Everyone's eyes set on her and I feel like the time stop and freeze everything around us.

Mia likes him.

She likes Ashton.

A foreign feeling slowly crawled up my chest. I feel like I have a sudden heart congestion and I forgot to speak as I saw Mia hastily wiped her tears. Steve pulled out a chair next to Mia and tenderly squeezes his twin's shoulder and gives her a half hug.

Then my eyes moved to Brett.

Brett's head casted down and his breathing heavy. I could imagine violet glows coming from him just like in Japanese movies. The revelation must be a slap for him right on the face.

"Sorry I lied when I told you that I don't like him," Mia sniffed. "But if you truly like him I guess I can't do anything about that."

"Hold up," Easton turned to me. "Why didn't you tell us that you were dating Ashton? You've said it before that you don't have boyfriend but you should have at least mention that someone was courting you."

Before I could utter a word Brett beat me up and spoke. "That's because it was a fake. They're not really in relationship." He said his voice strain. I think I just saw Easton's eyes twinkled.

"I feel betrayed." Mia mocked, sending glares at Brett.

"Since when did you like him?" I asked Mia.

She blushed. "Ever since I could remember."

"Mia..." Steve whispered.

"I'll guess you despise Victoria simply because she's Ashton's girlfriend? You clearly is jealous." Luvelle said for the first time.

Mia huffed. "Hey! I hate her guts too."

"But if," Mia said stressing the if word. " if ever the time comes that you two will be together, I will not be the jealous bitch to oppose and do everything to break you two."

"Martyr." Brett mumbled pushing his chair angrily and stormed away.

"What's his problem?" Mia scowled, tearing her gaze away from Brett's retreating form.

Easton coughed awkwardly as Steve creased his brows questioningly. I heard Luvelle gushed,"I smell something fishy."

I sighed and stood up. "Excuse me." I said and followed where Brett go.

I went out the diner and saw him at the side of the building facing the wall. As I moved my way towards him I gasped when I noticed his hand coated with blood.

"Cheese sticks! You're bleeding!"

I grabbed his hand but he immediately pulled back. I cringed when I looked up the wall with red stained of his fist then on his hand dripping with blood.

"Brett," I whispered soothing his back. "You can't just fist bump the wall for they aren't friendly."

"Seriously, Ann?"

I shrugged. "Just want you to feel better. How- how are you feeling? Does it hurt? Of course it hurts now let's get you to the hospital."

"No medicine could mend what I feel right now." He mumbled, his voice cracked at the end. "I chose to be blind even though I knew her infatuation toward that cad. But hearing her admitting it hurts me shitload." He looked up and his eyes are pooling with tears until he can't hold it anymore and the tears are falling freely. It's my first time to see Brett cry and the pain in his eyes is so contiguous it made me cry too. Oh my poor Brett. I embraced him in a hug.

"Tell me, Ann." Brett mumbled at the crook of my neck. "Tell me how can I unlove her?"

~•~

My alarm clock rang. I groaned. I grope the noisy thing and put it into snooze mode. Ten more minutes, I said to myself.

For the second time the alarm clock rang and I put it into snooze mode, again. Another five minutes.

After five minutes I felt something clammy licked my cheek. I peeked one eye and squint when the Saturday morning rays hit my face and when I finally adjust my vision I found a hairy thing sitting on my bed, its tongue sticking out. I smiled at my baby. "Good morning to you too Scooty." The cute animal barked at me softly.

I removed the covers off me and I lumbered my way to the bathroom. After washing the sleep out of my face and brushing my teeth, I pulled my bird nest into a bun not bothering to comb it.

I climbed down stairs and I frowned when I can't smell my mother's delicious pancake. "Mom?" I called. "Dad?"

I went to the kitchen and found no one but a piece of sticky notes pressed on the door fridge. I recognized it as my mom's slovenly handwriting.

Have overtime sweetie, Sorry:(

Of course. When she say overtime she mean they'll not come home until tomorrow evening. I crumbled the paper and shot it in the trash. Cheer up, I say to myself. As if I'm not used being in solo. I grabbed Scooty's dog food and poured it on his rack then went to the cupboard and cooked my own breakfast. I am not like those chicks who can't cook for themselves because in this house if you don't know how to cook you'll die in starvation in the corner. So I've learn the skill to survive. Plus, way back in my old school technology and livelihood education is one of my favorite subjects.

I sat on the stool and I ate my meal silently.

A lonely weekend for a boring girl.

I looked around the big house and sighed. The house feels so barren... so bare... so cold. The dog barked up at me and I looked down. Scooty gives me his adorable look then wiggles its tail. I scoop him up his feet. "You miss mommy, huh? We will have a mommy and Scooty day again. Yay!" I fake enthused.

The dog gives me a weird look and I laugh. "Wish I am like you." I murmured and ruffled his soft fur. "And all have to do is be cute and cuddly." I sighed dramatically. I could have not live the days full of drama and face a life filled with complications.

I placed my plate on the sink and went upstairs, bringing my dog with me. After taking a shower I pulled out a jogging pants and a top and my running shoes. I combed my hair then open the drawer and pulled out Scooty's leash, setting it around his neck.

We went out the house, making sure to lock the door and walked to the nearby park. As I walked, a hooded runner jogged next to me.

"Mind if I join you?" His husky voice rings through my ears.

"Nope." I said. But Mia would.

"I don't know you reside here." I started.

He gives me a once over and lean on. "I don't know too that you have curves." He whispered on my ear making me shiver. My eyes momentarily closed when I felt his lips trailing soft kisses on my neck. His fingers moving slowly up to the small of my back making me arched forward. I felt him smirked against my skin.

"Wha- what are you doing?" I breathed.

"Proving that I have an effect on you." His breath hot on my neck. Realization struck through me as my cheeks flamed and my eyes widen.

I pushed him away.

He pulled down his hood and a silly smile turned up his lips.

"You aren't funny." I grumbled and walked past him. I heard him call my name but I didn't bother to look back.

I dogged my dog (how ironic) to the village park and sat at one of the bench. There are a lot of people doing a jog around the area and some pet owners strolling their dogs along. I recognized one as Dean. He waved at me and sat next to me.

"Hey," I smiled.

"Hi." He smiled back,  running his fingers through his clean-cut hair. Dean is a twenty year old guy with black- colored eyes. I met him here one time when Scooty run off to his new found mate, which is Dean's Pomeranian dog. Scooty seems to like Dean's pet a lot for he can't stop sniffing her back. So we decided to cross breed the two. The cute animal finally has a love life. What a lucky chap.

"They really like each other, don't you think?" Dean said, nudging me by the shoulder. I scoot a little bit away from him. He's so close for my liking.

"Yes, we do." Ashton butted in. He squeezed himself between Dean and I. I give him a 'what the hell' look and he gives me an impish look then rested his arm around my shoulder which I remove after.

"Um, your boyfriend I presume?" Dean asked unsurely watching Ash from head to toe.

"No—" "Yes. You have a problem with that?" Ashton said at the same time. Dean shook his head and walked away, his fellow tailing him.

"You're so rude." I hissed.

"He was so rude. He was checking you out. And I don't like it." Ashton pouted. He looked around then takes off his jacket revealing him only on a thin shirt. I can almost see the outline of his abs of how the fabric hugged him perfectly. He softly turned me by the shoulder and pushed the jacket over my head. He grabbed my hands up and pulled down the jacket and fixed my hair. I looked down and the jacket is too big for me but in a good way.

"They can now stop checking you out." He said. "It turned me on to see you wearing my jacket with my surname at the back." He whispered.

I looked away. I turned him on. I turned him on. I turned him on. The words keep repeating in my head. My heart screaming a loud thud-thud-thud with his simple yet sweet action.

"Oooh. Is my moo blushing?" He teased and cupped my face. I swat his hands away and he chuckled. He intertwined his fingers with mine and get Scooty's leash from my grip.

"What a cute buddy." He said. "But stop flirting around. You're putting your mommy in trouble." He reprimanded the dog in a fatherly tone which made me smile. Ashton leaned in to whisper something in the dog's ear which the dog bark in answer. "You know your daddy is a jealous husband."

I burst out laughing. "You look stupid."

"Yeah stupidly handsome. Come let's go to the shop and buy our baby a pair."

Our baby. Our baby. Our baby. My mind noted repeated for the second time. A feeling of giddiness exploded in my system. Why Ashton so sweet? Is this his way of winning Victoria? Is this why Mia liked him? Nah. What am I thinking? We're just friends aren't we?

Shaking my head, I follow him.

"Do you have plans for the rest of the day?" Ashton asked the moment I matched his pace. Plans? I don't have that in my dictionary. I've never plan on how my weekends will turn out.

I didn't answer right away, pretending to think. Don't want him to think that I have a social life place to the lowest degree.

"Nothing so important." I lied.

"Good. Because we have a long weekend ahead of us."
