Chapter 10- New Friends

I had to sit with Parker. When I told Aaron that, he agreed to sit with the populars since he practically was one of them. I really didn't feel like eating because I was way too nervous. So I grabbed an apple while Lucy took her tray of food and we made our way to the NEW table.

"Sit here Emi." Parker said, patting the space next to him.

"Sure" I forced a smile and took a seat next to Parker.

"So, guys, this is Emily and that's Lucy." Parker introduced the two of us.

Lucy sat between Aaron and I while Lucas was opposite me. I avoided Lucas's glares the whole time. There were many faces out of which some were on basketball teams. Katie had golden-brown hair and brown eyes and she was on the basketball team.

Parker introduced me to a girl called Ashley, who was a cheerleader, but surprisingly, she hated Summer. There were two other guys, Jace and Tyler.

Jace was the 'cute' guy with Golden-brown hair, and mesmerising, blue eyes. Tyler was more of a Badass with black-brown hair, dark brown eyes, and a fair skin tone. He didn't speak much.

"Hey Emily, you are the basketball team captain, right?" Ashley asked.

"How come I'm in your team and I haven't talked to you much? How are you not popular?" Katie asked.

"Yeah, I mean isn't Ethan your brother and Aaron your best friend?" Jace asked.

"I'm a shy person actually. I don't mix around much. Actually, I'm glad you guys actually know I exist. I like staying in the shadow." I said with a small smile.

"At least you aren't like Summer." Ashley smiled.

Lucy and Ashley quickly engaged in a talk becuase they both were into fashion. Katie looked like the Tom boy. Not like I mind or anything, she was fun to chat with. Lucas, well, he was still looking at me while I avoided his eyes.

"Emi, I have our date planned. Everything is going to be really nice. Just be ready by seven?" Parker asked.

The entire table grew silent and Lucas stiffened. I could see his jaw clenching and I could feel his body radiate anger. But why? Its not like he liked me or anything. Plus, he's only a player.

"You both are dating?" Katie asked shocked.

"It is our first date tonight." I blushed red.

Jace and Aaron hooted while Tyler stayed silent like always. Ashley and Lucy were squealing while Katie gave me a 'God help you from Ashley' look. That time, I knew they wouldn't spare me the make up.

Parker was grinning from ear to ear while Lucas sat there blank. There were no emotions on his face and his eyes were cold. By cold, I mean glassy cold. When lunch was over, I was making my way to the locker while someone held my hand to stop me.

"Avoiding me Princess?" Lucas smirked.

"No" I said, keeping a straight face.

"Oh come on Angel. Care to tell me why you have been avoiding me?"

"Let me go Lucas." I said turning my face away from him.

"Princess, tell me." He demanded.

"Let me go." I said once again.

"Are you scared that you will fall face first for my pretty face?" He smirked again.

"LET.ME.GO." With that one final statement, I yanked my hand away from his grip and walked away.

Gosh, I couldn't even talk to him. Even his talking was contagious. It was like he would turn me 'bad' and I can't afford to be that. I like Lucas as a friend, but I can't risk myself because I know Lucas has charms and I might fall for them. Worst part? He wouldn't care.

Thankfully, school got over and I went to Lucy's car. Lucy was already inside with Ashley in the passenger seat in front and Katie at the back. I got into the back side. We were all going to mine because Lucy and Ashley had to 'dress me up' and Katie was going to help me. We directly went in my room because Ethan wasn't home yet.

"So, what are you wearing?" Lucy asked.

"Jeans and some random top?" I said unsure.

"No! We have to find something." Ashley said.

The two devils devoured my wardrobe while Katie and I sat on my bed chatting about school, basketball and stuff. After about half an hour, Lucy and Ashley started giggling. What they held in their hands made my eyes widen in shock.

It was the cutest pair of clothes I thought never existed in my cupboard. It was a light blue skirt and white top (date outfit picture in the next chapter). I changed into those clothes and Ashley pushed me to the chair for my make up.

"I'm sorry Em." Katie giggled.

Ashley did my make up while Lucy was doing my hair. When there were only 15mins left to seven, they finished and boy they did an amazing job. The doorbell rang, but when I went downstairs, Parker had already been greeted by a serious Ethan. They were talking. More like Ethan was talking and Parker was nodding.

"Parker" I smiled. His mouth was slightly ajar as he eyed me up and down. I blushed so hard that I think I was redder than a tomato.

"You look beautiful." Parker sighed.

"Thanks, you look good too." Good my ass. He looked incredibly sexy in denims and dark shirt.

Not as sexy as Lucas.

Shut up brain.

"I want you home by ten." My brother said, interrupting our conversation.

"Twelve." I bargained.

"Eleven and that's final." He announced.

"Fine." I agreed and Parker wrapped his hand around my waist, which made goosebumps rise all over my skin.

"Last thing, no funny business. I don't wish to have small kids running around in my house."

"Ethan!" I scolded but not before turning red once again. Ethan just chuckled.

"I'm sorry for all that." I said as we walked towards Parker's car.

He opened the door for me like a gentleman and I got inside. The engine of the car roared to life as Parker's car hit the road. Didn't he own a bike?

"Parker, don't you have a bike?" I asked.

"I do have a bike but since it was a date I took the car. I'm not allowed to drive but I still am." He replied.

"Where are we going?" I asked again.

"You ask a lot."

"I do, now tell me?"

"You'll see." He smirked.

The smirk looks better on Lucas.

Shut up brain.
