Chapter 9- You are a trouble maker that everyone adores

"Was that Lucas you were on a bike with?" Ethan asked. There was no point in lying.

"Yes" I said in a small voice.

"Emily" Ethan sighed in disappointment.

"It is not what you think Ethan." I defended.

"Get in because we have a lot to talk about." Ethan said. I walked inside and realized Aaron was also here. We sat down on the couch.

"I'll start, what is it between you and Parker?" Aaron asked.

"He asked me out this morning."

"What about you and Lucas? What are you two?" My mind dwelled in the thoughts. Me and Lucas, we weren't even proper friends.

"I don't know."

"Great, you don't understand trouble, do you?" Ethan asked.

"Ethan, those two have been nothing but good and fun. The day I ran away from the car, I fell and fainted (couldn't tell the true reason). Lucas found me and helped me. I wasn't at Lucy's place." I confessed.

"All this happened and you tell me now?! This is fucking bullshit!" Ethan yelled and stormed out of the house.

"It is all my fault." I mummerd to myself.

"No, Em, it isn't. He loves you a lot. Just that Ethan is going through a lot, you know. His mom is in the hospital, he isn't getting a job, and he thinks that all of a sudden you are acting very distant to him. He is blaming himself Em. That guy needs a break." Aaron said.

"Yea, and all I have been is a problem." I sighed.

"Nope. You are much more than that. You are a trouble maker that everyone adores." Aaron joked and gave me a warm hug.

"What would I do without you?" I smiled.

"Sulk?" He said and I punched him playfully.

"Gosh, I love you so much."

"Yeah, yeah, now go to bed Em. You have school tomorrow. I'll get Ethan back." Aaron said and I nodded.

I slipped in my bed and I heard the main door close. I trust Aaron. He will get Ethan back. Just like that, thinking about all the Parker, Lucas, Mom, and Ethan drama in my life, I fell asleep.

But after some time, I heard the door jerk open. Two figures walked inside. I kept my eyes shut because I knew it was Ethan and Aaron, plus Ethan looked drunk. Ethan sat on the bed next to me while Aaron's tall figure loomed over me.

"Baby girl, I'm so sorry. You know life is being a bitch, right? First, that man who made our and mom's life hell, I can't even call him dad. Now mom, after her, it will be only you and me. Lucas is not safe and he will only break hearts. I can't see you broken." Ethan's voice was so sad.

Then, Aaron helped Ethan out of my room, but I couldn't sleep. Ethan was right about Lucas. He only broke hearts and I have seen so many girls fall for him and then suffer. I can not be one of those girls. I have to stay away from him. That's when I saw a text.

Picking you up tomorrow -Lucy

I smiled at the thought of my new best friend and the date with Parker. I really like him and I want the date to go well. Just like that, I finally fell asleep.

In the morning, I woke up without anyone throwing water at my face. I skipped to the washroom and brushed my teeth, took a shower, and got dressed in white jeans and blue-grey full sleeved t-shirt (outfit on top). I put on a little bit of eye liner and mascara and then walked into the kitchen. Ethan was already cooking.

"Morning." I hugged him and he hugged back.

"I'm sorry." He sighed.

"You don't need to be. You only wanted the best for me." I smiled.

"So, you want some food?" Ethan asked.

"Nahh, I'm going to Lucy's place! Bye!"

"Bye!"

I slung my purse over my shoulder and walked out. Lucy's house was only a couple of blocks away and I could walk to it. I rang the door bell and was greeted by an infamiliar face.

"Welcome, you must be Emily?" The female asked, letting me in.

"Yeah" I replied shyly.

"I'm Lucy's mom Mara." The lady in her mid-thirties introduced.

"Oh, good morning Mrs. Stephines."

"Emily, call me Mara please, Mrs. Stephines sounds too old. Oh, and Lucy will be here any moment." She said.

Just then, Lucy walked down the stairs looking pretty as ever. She looked so good in anything she wore! I wish I could be that beautiful. I wasn't exactly fat, but I wasn't slim enough either. She smiled as she saw me and we got into her car after saying goodbye to her mom.

"So, you and Parker, huh?" She was referring to the party last to last night.

"Yes, he asked me out yesterday." I said.

"Yassss! That is amazing! Oh my lord, I get to dress you up!" Lucy squealed.

"Oh no" I muttered.

"Although, you and Lucas would have looked better together." She stated.

"No. But me and Lucas kinda did make out at night at the party." I confessed.

"Em, it is not healthy. Just choose one guy!" Lucy scolded.

"I'm totally into Parker. I was drunk that night! Plus, Lucas is a player. He doesn't date."

Lucy parked the car and we walked into the school. Nervousness filled me as I realized all the attention was on me. It was all because I was going out with THE PARKER. That's when the sound of heels alerted me. Walking towards me was none other than Summer Hills.

"So, you are two timing, huh?" Summer squeaked while her minions let out a girly giggle.

"None of your business." I spat.

"Oh, so now because you have Lucas wrapped around your finger and you are dating Parker, your pathetic little mouth opens?"

"Oh, shut the hell up jealous bitch." Nope I didn't say it. Lucy did.

"Stay away from Lucas. He is mine." Summer said before walking away. I smiled at Lucy and we parted ways to go to our classes. Where is Parker?

Soon, it was lunch and I was waiting to meet Parker. Mission avoid Lucas was going well since I didn't talk to him in any of the classes we shared and walked out before he could reach me.

At lunch

I just took an apple since I didn't really feel like eating. Lucy and I were about to sit at our usual table, but then I heard Parker calling for me. I turned around.

"Sit with us!" Parker called.

Lucy had a wide grin plastered on her face and so, I couldn't say a no. I nodded. Sitting with Parker meant sitting with Lucas and the gang. What had I gotten myself into?
