Right now, I was lying on the bed, silently staring at the ceiling as I contemplated what I was doing in life.

I had left dad's cafe to join the team, but I wasn't a great fighter, and last time just proved something was wrong with me.

I wanted to go to Bruce about It, but I also didn't want to risk whatever was inside of me hurting him or anyone else. It scared me, and I dont know what it is.

Could I run away? No too impulsive, something Im trying hard not to be. I think my only option is to try my hardest, and since Im not working at the cafe anymore and I dont want to be useless in the tower, I'll have to get up to speed to prove I'm good enough.

I'll prove to Loki I'm not a pushover that he can boss around after I apologize for touching his stuff. I grimaced at the sound of the knock on the door; I didn't feel like talking to anyone right now.

But as I dragged myself off of the bed and opened the door, Natasha greeted me, "Hey, I just wanted to tell you there are two girls at the bottom floor asking for you?"

my eyes widened a fraction as I racked my brain for an answer when I refocused Nat was looking at me a little more closely worry suddenly painting her features,

"Sparrow, were you crying?" I wiped under my eyes feeling how they were still a little sore so they must look red

"huh? No, just tired," I shrugged and breezed past her entering the elevator, ignoring the presence of him up on the ledge where the library section was. I slipped on my converse that I'd set near the entrance so I wouldn't forget them.

I pressed the button to go down and flickered a glance up at him to catch his eyes on me before the silver sealed them out of sight.

I let out a breath I'd unconsciously held in and adjusted my hair that was all over the place, settling for tying it back and straightening out my shirt and jeans.

When the doors reopened at the bottom my eyes widened at the two familiar teens, I'd grown up with they were bickering with a nearby guard who looked like he could care less about their tantrum and frantic pointing toward the elevator,

"We know her! Why can't you just let us up? Do you need an ID? I have some gimme a sec-"

"Georgia? Megan?" I called lightly, and both a pair of brown eyes and soft blue ones found their way to mine

"Sparrow!" Georgia, the blonde wearing her pink overalls and the white shirt beneath, came over and embraced me in a tight hug, taller than me, of course, with her magenta ankle boots.

I hugged her back and tried to smile as she smushed my cheeks together, "so I leave for college for a year, and you get into the Avengers tower? No fair!" she giggled cheekily as I laughed, pulling out of her grip.

Megan was the next to embrace me, we were the same height, but she had darker brown hair tied into a neat bun dressed in a chequered slim-fitting dress that hugged her figure. "Hey you, how have you been?" She asked and pulled back,

"ah im good, but what about you guys? Georgia, I need to know all about your college adventures and all your new techniques with that hairstyling intern you had going on, Megan" I bumped her shoulder as she grinned at me and Georgia.

"of course! but first, let's go shopping" the bubbly blonde grabbed both our hands and began to drag us out as Megan groaned "we just came back from shopping!" she argued, but Georgia shrugged it off,

"there's not a bad time to shop, even if it were the apocalypse I would still grab that cute bourie I saw in that new little french shop" I laughed and walked next to them my worries drifting away at their presence.

"so...how'd you guys know I was in the tower?"

"You haven't seen it? You're all over the news! people are already linking you're the cafe cat that they used to see daily walking down the street, someone caught a video of you saving that little girl too!" Megan chirped, and my eyes widened when Goergoia handed me her phone.

The video played as I saw myself as a little black cat zip through traffic, the muffled screams and cries of shock buzzing through the speaker as I saw Loki hold me to him at the end before it cut out.

"and, who is that hunk?" Georgias manicured nail tapped on Lokis figure as I handed back her phone and shrugged idly; maybe it's not the best Idea to mention he was the one that contributed to destroying most of New York City.

"Just another teammate" Megan looked over at me with a raised brow, we had both been in the city that day. It was terrible. The alien creatures labeled chitauri and the massive Leviathans that crashed into buildings as dad, and I huddled away in our apartment before we were rescued by other people fleeing the city.

I still remembered seeing him fly over us when we were running to evacuate, and though the timing was so wrong, I could help but laugh a little when he caught Clint's arrow that exploded, and he got blasted in the other direction.

After that, we left for about four months to my aunt's place in another state before we returned, the damage was still being repaired, but it came back together over some time. About a year later, things seemed to be back in place,

many still grieved for their losses, but thankfully dad and I hadn't suffered any. Aside from the usual customer who no longer returned after the attack.

I shivered at the memory and focused on hanging out with my friends, for now, the last thing I wanted to think about was the brooding Asgardian god back in the penthouse.

"well moving on, the school has been just as draining as ever" Georgia threw up her hands as we stopped at a light, "so many exams and tests to pass and study for I barely have enough time to spend here in the City with you guys!"

Megan nodded "I wanted to come to hang out sooner but Mr Haward wanted me to train extra before putting me in the shop and trusted me with a pair of scissors" she noted and I nodded,

"well you guys seem busy"

They both scoffed as if what I said was unbelievable "not as busy as you missy! already all over the news? saving a little girls life? joining the team of world reknown heroes?"

"Okay okay sh sh sh someone might hear you!"

I pursed my lips and tried to shush her looking around worrieldy incase someone would hear, but she only rolled her eyes "does it matter? they need to know who you are Sparrow, you're a hero!" I blushed and crammed my face into my hands.

"guys... Im not really, I helped the girl because I had to, she would get hurt otherwise and I couldn't just stand back and watch, besides, when I joined in the tower the team didn't know I could shift they took me in as an ordinary cat"

Now I'm just a burden.

I shook off the thoughts.

"whatever you say Sparrow" Megan teased as we entered one of the nearby clothing stores that caught Georgias eye.

I trailed the pink panther as she flickered through the racks of coloured clothes, she always had a keen sense of fashion and so she knew exactly how to style someone, when we were younger she mentioned how she'd loved the idea of helping models with their outfits for photoshoots.

She even used to dress me up and get her mom to take pictures of me posing pretneding to be in a magazine. But I didn't complain, everyone had their quirks and hobbies and I think Georgia's style really suited what she was going for in life.

She held up a couple of shirts and frowned shaking her head before picking out some more and collecting them across her arm,

when she paused and Megan nearly ran into her, she spun to face us with a bright grin split across her pink lip gloss covered lips "let's go clubbing!"

"Wait-"

"Yes!" Megan butt in before I could say anything to stop the idea and squealing broke out between the two as I shook my head "sorry guys Im not up for it-"

"Why not? we barely hang out so why not make the most of it by doing it for old times sake?" Georgia looked at me with pleading eyes and I bit my lip and looked away, she took my shoulders and shook me slightly,

"please Sparrow? one night?" I finally gave in, what harm could letting myself go for one night bring?

"okay okay, clubbing it is" she smiled and squeezed me before letting go, "that means we need dresses" Megan put in and Georgia gave a firm nod suddenly looking professional. When she turned back to the rack she gasped and grabbed a dress from rack thrusting it into my arms.

"if it doesn't fit properly, we'll fix it. go try it on!"

I let out a soft chuckle and left to the changing room before trying it on in front of the mirror.
