"You remember where your classes are?" Hunter asked passing me my bag.

"Hunt, it's ok," I laughed, "I'll find someone that has the same subjects as me and then I'll get lost with them."

Hunter stared at me, "I'm walking with you to your first class since I'm helping."

"Won't that cause rumors?" I asked locking the door.

"What? Teacher and student, sweetheart?" He smirked and I nodded.

"I've had worse." Hunter shrugged.

"Well I haven't."

"Bad girl never liked a teacher?"

"No. I just never acted upon my..."

"Fetish?" Hunter offered.

"No. Eww, that's just gross."

Hunter slung his arm around my shoulder, "I'm starting to doubt your bad girl image, sweetheart."

-

"I'm assigning your first project today." The class groaned, "Due next Friday. Mr Maddox will hand out the task and I'm expecting great things from you amateurs. Just kidding, I don't expect much. Class dismissed." Professor Jones said passing Hunter a stack of papers.

Hunter walked along each row handing out papers, the girls who sat on the edge of the rows were obviously flirting and I started at them.

"Jealous, sweetheart?" He asked handing me a paper.

I rolled my eyes, "In your dreams Hunter."

"Mmmh, you have been in a few of those lately." And winked, turning to continue up the rows.

I felt a presence beside me and a faint whisper reached my ears, "You know him?"

I turned to look at the voice, "Yeah."

"You're lucky," the girl laughed.

"Not really."

"Don't lie, sweetheart." Hunter cooed resting his arms on my desk and the one behind me, "Hunter Maddox." He nodded a greeting towards her.

"Cassandra Clark. Friends call me Cass."

"It was lovely meeting you, Cass." The poor girl was charmed by Hunter and her cheeks turned a deep red.

"A pleasure meeting you both." Cassandra got up and left. She didn't even ask for my name.

"I don't have class till later and I doubt you do either so wanna grab a coffee?" Hunter whispered in my ear.

"Is it a date?" I joked, turning around to face him but I was so close I could feel him speak.

"Only if you want it to be?" He smirked.

"No thanks."

"You sure you're not majoring in rejection?" I didn't answer him but instead grabbed my bag and prepared myself to leave, "It's a date then, sweetheart." And he left me sitting there, watching him leave.

I ran down the stairs trying to catch up to him, "Hunter, you really have to start working on your 'asking-on-date' skills."

"I'm just making it easier for you. So you know, you don't have to feel embarrassed that you want to go out with me." He made random gestures with his hands and then slowly snaked his arm around my waist. I didn't have a comeback for his comment so I just rolled my eyes.

-

Cassandra was in all my other classes as well. We sat next to each other in all the classes because, well at least my reason being, we didn't know anyone else.

"I'll give you my number so we can arrange a study time when exams start later on or if you wanna run ideas past each other for papers. Or even if you just wanna get to know each other." Cassandra said handing me a piece of paper with her number on.

"Thanks, Cassandra." I smiled back at her, glad to have a potential friend.

"Please. Call me Cass." She offered, standing up to leave.

When I'd left my class, I found Hunter leaning against the wall, "You sure do take you time, don't you sweetheart?"

"Don't you have class?"

"Had a lesson with your dad and he said since my research was done, I could leave." I started to walk past Hunter and I could hear his heavy footsteps behind me.

"Where you going, sweetheart?"

"Well, Sky invited my for an early dinner with Ty at their place? So I'm going home to get ready. You?" I asked blandly even though I knew exactly what he was doing.

Hunter was smirking, "Ty invited me too."

-

"Em, you took him to the open mic?" Sky asked sounding slightly hurt.

"You told him where I was." I laughed.

"No. I didn't." Sky looked surprised.

"Hunter?" We both said in unison, turning to face him.

"What?" He said through a mouthful of food. He looked almost innocent, looking up to me through his eyelashes.

"How did you know where I went?"

"Who cooked this? It's absolutely perfect." He said pointing to the Mac 'n Cheese with his fork.

"Oh, thanks Hunter. I did." Ty smiled.

Hunter scowled, probably not the person he was expecting.

"Don't try change the topic." I said putting my fork down.

"Hunter, I suggest running. She put her fork down." Sky whispered.

The comment made me smile but when I turned my attention back to Hunter I made sure I looked angry. I wasn't though, because when I had previously told Skylar the story, she told me the exact same thing, so her and I made a plan to get Hunter to admit it out loud.

"Did you follow her, dude?" Ty asked, also in on the plan.

Hunter scowled.

"I'll take that as a yes then." Ty laughed.

Hunter must've taken it a bit more seriously because the next thing we knew, he was out of his chair and out of the door.

"I'll go speak to him." I offered getting up. Neither of them stopped me, "Thank you for dinner though."

The situation reminded me slightly of what happened at my dad's house, except I was going after Hunter this time.

Hunter wasn't outside the apartment when I'd left. He sure did move fast so I turned the corner in the direction of the elevator, hoping he'd be at our apartment. When I'd turned the corner, two strong arms cornered me, resting on either side of my face.

"I don't like being embarrassed, sweetheart."

"Honestly, I'm flattered that you followed me, Hunt." I smiled trying not to show how his close proximity was affecting me.

"I didn't follow you."

"What do you mean?" I asked surprised.

"I just happened to be late that evening and asked the old man not to tell you."

It took me a few moments to understand what Hunter meant and him staring down on me and how close his body was to mine, was not helping my concentration. The confused look on granddad's face, the whispers between the two and how Dave knew so much about him already.

And then I understood, "How come I've never seen you there before?"

"I always sit backstage but when I saw you, I decided to be a customer coming to support you."

I remembered Dave asking whether he'd see Hunter next week and that his name was already in the book. I don't know how I missed it.

"Hunter? You sing?"

"You're not the only one with musical abilities, sweetheart."
