Hello and welcome to the final chapter of The Bad Girl Sleeps In My Bed. This is it. This is the end. There won't be an epilogue or a sequel for anyone asking. This is the end of Hollie and Levi, they story is finished.

I'm so sorry for the emotional pain I'm about to cause you because this chapter sure caused me a ton of pain. But I hope you'll like the end either way and won't come attacking me with forks. And please respect my decision to end the book this way.

I'll take a small break from writing now that this book is done but I'll start posting chapters to my new book Unraveling Rosen very soon so if you like my writing, check out that book! The first chapter will be uploaded on March 12th since that's my birthday lol.

The video up there is How to Save a Life by The Fray. I listened to that song on repeat whilst I was writing the chapter and I have to admit that I cried a few times.

Hope you'll like the chapter.

Thank you for reading my book and for all the wonderful comments you've left me.

The Bad Girl Sleeps In My Bed ❁ Chapter Twenty

3RD PERSON POV

Both Hollie's and Levi's parents rushed to the hospital as quickly as they can. Upon entering, they notice Diego and Cole sitting at the waiting area, Diego brushing his fingers through his hair constantly as Cole keeps biting his fingernails, drawing blood from them already.

No one knew what was happening at this point. They had gotten no information from the doctors or nurses, they just had to wait and see what would happen. Diego kept thinking what his life would be like if either Hollie or Levi died. He has known Hollie for a few years now and she's his best friend, along with Elise. But he has known Levi for only a few months. He doesn't know anything about him but he's still here, worried about the awkward boy who somehow managed to blend into their group.

Cole imagined all of the good times he had with Levi in his head. The two of them were best friends and Cole low-key hoped that something happened to Hollie and Levi was all right. But he didn't know that all of his dreams would be crushed in a matter of minutes.

Levi's doctor walked down the hallway, bracing himself as he was about to deliver terrible news to the young boy's parents that their 17-year-old son had died. Even though Dr. Smith has had a lot of patients, he still felt terrible every time he saw parents crying. That was the worst part of his job and he hated every moment he has spent, delivering terrible news to the patient's relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Szepanowski stood up as the doctor walked out. They held each other's hands, their hearts beating a million beats per second as they waited for the news to be delivered. Diego and Cole stood up, along with Hollie's parents as the doctor approached them. Hollie's father placed a comforting hand on Levi's mom's shoulder, showing his support to them. Hollie's mother held onto her husband's shoulder tightly, her nails probably leaving small imprints on his skin.

"Mr. and Mrs. Szepanowski?" The doctor asked and Levi's parents realized they were about to receive either terrible or happy news. Dr. Smith took a deep breath to calm himself down. He then opened his mouth to say the following words: "I'm terribly sorry but your son's injuries were worse than expected and he died during the surgery. I'm very sorry."

Cole slowly sat down, a million emotions running through his body as he heard Levi's mother breaking down, the sound of crying filling his ears. Diego took a step closer to Cole, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder as he held back his tears.

"Where's our daughter? Hollie O'Connor?" Hollie's father asked.

The doctor looked confused, "No one by that name was admitted tonight. We never had a patient with that name tonight so everything must be fine with her."

As the doctor said those words, Hollie came running out of nowhere. Her hair was soaked, water dripping down her clothes. Her eyes flickered to Cole, Diego and then to Levi's parents and she realized what had happened. She immediately knew Levi didn't make it.

Diego ran up to her and embraced her in a tight hug. "He's dead," Diego whispered. "Levi didn't make it."

Upon hearing those words, Hollie's world came crumbling down. She felt numb. She didn't feel a single emotion in her body. Both her parents ran up to her and hugged her tightly, happy that their daughter was alive and well.

"Is he really dead?" Hollie squeaked, her voice breaking.

"I'm so sorry, honey," Hollie's mom whispered, soothing her daughter's hair. "He didn't survive the surgery, but we're so happy you're alive."

"I should be dead right now," Hollie cried. "He took three bullets for me. I should be the one lying dead somewhere, not him. He should be alive and enjoying his life. This is all my fault," she murmured, tears streaming down her face. Diego wrapped his arms around Hollie as she cried on his shoulder. Levi's mother took a few steps closer to Hollie to comfort her as well. Both of them had entered a deep stage of grief, not knowing what to do now that they're favorite person in the entire world has died.

Cole didn't say a word as he stood up and walked out. He couldn't breathe there. His airways felt closed up and he couldn't get the oxygen he needed. His best friend had died and they were barely on speaking terms. He hated himself for what he had said to Levi. His best friend was happy with Hollie and he couldn't accept that fact. He didn't understand how his best friend could take away his happiness by being with Hollie but now he did. Levi was happy with her. And now he was dead and Cole had no way of apologising to Levi. Levi had died without an apology from him.

And Cole didn't know if he could live with that.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Levi's funeral was held about a week later. Only his closest family members and friends were invited. Hollie was still in a stage of grief and depression. Her heart ached every time her mind drifted to Levi. She still couldn't accept the fact that he was died. Deep down Hollie hoped this was all a prank and Levi would appear out of nowhere and laugh with her as he tells her it's just a prank and everything's okay with him.

But she knew that wouldn't happen.

Levi Szepanowski was dead.

It was the day of the funeral. The funeral was held in a small chapel near Levi's house. The whole place was decorated in white flowers and picture of Levi were placed around the casket. Hollie hasn't looked at Levi's dead body once after receiving the terrible news. She didn't think she would be able to. Hollie knew she would break down in tears the moment she saw Levi's dead body.

After smoothing her black dress once more, she joined all the others during the funeral process. Levi's parents stood near the casket as people walked up to them and told them their condolences. Hollie stood next to Diego and Elise, staring at Cole and Victoria, who stood at the other end of the room. Levi's mother walked up to Hollie before giving her a small hug.

"Have you looked at Levi's body for the final time before he's buried?" She asked and Hollie shook her head.

"I don't think I can," she admitted. "I don't want to break down in tears once again."

Diego took her hand, "It's okay to cry. It helps to relieve the pain. Come on, I'll be right by your side the entire time."

The two of them took steps closer to Levi's casket. Hollie felt her knees weaken. She grabbed Levi's casket as Diego took a few steps back to give them some privacy in the moment. Hollie looked at Levi's dead body, a thousand emotions running through her mind.

Levi just laid there, his eyes closed and his face solemn. His skin had lost its color and he looked like a dead person. Even though he was dead, Hollie had never seen someone who looked so at peace. She swore she saw the corner of his mouth tugging into a small smile but she knew her mind was just playing tricks on her. She grabbed Levi's hands as a small tear rolled out of her eye. Just to make sure he was dead, Hollie placed her hand over his heart, hoping to feel a heartbeat.

Nothing.

There wasn't a heartbeat.

"I love you so much," Hollie leaned in to whisper into Levi's ear. "I hope you know that."

She frowned when there wasn't a reply. Of course she wouldn't get a reply from him, he was dead for crying out loud. Hollie felt Diego taking her hand softly and guiding her away from the casket. The ceremony started as everyone sat down in her seats. Hollie didn't look up once, she kept playing with the edge of her dress, rolling and folding it into different things.

"And now, a word from Hollie O'Connor."

She stiffened when she heard her name being called. Diego squeezed her hand as she stood up, taking small steps towards the podium. Hollie's eyes flickered to everyone staring at her. Her palms grew sweaty as she took a deep breath.

"I will always remember Levi. Even though our friendship recently started blossoming again, I've never felt so happy being around someone before. Levi was such a wonderful person. His soul was pure and just beautiful.

I never expected him to die so soon. I thought we would have an infinite amount of time together left and we'd grow old together. Maybe I would've even had a chance to get my shit together and attend the same college as him. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him but now I can't. I remember walking up to his house, my clothes completely soaking wet and I probably looked like a mess and I hadn't exchanged a single word with him in years but he didn't hesitate to offer me shelter and take me in. I could feel myself falling in love with him every time I was around him.

The night of the attack is still clear in my head. I saw Levi running towards me to protect me but fate had different plans for him. I felt my heart stop when he was shot, I didn't know what to feel. My whole world came crumbling down as I prayed that everything would be okay with him. But now, here we are.

He's lying in a casket and I'm trying my hardest not to break down in front of everyone."

Hollie took a breath to calm herself down.

"I love him. I will always love him even if we didn't have the chance to confess our love to each other. I would give anything just to have a few more minutes with him. I truly miss him and I doubt I will ever find someone as lovely as him. My heart is forever yours, Levi. Rest in peace, baby."

Hollie stepped away from the podium as Diego walked up to her, helping her back to her seat. The ceremony went on but Hollie couldn't breathe in the room. She stood up and ran out of the church as quickly as she could, taking a deep breath as she felt oxygen entering her lungs once more.

Diego and Elise walked out a few seconds later. Both of them hugged Hollie as tears poured out of her eyes again.

"Everything hurts," Hollie admitted. "My heart hurts."

"Shhh," Elise whispered. "Everything will be okay."

"You'll be okay, we'll make sure of it." Diego said.
