"By choice, we have become a family, first in our hearts, and finally in breath and being. Great expectations are good; great experiences are better."

- Robert W. Fischer

Ivy Lynch has been babysitting practically her whole life. She is known around town, getting job offer after job offer. It helps pay for the debt she's already drowning in for school. The summer before she leaves for college, she receives an offer to be a full-time nanny for the Kennedy family while the mom goes on a mission trip to Haiti.

Unable to turn down the job due to the promised payment, Ivy agrees to spend her summer living with the Kennedy family. All of the kids are adopted, excluding the oldest son Elliott.

Elliott Kennedy is known as the rebellious boy from Ivy's high school. He hangs out in the wrong crowd, always getting into trouble with the law. His mom doesn't trust him enough to take care of his siblings for three months.

Whether embarrassed about having a nanny or just plain rude, Elliott says little to no words to Ivy in the first week of her stay. Earbuds in and scowling face on, Elliott stays in his own world. Ivy ignores his rash behavior and focuses on the other kids, allowing Elliott to do whatever he pleases with his life.

He ignores her; she ignores him.

A lot can change in three months.

AN:

I finally took the leap.

Alright, now, onto the topic I have been dreading to discuss. The bad boy/good girl aspect. Yes, this story will be as such.

I think I'm entitled to write at least one story with this plot, right?

In my opinion, bad boy/good girl stories aren't "basic" and "predictable" over any other story. I mean, when you read a love story, you know who will fall in love because THEY'RE THE MAIN CHARACTERS! you don't know whether they'll end up together in the very end or how they end up together and the journey they go through and that's why you read it.

rant over.
