Chapter 29: The Ship

I let out a small yawn, stretching my body and trying to wake up my sleeping muscles. I took in the greenery scene in front of me.

We were in a camp site, tall trees surrounds us with various flowers that smells somehow good.

There was a few buildings that was scattered in the large area and few tents were set up not far away from us.

Rows of school bus were parked, a soft chatter can be heard as sleepy seniors went out of the bus.

Todd stretched beside me, letting out a boyish yawn. Chase was on his phone while Valentino was quietly standing next to him. The twins and Ark were groggily making our way towards us who rode in the other bus.

It was field trip day and we left quite early, around 6 and the call time was 5:30 in the morning. I think it's around 7:45 in the morning. Yes, my thoughts exactly. WHY WOULD YOU WAKE YOUR STUDENTS THAT EARLY?

I felt an arm loop around my waist, Alec rested his chin on my head. I stood still, my eyes taking notice of Ark resting her head sleepily on Jayden's shoulder.

It seems that those two are becoming more comfortable with one another. They've been hanging out after school every day from what Hayden told me.

We all wore jogging pants and a shirt with the school's logo in the front and has a print that says 'P.E.' on the back.

I had my hair up in a messy bun with my lips smothered with of course, chapstick. A loud whistle resonated in the chatter, earning everyone's attention.

We all huddled closer towards Mr. Pimp who was the teacher assigned to us. He had a whistle that hung on his neck and a clipboard on the other hand.

The students shared knowing looks upon seeing the huge smile that graced his lips. Hmm, I wonder why.

"Told you that sex changes everything," Todd whispered beside me, earning a stifle of laughter from me.

"Okay guys. So, our group would be fighting against other groups, points would be claim depending on the ranking of each game. At the end of the day, whatever group gets the highest points in total automatically gets a perfect grade." Mr. Pimp said, his eyes on the clipboard.

He glanced at his wrist watch,"It's currently 7:56 AM and our first activity will be hide and seek but there's a twist. The team who loses the toss coin would be the seekers and winners will be the hiders. They will be given 5 minutes to find the hiders. Every time the seeker finds a hider, it will automatically help that seeker find the remaining hiders." He explained.

"How do we know that those hiders wouldn't help their team win?" One of the students asked.

"You can't because if you were found by one of the seekers then automatically your individual grade would be dependent on the points earned by the seekers. At the end of seven minutes, the hiders that the seekers will find and the remaining hiders who weren't found will be counted. Whichever teams has the highest count against another will be the winner." He answered, earning nods from the students.

"Any more questions?" He glanced around,"None? Okay. It's currently 7:57 AM and we will start at 8:15. Go ahead and do some stretches." Mr. Pimp ordered, blowing on his whistle once more.

We all broke into our own groups and started stretching. I couldn't help but feel excited and nervous at the same time, even the others seemed more awake and pumped.

"Chase, we'll hide in the bushes." Val announced to him, doing a little leg stretch.

"I want to be the seeker," Chase said, a bored look on his face.

Todd rolled his eyes,"I'll see you on the other team then. Hiders are so much fun!"

"We're so gonna win this," Ark excitedly said, a wide grin on her face.

Before we knew it, we were all huddled back together against the other team. We were against Mr. Lockwood's team and sadly we lose the toss coin making us the seekers.

I was honestly fine with either way.

"I wanted to be the hiders!" Val complained, a childish pout on his lips.

"We can't get everything we want V, stop fucking complaining and better make sure you use that eyes of yours. We need to win," Chase glared at him.

The rest of our team was talking against one another, thinking of the possibilities where the hiders could hide while we wait for the 3 minutes to finish.

"It's best if we separate guys, it'll be easier to find them," I told them, hearing the 10 seconds countdown start.

Each group has around 40 students and it'll be quite a hassle considering we only have 7 minutes to look for them.

The pack of skittles nodded, excited yells can be heard from the rest of our group eyeing the area where we will be looking.

"Watch where you're going biscotto and don't trip. Let's win this," Alec gave me a peck on the cheek before we were off running in different directions.

There were areas where the land was quite uneven and it was a struggle because there were huge roots that were sprouting on the ground and you could trip on them if you weren't careful or looking enough.

Yes, there were a few times where I tripped and almost scratched my face on the ground. My jogging pants were kind of dirty already.

Trees and bushes where everywhere and a few random tents. I made my way towards it, the sun was shining up and I could feel beads of sweat forming on my forehead.

I stalked quietly towards it, before opening the first tent and saw that there was no one. I moved onto the other three.

All were empty except the last one. When I zipped it down, I let out a surprised gasp when a guy looked at me like a deer caught in headlights.

"Ha! I found you! Let's go hider!" I grinned, nodding my head for him to follow.

He begrudgingly followed after me, looking around the area and checking behind the bushes.

"What's your name? I'm Ellie!" I introduced, offering him a friendly smile.

"Kai," He grunted out, bending down to check on one of the bushes.

Kai was a guy with a few words and I did most of the talking between us. He was a good seeker since we found one more hider before the time was up.

At the end of the game, we won. We found 32 of them and only 8 hiders weren't found. Chase found the most of them along with a girl that I wasn't familiar with.

"It was nice knowing you guys!" I waved at them, seeing as they had to go back to their group.

"Yes! We won!" Todd fist pump, earning a high five from Val.

The next game was pull the rope where this time it was Mr. Coax's group we were against. It was Boys vs Boys and vice versa.

"Yes! Go! Pull it like it's a must Jayden!" Ark cheered beside me.

"Pull! Yes! That's i—No! Jayden! PULL THE FREAKING ROpe!"

I was laughing so hard beside Ark and I didn't know if Jayden's face was red because of the pulling or his embarrassment from it. The boys were halfway in making the other group step on the line and easily won in the end.

"Aaaaaah! This is so freaking hard!" I screamed out, trying to pull the rope with all my twigs arms could offer.

When the guys were doing this earlier, grunts could be heard but with the girls, ungirly screams and yells can be heard from each team.

"We can win this guys! Pull!" A girl on the other team shouted, I let out a grimace when I felt my feet slightly get carried away at their force.

"Yeah! I don't think so honey!" Ark yelled back, all of us pulling harder.

The guys were cheering on us especially Val and Todd whose voices can be heard.

"If you win this girls, Chase told me that he'll give you all a peck on the cheek!" Valentino shouted, immediately earning a punch from Chase.

"If you lose, Mr. Pimp would be the one to give you all a kiss on the cheek!" Todd shouted back, earning a harsh slap on the back from Mr. Pimp.

At his words, I felt all the girls on our side pull harder. I started laughing because of this, Ark was throwing out encouraging yells and trying to stifle her laughter.

"Let us win! Please! This is a once in a life time opportunity!" Some female in our group shouted.

At her words, Ark and I busted out laughing completely getting carried away and before we knew it, we were on the ground in surprise because the girls from the other side had let go in defeat.

Ark and I were still laughing on the ground, clutching our stomachs. Chase had a horrified look on his face while the pack of skittles were laughing like hyenas.

Jayden and Alec made their way towards us, offering their hand for us to take. I was still laughing while I let Alec pull me up.

Todd and Valentino were lining the girls up infront of Chase who had a ' how did this happen' look on his face.

Mr. Pimp was silently chuckling with Ms. Coax who surprise surprise had an amused smile at this despite the fact that the girls purposely lost.

"Hahahaha Fuck hahahah Val hahaha he's gonna die later hahaha." I clutched my stomach, letting out a wheeze.

Alec turned my body towards him before starting to wiping my sweat away from my face with a face towel that he had brought, an annoyed look on his face.

"Hey! What's with that face? We won!" I frowned, my head craning up to look at him.

"I'll be the one to give you your reward later biscotto, don't let Chase kiss your cheek." He grumbled, a scowl on his face.

At his words, I started laughing again before turning to Ark who was looking at Jayden with disbelief.

I turned back to Chase, a smile forming on my lips when I noticed some of the guys were holding their girlfriends back who were trying to join in on the line.

I giggled, I think it's Chase who would be dead at the end of this field trip.

The next game we did was freeze tag with of course, a twist. We were against four teams where all of us can tag someone in the other team but the twist was once you get tag, that person will be held prisoner by that group.

At the end of the game, whoever had the most amount of prisoners wins. Somehow, It all ended in a complete fail when the girls from the other teams were all trying their best to tag either one of the pack of skittles and didn't bother to tag the others.

In the end, we won due to disqualification of the girls on the other team and how they were only targeting specific people.

"Damn, I take back what I said last time. This is definitely fun!" Hayden announced, taking a bite out of his burger.

It was around now lunch time and all of us chose to eat lunch on one of the wooden tables that had seats on it.

Others were on the ground where a huge cloth was placed that were given away by the teachers.

"How did it feel to kiss that many girls Chase?" Hayden grinned, a teasing tone on his voice.

Chase who had been grumpy since earlier merely gave him a small glare before turning back to his food and sulking.

Val patted his shoulder."I had to Chase, it was the only way we could've won." He explained.

Todd nodded profusely."It'll be all worth it when we get that perfect grade."

I was sitting next to Alec who was eating his food, one of his hand was on my thigh while the other held the burger he was currently stuffing on his mouth.

"You better watch out V, those boyfriends earlier were quite pissed at the ruckus that you did." I pointed out, pushing a strand of hair away from my face.

Chase rolled his eyes,"Let them try, I'll show them a glimpse of Chase Devion."

"There's a reason why he's called the reaper in the streets." Jayden smirked, his hand playing with Ark's hair.

I listened quietly to their chatter, taking the water bottle and trying to twist the cap open. Alec pulled it away from me before easily opening it and handing it back to me.

I gave him a thankful smile before turning back to the conversation.

"From what I've heard we're ranking in the second? Shame we lost that sack relay thing," Hayden answered, glancing at Ark who asked.

"That was Val's fault. He was being too damn whiny and fell." Alec piped in, earning a gasp from V.

"That was the rock's fault. Stupid little shit! It made me trip," Val protested, an offended look on his face.

"Yeah and it was absolutely the sack's fault that it couldn't handle your heavy ass feet and gave up." Chase retorted, rolling his eyes.

Valentino crossed his arms, a childish pout settling on his features. "I'm mad at you. Don't talk to me." He grumbled turning his attention to the twins.

Lunch was amusing to say the least, Chase became even more grumpier and Valentino was ignoring him. The conversation though, didn't even dwindled and was spent glancing at one another with amusement.

"Okay, the next activity is hiking. You all can choose your own group in this activity. You will be given a map and a trail. When you reach the top, you can take pictures and it will be your proof that you have completed the activity." Mr. Pimp explained, showing us a map.

"What if there are wild animals Mr. Pimp? What would we do?" Valentino asked, a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

Mr. Pimp smiled brightly at him."Do not worry Mr. Fedeli. The only animal that would be present is you."

Val gaped, placing a hand on his chest before he huffed at him. I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing as we all proceeded to group ourselves.

"He's so mean," V pouted, crossing his arms across his chest.

Valentino volunteered like a tribute to be the group leader in our hike and was happily saying directions with his gaze on the map.

The heat was quite harsh in this time of the day and it didn't help that I sweat easily. I let out a sigh, wiping some of my sweat away and listening to V's rambles.

It was quite a work out since the farther we go, the more the trails become quite challenging. Alec was in front of me, talking to Hayden whilst occasionally checking if I was okay.

"It's so fucking hot I could melt right here if I wanted to!" Ark complained beside me, her ponytail swaying.

"Tell me about it, look at V hahaha He's acting focused but you could tell from the twitch of his finger that he's getting annoyed that Jayden and Chase are talking." I giggled quietly to her.

She glanced straight ahead, catching a glimpse of V who's throwing annoyed glances at Jayden and Chase.

Todd was behind us, his Airpods on and was listening to music. He seemed to be deep in though and I decided to leave him be.

"I think either one of them is gay." Ark glanced at the three briefly.

"Doesn't matter, they're still the same person we all know them to be." I shrugged, opening the cap of water bottle and drinking from it.

She nodded,"That's right. Although I don't know who to ship between the three of them," Ark lowered her voice, glancing suspiciously from anyone who's eavesdropping.

I let out a cough, the water completely going on the wrong pipe."What? You shipped them?!"

Ark rolled her eyes."Duh, who wouldn't? Hashtag Vase and Codd whoever wins well, I'm obviously betting on the both of them."

I shuddered,"Codd? That reminds me of Cod sperm eek." I recoiled.

Ark slapped my arm."Well, Tase doesn't exactly sound appealing either." She argued, quickening her pace to close the huge gap between us and the boys.

I gave her a deadpanned look, merely shaking my head in amusement which earned a devilish smile to form on her lips.

"So, which boat are you shipping on?" She asked, her eyes glinting.

"Ark!" I laughed, playfully pushing her away.

Our hike continued like that for the rest of the way. My body was feeling quite sore and my moves were sluggish but I still made it.

"Woah, this is amazing." I breathed out, my eyes taking in the view.

We stood in what seems to be like a cliff, below it was the view of town. The sun was just setting down and casted a beautiful shades of orange and pinkish hues across the sky.

The wind breezed pass us, my hair flowing back at the force of it. I felt the warmth of Alec's hand beside mine, a ghost of smile graced my lips feeling at peace and contented.

I glanced at my friends who were all in awe and was soaking in the breathless view. It was a tiring hike but the view that stood before us obviously made up for it.

"Will you look at that, this is totally worth it." Todd smiled, his eyes shining against the sun.

Many activities happened today and I wasn't sure wether we were going to be the winning group but I knew for sure that we would always have each others back.

I'm happy that I met them and I couldn't help but thank the person up there whom led me from my decisions to them.

We couldn't see the sun fully setting but it was enough for us. V announced that we had to go back since we can't risk being left behind.

I glanced at the view one more time before following before them. I didn't know what happened but Valentino somehow ended up twisting his ankle.

"I don't think that it's safe to walk with that," I commented, looking at him. We were all huddled around him, his hand clutching his ankle.

V was about to retort when Chase crouched in front of him, his back facing Valentino's. We all looked at him in surprise.

"Hurry up and get on my back you clumsy puppy." Chase growled, glancing at him briefly. V huffed before moving towards him and accepting his piggy back ride.

Ark and I glanced at each other, our eyes widening. Did this just confirm our ship?
