His lips are warm against mine as they move in sync, his arms tightening their hold on my waist and my hands immediately go around his neck and into his hair. My whole body feels like it's igniting with fire as we continue to kiss, his hands lowering down to my hips before he lifts me off, our lips breaking contact for a moment as he places me on the kitchen counter.

As soon as our lips reconnect, his tongue desperately asks for entrance which I grant him as my lips part, our tongues rejuvenating, making me moan as he pulls me closer. He deepens the kiss and my hands tug at the root of his hair, a moan escaping his lips which sends a strong shiver down my spine.

"Chris.." I gasp as I part for air and he breathes, his forehead coming to rest against mine, his eyes shut closed.

"Fuck." He whispers, making me frown as he opens his eyes.

But when I do, there are emotions swirling behind them, vulnerability dripping his expressions as he studies my face for any trace of regret as I do the same.

None.

There isn't a single trace of regret in his eyes as he leans down to press his lips against mine again, my eyes closing shut as he kisses me for another minute. When we do part, our chests are heaving up and down as we stare at each other.

When he doesn't say anything for another minute, I take the hint that he wouldn't be speaking up first. So with a feeble voice, I start, "Hi."

Immediately, a smirk takes over his features as he stares at me with amusement twinkling in his eyes, "Hey." He whispers.

"So, what was that about?" I ask, biting down on my lip and he shrugs.

"Wanted to do it from a long time."

"Uh-huh?" I pull him closer and he nods with a smile before kissing me again.

God, I could literally die from his kisses.

He parts after a second and then stares at me, "You know, I can never un-hear my name from your lips." His thumb comes up to trace my lower lip.

"Jay." I whisper and he shakes his head at me, a stern look in his eyes so I smile, "Chris."

He nods his head, "We need to talk." He says and I sigh.

"Kissing sounds better." I suggest and he smirks.

"That can happen after, according to how the talk goes." He says and I sigh, retracing my arms back to myself.

"Talking is the worst part of this." I point out and he takes a step back, immediately making me miss the warmth of his body.

"The sooner we do it, the better." He says and I groan. "Don't be a baby, come on, let's talk in the living room."

I nod, sliding off the counter and making my way to the couches, I plop down and he comes to sits besides me. Unexpectedly, he takes my hand in his and I gulp, noticing how his hands aren't soft because of how he plays basket ball but they still feel so warm against mine.

"So.." I trail off.

"So?"

"I like you." I blurt out and he turns to me, surprised.

If we are going to talk about this like adults, I might as well be honest with him than lie about how I feel. Adam's voice rings in my head and I sigh, he was right. I can't keep letting go off other things because I am holding on too tightly to something that's never going to happen.

Chris sobers up quickly, "I know." He says.

"Don't be cocky." I grin at him, making him laugh.

"Okay, but I had some idea about it. The only thing that confused me was that you're in lo—"

I cut him off before he can continue, "Two different things, Jay. I can't ignore this because of that." I motion between us and he nods as if he understands but I know he doesn't, it's clear from the grimace on his face.

"Okay, what do you want to do then?" He asks and I shrug.

"You tell me?" I ask back because I am confused as fuck.

"I.." he trails off but then runs his free hand through his hair before continuing, "I want to take you out on a date, if that's okay with you." He says and I immediately smile.

"Yeah, I would like that." I tell him, receiving a smile in return.

"But what about him?" He asks and I shrug.

"What about him? He has a girlfriend, Jay, and he doesn't feel the same way. And before you ask me if this is a rebound thing, no, it's not. It's me trying to let go of something and holding onto something." I explain, trying my best to make some sense through my words.

He nods, "I hate that, you know?" He closes his eyes.

"What?" I ask.

"That you feel something for him." He whispers and I scoot closer to him.

"Yeah, sometimes I do too." I tell him honestly, because it's not easy to cover up the pain from the world and hide behind the sarcastic comments.

"You really wanna do this?" He asks, searching my face for an answer so I lean down and place a kiss on his lips.

"Yeah.. If that's what you want. Any time you want to stop, we stop." I tell him, not wanting him to feel obliged to put up with me.

He shakes his head, "We gonna tell anyone?" He asks.

"It's upto you. Your reputation is at stake, not mine." I grin and he shakes his head at me. "Also, we are done the moment I take another bowl of food on my head for you." I tease and he laughs.

Was it supposed to be this easy? My whole life I have had feelings for one person who never reciprocated them, and now, suddenly when I started having those similar feelings for someone else, it surprised me that he felt the same way. But, was it this easy?

If someone likes you, and you like them back, you give it a chance, is that how this really works? Because it seems kind of unreal, especially because the person in concern here is Chris. I trust him, I really do but I have also seen him make out with different girls in the school hallway before he started dating Caitlyn a few months ago.

I sigh, not letting my thoughts get to me as we spend the rest of the time watching television before Dad comes home and Chris tells me goodnight.

The next morning, I wake up with a smile on my face which surprises me because I have been waking up with tears stained cheeks recently. I sigh and move to dress myself, just settling on a rugged jeans and a full sleeves black tshirt.

Breanna is waiting for me in the driveway so after telling Dad bye, I rush to her car. So, I really shouldn't have been smiling ear to ear as soon as I hopped in because she shot me a curious look.

"Anything I should know about?" She asks and I shake my head.

"Nope."

When we reach school, we make our way to the lockers and almost everyone is there, including Chris. Melissa is standing by his side and I immediately glare at her, feeling Chris's eyes on me when I open my locker to pull out my Calculus textbook.

"Hey, An." Evan moves to give me a hug which I return with a smile on my face.

"So, what did we do have her highness here this morning?" I point to Melissa causing almost everyone to laugh.

"Jealous." She mutters and I roll my eyes.

"What do you have that I need to be jealous of?"

"Him." She points to Chris and my eyes shift to him.

He's staring at me with a blank expression. I know I told him it's upto him if he wants to tell everyone that we are giving whatever there is between us a chance, but that doesn't mean that he can have girls he makes out with around and show them off on to my face.

I avert my eyes from him. I hear Chris turn to Melissa and he looks at her, "Leave." He says and she frowns at him.

"What?" She tries to laugh it off.

What is he doing?

He shakes his head before stepping towards me and before I can even blink, he closes any distance between us, leaning down to kiss me.

Fuck! I immediately kiss him back as his hands cup my cheeks, warmth from his skin radiating off to mine. He pulls apart, leaving me dazed as I stare up at him, "Jealousy is my least favourite look on you." He mutters before stepping back and walking away.

"Holy shit." Jordan curses and I realise that the asshole just left with everyone still staring at me.

Now I have to answer everyone! Nice move, Chris.

"So, anything I should know about?" Breanna repeats her her words from this morning.

"So.. umm. Yeah.. that happened." I try to comprehend a full sentence and Luke laughs.

"Speechless Adrianna is my new favourite." He chuckles.

"Shit. Seriously?" Jordan looks at me with a huge grin on his face and I nod, a small smile on my features.

I turn to look at Evan, afraid to see his reaction and I am not surprised when I catch him glaring at me. I open my mouth to say something but he just holds up his hand before turning around and walking away.

"He'll come around, don't worry." Breanna keeps her hand on my shoulder and I nod.

"I'll see you guys later." I say before running after Evan.

I barely catch his arm before he jerks me off but I give him a stern look, "Come on!" I say, motioning for him to follow me and his jaw twitches. "Please." I beg and he curses under his breath.

He motions for me to take the lead and we make our way silently to the old gym. As soon as we enter, he bursts out.

"Seriously, Adrianna? What the fuck?" He asks and I immediately close my eyes, gulping. He used the full name, he never ever does that!

"I can explain." I whisper.

"I know I said I need time to figure my feelings out, I know I said that you shouldn't hold back for me, and I still mean that. But Chris, out of all people?" He shouts and I move to keep my hand on his mouth.

"The voice echoes in here, shut it." I tell him and he sighs under my hand.

He nods before moving to sit by the stairs and I do the same, taking a seat by his side. He's fuming, taking deep breaths and I test the waters as I keep my head on his shoulder and he immediately sighs.

"What were you thinking?" He asks, rubbing his face.

"I like him." I gulp and he turns his head to stare at me.

"For real?" He asks and I nod. "Shit. I should've trusted my gut, always knew something was going to happen between the two of you." He mumbles.

"Why are you so mad?" I ask him, genuinely concerned and curious.

He sighs, his eyes roaming around the empty gym, "Instinct, I guess? I care for you, An and I love you, you know that. I have always been protective of you and knowing that you are dating an asshole just doesn't help."

I stare at him, opening my mouth to argue but he gestures for me to shut up. So, I just listen to him.

"The last person I expected you to date was him, and what happened to no PDA? Watching the two of you was as painful as it can get without having to punch him like I did with Finn and Adam."

I smile at the memory. He definitely punched both Finn and Adam after they started dating me. His words went like, "That's for dating her, now guess what I would do in case you break her heart."

And he messed up Finn's face pretty well after he heard that he was cheating on me. "First of all, Chris is your teammate, so you shouldn't be saying shit about him." I point out.

"I call an asshole when I see one." He argues and I sigh.

"We aren't even dating yet. I mean, I know we like each other but I am not sure how it'll work out." I tell him and he nods.

"I don't care how much of an amazing basketball player he is, I am going to disfigure his face if he makes you cry." He mumbles and I laugh at the irony of Evan making me cry the most.

"We should head to the class." I say and he nods.

"Just for my sake, keep the PDA to minimum?" He says and I grin at him.

"Sure."

We make it to the class and Mr. Mathew eyes the two of us, "Why are you late to the class?" He asks.

"I forgot my spectacles at home." I say and Evan immediately chuckles, shaking his head.

"And?" Mr. Mathew asks.

"He was my ride from home so I made him turn around, and then I got my spectacles." I say, making Evan snicker so I pinch his side making him yelp and he immediately shuts up.

"Next time you are late, you'll get a detention." He tells us both.

As soon as his back is to us, Evan laughs out silently and I hold in my laugh as I smack him at the head. All this while, I feel a glare directed at me and when I look at the back of the class, Chris's murderous glare is at the two of us.
