Unknowns POV

"When can we meet again, love?" the imbecile inquired, under the delusion that we had just made love. How pathetic.

"If you want us to meet again, you'll have to do something for me," I said lustfully, gazing at him with desire.

The things I have to do just for a little favor. God, I hope this pays off in the end.

"Anything for you, baby girl. Just say it, and it's done," the easily fooled boy replied, kissing my cheeks, seemingly on the verge of another high.

"You have to promise me you'll keep it a secret first, and I'll make you the happiest man alive," I whispered seductively in his ear, running my hands up and down his arms.

He grinned, looking lustfully into my eyes. "I promise, your wish is my command."

I smiled brightly at him. "That's what I like to hear," I whispered, giving in to his desires.

Anna's POV

After a very stressful yet exciting day, I plopped myself onto my bed, soaking in the warmth and comfort of my twin-size bed.

The match might have come and gone, but the adrenaline rush still lingered within my veins. The only thing that had scared the shit out of me was the thought of one of the opponents dying, which fortunately hadn't happened.

What made me feel at ease was how Kristen took every possible step to ensure that I wasn't frightened, and I was enjoying every moment.

Sleep soon took over my body, but my mom's voice rang out from downstairs, making me groan out of annoyance. "Anna, get down here, someone's at the door to see you!" I scowled.

Who could that be at the door? I'm sure Kristen or the boys hadn't forgotten anything.

"Who is it?" I questioned as I made my way downstairs. My question was soon answered as I peered my head at the door to see who it was. "Scott?" I frowned, looking at the boy before me.

"Maria is in her room, I could go get her if-"

"I'm not here to see Maria. I'm actually here to see you," he stated, cutting me off.

"Why would you want to see me?" I asked, puzzled by his response.

"I'd prefer to go somewhere more private... anywhere except here or something," he nervously peered over my shoulder, rocking back and forth while scratching his head.

I was about to object when he gave me the most pleading puppy eyes a girl could never turn down, or that's what I told myself. Maybe he wanted to talk to me about Maria. I just hoped she wouldn't take it the wrong way.

"Don't stay out too long, hun!" Mom shouted from behind, and I cringed at her loudness.

Taking my jacket, I made my way outside to his car, and within the next ten minutes, we were at McDonald's, seated and ordering something to eat.

"So, what is it that you wanted to talk about?" I immediately asked after taking a big bite out of my scrumptious cheesy burger.

"I and Maria have been dating for quite a while now. I'm sure you've heard?" I shook my head from side to side, responding to his question.

"She said that you guys were never in a relationship to begin with," I stated.

"She said that?" he frowned as if in thought. "I'm not sure why she'd lie about it, but I can assure you that isn't the case, Anna."

"She confessed to me that she really liked me and wanted us to be together, but then she dumped me, saying that it was a mistake and that we can never be together."

"I'm sorry to hear that, but I don't understand the point you're trying to make," I asked, completely puzzled as to where he was heading.

"The thing is, we're completely miserable without each other, and it has something to do with you," he said, and the soda I was sipping spilled right out of my mouth.

"Me?!"

"Well, you see, Regina has been bugging us about you and Kristen being together. It's like this: if you guys are together, then we can't be together."

"What?! I can't believe Regina would stoop this low, making my cousin suffer just so she could break us up and be with Kristen," I said, bewildered by her actions.

Now I understand what Maria was going through.

"And please, this can in no way go back to Kristen. You'll just make things worse than it already is."

"But you can't expect me to break up with Kristen. I'll talk to Regina, maybe then we could come to some sort of conclusion," I tried to reason with him, frustration and confusion mixing in my voice.

"She won't listen to anything anyone has to say. She only wants Kristen back, and plus, we've been together long before you and Kristen started dating. It's the least you could do since Maria's been going through a lot."

"What are you talking about? And what the hell did Maria go through that I don't know about?!" I spoke, my anger rising as I struggled to maintain my composure.

"It's complicated enough, Anna, so please do us all a favor and leave Kristen. He's only gonna get rid of you in the end after he gets what he wants. I can't believe you'd be this selfish and make us all suffer for someone that's not even yours."

"You don't know anything about him or us, for that matter, so it's best you shut it!" I yelled, my voice cracking with a mix of anger and hurt, as I stood up and prepared to leave.

What's with everyone wanting us to break up?! Am I blind and missing something here?!

"Wait, Anna, please forgive me... I'm just so frustrated with the way things have been going for the past few weeks."

"That doesn't excuse you to talk to me in any way that you please," I calmly told him, tears welling up in my eyes.

"Will you at least think about it?"

What was there to think about? It was either Kristen or Maria. Would I give in to my own flesh and blood or the boy I'm hopelessly falling for?

"Fine, I'll think about it, but I cannot guarantee you things will turn out the way you want," I spoke, my voice trembling with a mix of emotions, as I picked up my things, trying to hide the tears streaming down my face.

He smiled, and just then I could see a hint of sparkle and hope within the depths of his eyes. "Thank you, Anna," he said, his voice filled with relief and gratitude.

"What the fuck is going on here?!" the voice of my over-possessive boyfriend erupted, cutting through the air like a sharp blade.

Startled, I turned around to see Kristen standing there, his face contorted with anger and disbelief. The atmosphere suddenly became tense, and my heart sank at the sight of his reaction.
