
But then... I suddenly smelled blood. I grabbed the side of the table and tried to calm down.

"Eh, Mr. Diaz? Lizzie has a nosebleed" said a student.
I covered my mouth and nose.
"Are you okay?" it was Emma. I looked at her and my focus went to her.

The blood didn't smell so strongly anymore... Emma her breathing and her heartbeat were soothing, and her blood didn't smell so strongly.
"I'm fine, just not a big fan of blood" I said and she nodded.
'Who is this girl?'

When the bell rang, Emma took her bag and left the classroom without talking to anyone.
Her feelings were overwhelming, but she looked fine...
"Jasper!" I heard Alice shout. She ran to my locker.

'She must've seen something...'
"Are you okay? I saw that a girl in your class got a nosebleed..." she said, she didn't need to say more. She had seen me lose control.

"Yes, I'm fine, Alice" I said and looked around for a sign of Emma. "Emma, she talked to me, noticed I wasn't well. And it calmed me down"
"Really? It's hard for me to see her future. But I'm happy you managed to control it" she said and smiled. "Emma seems nice. I like her"

-Emma POV-

I found Bella, I had been on edge the whole time. The whole day I could feel that cold feeling. It really didn't feel alright.
"So, how are you?" she asked and I sighed.
"Weirdly, okay. Everybody already thinks I'm the towns new crazy person" I said. "But I just hope that they all leave me alone"

We went to the secretary, before going home.
We saw Edward Cullen trying to switch classes.
"Every class is full" said the secretary to Edward. "Just a minute, dear"

'Why do the Cullens all feel like death?' I thought and Edwards eyes snapped at me.
"I'm afraid you'll have to stay in biology" said the secretary.
"Fine. Just... I'll just have to endure it" said Edward and walked past us.
I grabbed Bella's sleeve, he scared me...

Bella suddenly turned around and walked out of the room.
"Are you okay, dear?" asked the secretary and I smiled.
"Yeah, just a bit jumpy. First days are scary" I said and she smiled.

I ran outside, but I ran into Alice.
"I'm so sorry" I said and she chuckled.
"It's fine, Emma" she said.
"No, I should've looked where I was going" I said.

"Are you okay? You look like you're on edge" she said and I looked into her golden eyes.
"First day jitters, probably" I lied.
'I couldn't possibly tell a girl I just met she feels cold and like death, now could I?'

"I get it. If you want someone to talk to, I'm happy to listen" she said.
"Thank you, but I'm more of a lonely kind of person" I said and she smiled.
"I won't pressure you, but if you want to talk, I'll listen" she said and went to her family. They all stared at me, it made me feel uncomferteble...

I saw Bella by the red truck and walked to her.
"Alice also went after you this afternoon. Are you okay?" asked Bella.
"Yeah, she just wanted to make sure I was okay. She seems nice, but..." I said and Bella looked at me. "Never mind, it's just in my head. Don't worry about it, Bells. How was your first day?"

"Well, Edward acted weird when I sat next to him in biology. I think he thought I smelled or something, and when the bell rang he basically stormed outside" she said. "And then he tried to change classes? I mean, I just wanted to ask what his problem was"

"Maybe you can ask him tomorrow" I said and she nodded.
"Are you okay? We can always look at a doctor here, to make sure you're okay" she said and I sighed.
"I'm fine, Bells. I just need time to get used to everything again. Every doctor will say the same thing" I said and got inside the car.

"But you haven't been sleeping well. Maybe we should get some sleep medication?" she said and started the car.
"Those don't work for me, I've tried it. There's nothing more that can be done" I said and looked outside.
We passed the Cullens and I saw Jasper looking at me.

-Jasper POV-

When we got home, Carlisle sat us all down together, but Edward was gone.
"Okay, Edward needs some time for himself" said Carlisle.
'It's that girl Bella, a bloodsinger' I thought. 'It's a miracle he didn't go off at her'

"Now, he did tell me about the other new girl as well. Emma Marshall?" he said and I looked confused.
"Edward said that he read in her mind we feel like death to her" said Esme.
"What? How can she know?" asked Rosalie.

"I once knew someone who could feel what we are. Maybe she's like her" said Carlisle. "What does she look like?"
"She's small, beautiful blue eyes and greyish hair. But she said she colours it. Oh, and she has the cutest British accent" said Alice.

"Greyish hair? British? I wonder..." said Carlisle.
"Mereleona?" asked Esme and he nodded.
"Edward also said that when she had an episode, he saw someone with red eyes in her head" said Emmett.

"Well, she didn't say we were vampires. So she probably doesn't know what it all means" said Carlisle. "Just, keep an eye on her. I'll try to find my friend, maybe she'll know more"
"What is your friend?" I asked.

"A Banshee. They can sense the supernatural, but they sense death the most. Their scream is quite unpleasant" he answered. "But we mustn't jump to conclusions. For now, let's just keep an eye on her"

"That won't be easy" I said and they all looked at me. "Her feelings are quite overwhelming. She's keeping it together for now. But she might go off at any second"
"No problem, I'll keep a close eye on her" smiled Alice. "She and I will be great friends"

-Emma POV-

Charlie took us to a diner.
"I just can't get over how grown up you are. And so gorgeous" said the waitress.
"Hey, Bella" said a strange guy. "You remember me? I played Santa one year"
"Yeah, Waylon, she hasn't had a Christmas here since she was four" said Charlie.

"I bet I made an impression, though, didn't I?" said Waylon.
"You always do" said Charlie.
"Butt-crack Santa?" laughed Bella.
"Hey, kids love those little bottles though" said Waylon.

"All right, let the girls eat their garden burger, Waylon" said the waitress and looked at Bella. "As soon as you're done, I will bring you your favourite. Berry cobbler, remember? Your dad still has it. Every Thursday"
"Thank you, that'd be great" said Bella.

"You want some too?" she asked me and I shook my head.
"No, it is very kind of you though. Thank you" I said and she smiled.
The rest of the dinner couldn't be more awkward...

I sat in my room, making some homework I got on my first day.
I heard Bella talk to her mom, it made me happy but also sad.
I missed my mom so bad...

"That's great, Emma! I'm so very proud of you" my mom said and looked at my drawing that had won first prize in a competition.
"Really? I drew the roses from the garden" I said and smiled.
"They're beautiful, darling" she said and kissed my forehead.
"Next time, I'll try to draw you, mom" I said and she chuckled.
"I'll be honoured" she said.

I looked at the picture of me and my mom. I dried a tear that had rolled down my cheek.
"Mom, I miss you so much" I whispered.

I closed my books and laid down on my bed.
"What the hell is wrong with me?" I sighed.
'Maybe I should go talk to a doctor or something...'
