I think Bella was trying to get Charlie drunk before introducing him to Edward...
"Hey, got you another one" said Bella and put down another beer.
Charlie was cleaning his gun... "Thanks" he said.

"I have a date with Edward Cullen" she suddenly said.
"He's a little old for you, isn't he?" said Charlie and I snorted.
"Jasper Hale is taking Emma too" said Bella.

"Snitcher" I said and rolled my eyes. "Jasper and I are friends. We're all juniors, Charlie"
"I thought you liked the Cullens" said Bella.
"I thought you didn't like any of the boys in town" said Charlie.
"Well, technically they don't live in town" I said.

"Well, he's right outside" said Bella.
"He is?" asked Charlie and looked at me.
"Oh, Jasper is there too, would you like to meet him? He is a bit socially awkward" I asked.

"Yeah, Edward wanted to meet you, officially" said Bella.
"All right. Bring them in" said Charlie and loaded his gun.
"Could you be nice?" asked Bella. "He's... he's important"
Charlie drew a circle over his head like an angel.

Bella came back with Edward and Jasper and I walked over to him.
He looked uncomferteble so I took his hand. He looked down at me and relaxed a little.
"Chief Swan" said Edward. "I want to formally introduce myself. I'm Edward Cullen"
'Old fashioned...'

Charlie looked at Jasper and I squeezed his hand
"I'm Jasper Hale" he said.
"Hi, Edward, Jasper" said Charlie.
"Bella and Emma won't be out too late tonight" said Edward. "They're just gonna play baseball with my family"

"Baseball?" asked Charlie unbelievably.
"Yes, sir. That's the plan" said Edward.
Charlie chuckled. "Bella's gonna play baseball? Well, good luck with that" he said.
"We'll take good care of them" said Jasper and we went to the cars.

We arrived and Jasper gave me his jacket.
"So, why does there have to be a storm for you guys to play baseball?" I asked him.
"You'll see soon enough" he teased and kissed my forehead.
"I will laugh at you if you miss" I said and he smirked.

"I never miss darling" he said.
Bella and Edward arrived as well.
"It's good that you two are here. We need an umpire" said Esme.
"She thinks we cheat" said Emmett.

"I know you cheat" said Esme, which made me smile. "Call them as you see them, girls"
"We'll do our best" I said.
Soon I saw lightning and Alice smiled.
"It's time" she said.

Alice was the pitcher and she threw so fast that I could hardly see the ball...
"Okay, now I see why you need the thunder" said Bella.
Rosalie hit the ball and it went long... really long...
"That's gotta be a home run, right?" asked Bella.

"Edward's very fast" said Esme.
While Rosalie was running, Jasper was showing off his skills with his bat. It made me chuckle.
Rosalie slid in but Esme caught the ball.
"You're out" said Bella and Rosalie looked at me.
"Sorry, barely out" I said and she was mad.

"Out! Whoo!" shouted Emmett, but Rosalie looked angrily at him. "Babe, come on. It's just a game"
Next up was Carlisle, Jasper came closer to me and hugged me from behind.
"So, what do you think?" he asked.
"Not bad, not bad at all" I said and let my head fall on his chest.

Emmett and Edward jumped in the air to caught the ball, but they jumped into each other, so Carlisle scored.
"My turn darling" said Jasper.
He kissed my hair and walked up to the plate. I looked at Alice who was smiling at me, which made me blush.

Alice pitched and Jasper hit it really hard.
But Emmett jumped climbed in a tree and caught the ball.
"My monkey man" said Rosalie.
Jasper walked back and I tried to hold in my laugh.
"Good try, cowboy" I said and he smiled.

After a while Alice looked scared.
"Alice? What's wrong?" I asked.
"Stop!" she shouted.
I felt three more vampires coming...
"Emma?" Jasper touched my shoulders and I looked at him with worried eyes...

-Jasper POV-
"Alice? What's wrong?" asked Emma and I looked at Alice, who looked scared.
"Stop!" she shouted.
I felt fear coming from Emma and when I looked at her, her eyes were glowing a little.

"Emma?" I asked and touched her shoulders.
"They're coming" she said and her eyes turned back normal.
The family gathered around us and I closed up the jacket I put on Emma earlier.
'I know her smell isn't strong, but I won't take any chances'

"They were leaving. Then they heard us" said Alice. It were the nomads who had been feeding on people lately.
"Let's go" said Edward and grabbed Bella.
"It's too late" said Carlisle.

"Rosalie" I said and she looked at me. "Look after Emma"
"I will" she said and grabbed Emma's wrist.
"Jasper? What's going to happen?" asked Emma.

I touched her face. "Don't worry darling" I whispered. "Don't look at them, they'll notice your eyes. Stay close to Rosalie, she'll protect you"
"Jasper? I'm scared" she whispered.
"Everything will be fine. Don't worry" I said and stood in front of the family.

I was one of the strongest, so to put up a front, the strongest ones of the family stood in front.
"Get your hair down" said Edward to Bella.
"Like that'll help. I could smell her from across the field" said Rosalie.
"Rosalie" said Emma. "It's the little things that can help"

The three nomads came. 2 men and a woman.
The black male held up our ball. "I believe this belongs to you" he said and threw the ball at Carlisle, who caught it.
"Thank you" said Carlisle.

"I am Laurent" introduced the black male. "And this is Victoria and James"
I didn't like the look of James his face. He looked like a predator and he was looking at Emma.
"I'm Carlisle. This is my family" said Carlisle.
"Hello" said Laurent.

I calmed their emotions so that they wouldn't be so hostile, but James wasn't easily influenced.
"I'm afraid your hunting activities have caused something of a mess for us" said Carlisle.
"Our apologies. We didn't realize the territory had been claimed" said Laurent.
"Yes, well, we maintain a permanent residence nearby" said Carlisle.

"Really?" said Laurent and looked at James, who was still looking at Emma and Bella... "Well, we won't be a problem anymore. We were just passing through"
"The humans were tracking us, but we led them east. You should be safe" whispered Victoria.
"Excellent" said Carlisle.

"So, could you use three more players?" asked Laurent. "Oh, come on. Just one game"
Carlisle sighed. "Sure, why not? A few of us were leaving. You could take their place. We'll bat first" said Carlisle and threw the ball at Laurent, but Victoria caught it.
"I'm the one with the wicked curveball" she said.

"Well, I think we can handle that" I said.
They all laughed.
"We shall see" she said and turned around.
But James kept staring at Emma and Bella.

The wind blew in Bella's hair and her sent was overwhelming.
"You brought a snack" said James and we all stood in front of Bella.
"A human?" said Laurent.
'They haven't noticed Emma yet, good'

"The girl is with us. I think it best if you leave" said Carlisle.
"2 snacks, pretty blue eyes" said Victoria and went after Emma.
"Emma!" I yelled.
