It had been two days already since I've heard or seen from Riley and I was honestly mad at myself for being mad at her. But I'm like damn, she left my house and haven't spoken to me since. If she didn't wanna be my sneaky link anymore she could've just said that, I'm a grown up I can handle things like that.

"Mommy I'm weady! Look" I heard Keyari call out to me dragging me out of my thoughts as she grabbed my hand, I looked down at her outfit and nodded my head pursing my lips.

One thing about it, I taught my baby how to dress herself at a very young age. She wasn't about to be like these other kids dressing like color clowns, because I wasn't the parent to lie and tell her it's cute. She would always get the raw truth from me and that's just that.

"Cute?" She asked and I nodded "Yes baby, I'm surprised your hair still looks good." I spoke leaning down to fix her shoe strings, I was still working on helping her learn to tie her shoes.

I was getting ready to take Keyari to her sisters party over at Marcus' house. I wasn't planning on staying since his baby mama and I didn't like each other one bit, but he convinced me by saying they had my favorite foods, Rotel and shrimp alfredo there.. I told him to count me in immediately.

"You wook cute too mommy" I smiled thanking her before standing up and stretching "Alright let me go grab my purse and keys then we can head out." I told her and she nodded walking over to the front door, I turned and walked into the kitchen grabbing my keys and purse.

I looked inside of it making sure my charger, AirPods, perfume, and gun was still in there. "Okay we good." I confirmed before walking back to the front door where Keyari stood waiting for me with her hand on her hip.

I was licensed to carry, I had to living in Memphis especially with a toddler. "Girl don't be rushing me in your head, come on" I chuckled opening the front door, I led her to the car and helped her in. I buckled her up before pecking her lips "Mwuah!" She smiled pecking my lips once more making me laugh.

I closed the back door and walked over to the drivers side climbing in, I then threw my purse into the passenger seat and pulled out my phone locking the front door. Ever since I got that app, I've never actually locked my door with my hand.. well only when Marcus is annoying me I lock him out my house.

"What you wanna listen to?" I asked Keyari as I connected to the aux, she thought about it for a second before smiling. "Scissors!" She semi yelled excitedly, I chuckled and played the song I knew she was talking about. Good days by Sza.

"Hey everybody" I smiled waving as I stepped into Marcus' backyard where half his family, and the kids where. I would say everybody but there was hella muhfuckas in the house it took me a hour to speak to. "Hey Keke!" His sister Nette smiled widely pulling me into a hug, almost everyone else spoke to me as well.

But of course there was still some better family members who didn't like me, and I didn't give a damn. "Where Marcus?" I asked looking around not seeing him, "He over there with his girlfriend guh." She pointed and on cue I spotted him over by the picnic tables hugged up with Riley.

I chuckled shaking my head. For some reason, I definitely felt a way. "Keyari did you get your gift out of the car?" I asked not looking away from the two of them "Yes ma'am" she responded making me nod.

Mani, the birthday girl was standing next to the two of them and right now she was my excuse to walk over there. "Let's go give it to her." I told her and she nodded happily "Wait you sure?" Nette asked grabbing my arm stopping me from walking as she studied my facial expression.

"Yeah why?" I asked finally looking away to make eye contact with Nette. "You looked pissed off when you looked over there. You are over Marcus right?" She asked hesitantly as if she knew I was about to curse her out. I immediately scrunched my face up nodding quick as hell.

"Hell yeah, it's not even Marcus I'm worried bout. If you get it, you get it.." I spoke honestly, it took her a minute before her eyes widened. "Bitc- I mean Keyonna! I- you know what, I need a drink." She shook her head chuckling before walking off over to the coolers.

She knew what I meant and who I was talking about because I had slipped and told her everything in the mist of venting. Even though Nette was Marcus' sister, she was definitely like a best friend to me. Through everything me and Marcus went through, she never changed up on me or judged me, never played both sides or anything.

So I knew that I could tell Nette and not worry about her saying anything, there's plenty of things I've told her and it never got out. I shook my head and grabbed Keyari's hand leading her over to the table.

When Marcus seen us approaching he smiled widely making me roll my eyes. "Daddy!" Keyari yelled running up to him, Riley moved out of the way so Keyari could get to him successfully. She immediately spotted me standing there with my arms cross but I ignored her focusing on Marcus.

"Marcus you said there was Rotel and Alfredo here, they said they don't have any" I frowned making him look at me for a split second "Oh I lied my bad... you know I'm always lying to you.." He said making me scrunch my face up, he caught it and immediately tried to save his self "On accident Keke," I sucked my teeth.

A couple hours flew by and I actually ended up having fun, Riley avoided me the whole time for whatever reason but I wasn't tripping. And my baby ended up having fun for the most part, that's all that mattered to me.

I stood off to the side with Nette laughing and talking about random shit until someone cleared their throat.

I stopped talking and looked up scrunching my face up. "What?" I asked a bit harshly when I realized that it was only Riley. "Can we talk? Alone please?" She asked making Nette raise her eyebrow before sipping from her cup pretending to mind her business.

"Umm no" I shook my head pursing my lips, I wanted to be difficult. I felt the need to, after all she did ignore and avoid me for no reason at all. Now she wants to talk? I'm good. "Ight" she shrugged before walking off, I sighed slouching in my chair turning back to Nette who only chuckled.

"Wanna talk about it?" She asked and I shook my head no realizing that it was getting dark, "No but I'm about to go home." I told her and she nodded pulling me into a hug "okay sis, call me when you get there."

She responded and I nodded walking over to where Marcus sat holding Keyari and Mani in his lap. "Marcus I'm about to go" I told him and he shrugged "Ight, Keyari wanna stay the night" He told me and I sighed rubbing my forehead.

"Marcus I- you know what.. okay, just call me before you drop her off." I told him and he nodded, I quickly leaned down and pecked Keyari's lips before turning and walking off. Can't wait to be in the comfort of my own bed, in my own home..

But what I didn't know is that I wouldn't be enjoying it alone.
