I woke up Saturday with my arm under my head. When I opened my eyes the first thing I saw was my bracelet.

I must've forgot to take it off last night. I play with it. Spinning the beads around. I didn't expect to get it back so soon but you can't expect anything when it comes to Noah.

Speaking of... how many text did he actually send. I pick up my phone off my nightstand. My eyes go wide.

'and 134 other messages'

What the actual frick?! 135 messages from the same boy in one night! Why?!?!?

"Ugh" I grumble and lay my head back down, facing the other way. What am I gonna do?

———

I knock on the door. I figured I could bring Courtney some chocolate and pain killers. Her parents don't buy them specifically because of this. They said something about learning a lesson or whatever.

That doesn't stop me though. They're not even home right now so it's even better. I hear footsteps and then the door opens slowly, revealing a messed up looking Courtney.

"Was it fun?" I ask her in a teasing way.

"I don't really remember," she lets me in and closed the door. "I think I did body shots off of another girl. And then something with me on the roof. That's all that comes to mind. That and this killer hangover." She says rubbing her head.

"Here," I hand her the pain medicine. "For your killer hangover." I hold out the box of chocolates. "And this because I'm the bestest best friend you could ever have."

She takes the box and I go to her living room. She follows me. That's just how it is. I'm basically family here.

"I would run to you and hug you but I don't think that's a good idea." She says, scrunching up her nose.

I do the same and shake my head. "No not a good idea but I appreciate it." There's a minute of silence as we sit on a couch and she pops two pills in her mouth. "I actually came here to talk to you about something."

She stops what she's doing and looks at me. "Well this can't be good." She mumbles, I don't think she wanted me to hear that but I did. "I'm all ears."

"I was going to tell you Monday but I just can't wait."

And so I told her everything. I even told her about Noah and the bracelet and the hospital visit. She just sat there eating chocolate and taking everything in.

"Oh my gosh," she finally says when I'm done. "I don't even know what to say, I mean, are you okay?"

I chuckle, "Yes I'm fine."

"So that's why you can't come to parties."

"Yep."

"And you don't even dance."

"Yep."

"And I've been going to parties when you can't and I've been a horrible friend."

"Ye - wait no you're not a horrible friend. You didn't know and it was my fault. I don't even wanna go to parties and get wasted and possible get STDs."

"Are you sure?" She says with worry laced in her voice.

"I'm positive. Look, just don't treat me any different then before and we'll be fine." She gives me a look. "I promise."

"Ugh, fine. Who all knows?"

"Besides family and doctors, you and Noah. I haven't told Adam yet but I don't think he's gonna want me to come over after a party like yesterday's."

She laughs, "Oh yeah you should've seen him. Mainly because I can't remember. I'll have to ask him Monday what happened. I lost him right when I got in the door."

We laugh and then after it's just silence. Then Courtney speaks up, "I can't believe you didn't tell me about Noah. Like I'm more hurt about that then everything else."

"Oh yeah, look." I get my phone out of my pocket and unlock it to Noah's 135 messages. I turn it around and show her. I scroll through them not giving her time to read but just to see how many there are.

"Ooooh girl. Somebody's got a crush." She winks at me.

"Um no. No, no, no. We barley know each other!"

"Then why are you getting so defensive? Hmm?" She raises one eyebrow at me.

I stay quiet, not trusting my mouth to say anything that's not stupid.

"Exactly! He likes you and you like him! It's that simple," she says. Then she gives me a look. I don't know what look it is but I don't like it.

"What is that look? What are you thinking?" I am honestly scarred.

"What look?" She feigns innocence.

"Stop playing innocent!" I get off the couch. "I'm gonna go before you get any ideas." I tell her, putting my phone in my pocket.

"Alrighty! I can still have ideas without you!" She says with way too much happiness.

"Bye Courtney, don't do anything I wouldn't do." I open her front door.

"Mhmm, with me you'd do anything. Bye!" She practically pushes me out the door then slams it shut in my face.

Well then. Now that that's over I can go home and sleep.

The walk home is about 30 minutes but that's okay. It's a bright warm day so it's perfect for walking.

I get a text message so I look at it. Seeing it's Mama I text back. Looking down at my phone and texting seems to distract me and I can't walk straight.

Accidentally walking into the road, I almost get ran over. Luckily the person wasn't going fast and swerved around me.

Me being me I jumped back and tripped over the sidewalk, falling on my butt. The truck stops and I don't pay attention to who gets out.

I grip my ankle and squeeze my eyes shut so I don't cry. I think I twisted it.

The person jogs over to me and bends down.

"You okay?" I look and for the first time pay attention to the person. Noah.

"What the heck?!" I yell at him. I take my hands away from my ankle so he won't know I hurt it.

"You were the one who walked in front of me!" He yells back at me.

"I know!" Wait what?

"Exactly so why are we yelling!"

"I don't know!"

"Seriously, are you okay?" He asks again with what I think is worry or concern on his face.
