Where was my jaw? on the floor.

As Frigga opened the magnificent golden double doors to my 'chambers'

I, of course, smiled at the posh words,

Was greeted with a stunning sight, a large chandelier with millions of little glass teardrop shape pieces hung above us, a beautiful dusty blue silk sheeted bed with shimmering gold intricate markings lining the walls.

It was breathtaking. Just like everything else here in Asgard, I'm not sure you could label something remotely 'ugly' or 'unappealing' because there was simply nothing here that you could say looked like that without it being a lie.

It felt like I'd just stepped into a fairy tale book and got a first-hand look at inside the castle and it was like a dream.

"I'm glad you like it, love" Loki leaned in whispering my ear from behind sending an odd shudder up my spine as I felt his breath fan my neck.

"Frigga...this...this is too much I dont think I'm very deserving of-"

"nonsense" it wasn't Frigga who cut me off but Loki as he stood tall next to me with a grin, "it is one of the best rooms in all of Asgard, of course, you deserve it"

My cheeks warmed with a little embarrassment at how much praise he was giving me, I was just a mortal from earth to these people, nothing special. Yet here he was making me out to be some queen or something.

I wouldn't call myself overly confident, I do know my self worth-sort of- but all of this was a lot to take in and I also didn't want to seem ungrateful for such efforts.

"Like my son has said, though, with different word choice, It is quite alright Sparrow we are happy to accommodate you here unless it is not to your liking?" the queen turned to face me after flattering open the soft material of some curtains bathing the room in light.

It only incased her in a golden aura and holy shit is Loki's mom the prettiest woman I have ever seen

I shook my head vigorously paling a little, I really need to learn not to zone out so much "no, no this is perfect I-thank you" I smiled nervously hoping it was enough to convince her I wasn't unhappy with it.

"It is no problem my dear, now if you will please excuse me I have something to attend to, it was a pleasure meeting you," she told me kindly and I smiled nodding "likewise" With that she turned on her heel descending back down the long hall.

I took slow and careful steps into the grand room fearful I would break or mess up something, with me being so clumsy one trip and I could break something worth more than dad's shop.

"It is not going to bite you, you can look around" Loki put in teasingly chuckling while leaning against the door frame while I turned my head to face him and narrowed my eyes playfully.

"well, this-" I paused holding up my arms and spinning in a circle signaling to the room "-is amazing!" I yelped with a large smile and his eyes sparkled with something I couldn't pinpoint

"Im glad you approve of it, though you should not put up such a fuss with mother, she implies that you have your freedom but really she does want things to go her way" he mentioned smugly.

I rolled my eyes and turned to look at a wardrobe "Your mom is- intimidating, well to me at least-" I paled and smacked my hand over my mouth "shit that was so rude I'm sorry-"

He rolled his eyes and took a few steps off from the wall shaking his head "you really do need to calm yourself you have been on edge since you entered the palace and I can assure you there is no good reason for it, you are not going to be judged here not by me at least"

I inhaled deeply trying to pretend that I didn't catch his familiar scent as it completely made my head fuzzy with nostalgia.

I nodded and smiled softly "thanks, I guess it's just how fancy everything is here compared to well...a busy New York City that I'm so used to" I pursed my lips and looked away still feeling eyes on the side of my face.

I heard him sigh and ignored how his breath dusted my cheek, is he really that close and I just didn't notice?

"If it is ever too much we can return"

I looked up at him as his brows creased and I shook my head my hands unconsciously reaching to smooth the crease between his brows with my thumb, "hey, no its alright really I'll get used to it anyway I just need....a little time to process that this is all really real"

I pulled away quickly when he looked straight into my eyes and I felt my cheeks get hot, agh why did I touch him like that?

"very well, you have all the time you need"

"thank you"

I turned to examine the room a little more and paused at the sight of double doors across the room, I walked over and opened them. Revealing an extravagant walk-in wardrobe with what had to be over 30 different dresses on countless stands I gasped "Oh my god this is insane!"

I heard Loki snickering at my amazement but I couldn't hold back from gently touching the array of light and pretty colored fabrics lined up before me.

"This is unbelievable! I've never seen dresses with this much detail and is that a real diamond necklace?!" I babbled excitedly and stuck my head out to see him grinning, he straightened up from leaning against the frame and smirked.

"Well, I shall leave you to it, for now, gather outside in the gardens when you are finished with your... examining" He concluded.

I beamed as he was heading out I called out for him, "Wait!" he turned to face me and I nervously put my hands to my front and twiddled them nervously while looking down.

"where are the gardens exactly?" I blushed embarrassed because he knew the place so well and I still had yet to figure out where the nearest bathroom was, I looked up through my lashes as he answered with that charming grin still evident.

"straight down the hall, to your left" he informed me then veered and left me to myself, I turned back around and wandered over to various areas, the bed was extremely soft.

You better believe I turned into my cat self and rolled atop of the ever so soft silk sheets too.

I shifted back then sat on the small stool in front of a mirror and touched up my wind-whipped hair re-tying it into a loose bun. I then decided to head over to the wardrobe and try on something, I just hoped they would fit.

After a small moment of flittering through the many options, I came across one that caught my eye. I smiled brightly to myself as I took it to the bathroom to get changed, my mouth dropped again at the sight of the massive bathtub, no shower but that didn't matter I suppose Asgardians only bathe.

After slipping the dress on I found it fit perfectly, the fabric hugged my curves in all of the right places and cascaded to pool at my feet, lucky me I suppose.

I walked out after fixing my hair into a more neatly styled deep brown bun atop my head allowing a couple of small strands to flow down my cheeks.

I stepped out and found some golden sandals at the bottom of the wardrobe so I threw them on and glanced in the mirror running my hands through the material for the second time. Where do they get this goddamn fabric it's so freakin soft!

I decided that I looked presentable enough and quietly left my,

'chambers' hehe,

I noticed a couple of guards at their posts outside of my door but didn't mind them too much. It's not like I was going to kill someone so they wouldn't attack me or anything, I hope.

Their golden clad armors glinted in the light just like Heimdall's, very shiny.

I softly walked down the hall until getting to the end taking a left as Loki had instructed. The hall went down halfway until at the end stood double doors made of glass and an array of leaves and flowers just behind them.

I heard someone talking and grinned upon recognizing the voice, I was close to it and I could hear the sound of rushing water, maybe a fountain?

I stepped closer but paused when I realized it wasn't only Loki speaking. A woman's voice was coming back at him in protest of something.

"Who is that new wench you brought here? a mortal? you know Odin will be extremely bothered!" I swallowed thickly and stepped to a nearby bush off of the stone path and peered through some of the leaves to see the two.

Loki was by the fountain with a stony expression as a slightly shorter woman with fiery red hair was throwing her hands up in annoyance her lips curled.

"Sigyn I do not suggest you insult her so confidently-"

"agh, I dont care! you are so frustrating! one moment you treat me as your lover and the next I am no more than a stone under your pathetic boot! I am a daughter of a lord not some peasant from the streets!" She screamed at him.

His lip curled "then stop acting as though you are, your behavior to a guest arriving here is pitiable and your actions when we were courting were despicable as you so boldly flirted with other men. I will not forgive you for your actions and you can harp and scream for as long as you so choose but do not pin that anger on me for I do not care to listen to another word of it!"

I blinked in surprise, I barely heard Loki raise his voice anymore, sure Stark got on his nerves sometimes but he'd never looked so enraged. His pale face heating with red and his fists curled, every inch of his body looked stiff and rigid and his eyes looked wild.

She huffed out a breath and crossed her arms

"You know what? I wouldn't be screaming like this if you just didn't exist!"

My eyes blurred a little when I saw him flinch, my fists were curling at my sides just as his were but my heart broke when his uncurled in defeat.

"What more do you want..."  his face was grim as he stared at her.

"What the hell is wrong with you? I already told you that marriage was extremely important to me- to my family! and suddenly you drop it all?! Why? For her? is that why you left so quick?"

marriage? Loki was supposed to marry this woman?

I curled my hand around the material over my chest, why does my heart hurt at the sound of that?

He straightened up "All you do is whine Sigyn, I canceled it, yes, and for that, I refuse to apologize. You set up your own cancellation as soon as you dove into bed with different men every other night since our agreement. You act as though there were no boundaries and cannot take responsibility for your actions."

I had to cover a hand over my mouth at what I was hearing,

Sigyn was balling now as she screamed and yelled at him "You ruined everything!" Loki stepped back and clenched his jaw "you did that all on your own" he muttered, but when I saw his eyes water I was fed up.

I stepped out and stormed right toward the furious redhead. She looked gobsmacked as I stalked toward her, I didnt once glance at Loki who wasn't far from her as I set my sights on the blubbering mess of a woman before me

"what the hel-"

I wasted no time and with both my hands I pushed her into the fountain.

She let out a squeal and I watched as she stumbled over her feet and splashed into the green-tinted water filled with lily pads.

I huffed and she resurfaced coughing and spluttering her hair clinging to her face and her light pink dress stained with the sludge from the bottom of the fountain.

"Sparrow..." I glanced at Loki who looked at me with glossy eyes, I gulped and looked away.

Was that the wrong thing to do? did I only anger him? I couldn't bear to see him hurt like that I-I had to do something...

"Sorry, I shouldn't have just-"

"no, I-"

"I'LL KILL YOU FOR THAT YOU- YOU- HEATHEN!"
