-Loki-

I awoke to a pleasant scent filling the air and when my eyes opened I processed the voices in the lower level chatting away idly, looking down I saw the assassin standing next to Sparrow who held herself up on her "crutches"

She was smiling and laughing away as Natasha stirred something in the pan as they conversed, directing my attention further down most of the others were sitting around the glass table below

"ah brother! you have finally awoken!" I clenched my jaw at the sound of his booming voice, so arrogant and loud. I rolled my eyes and looked to the cushion she was perched on last night and saw a small note pad strewn open a stray pen off to the side.

Getting up I bent down and picked up the pad and looked right back at myself roughly sketched out on the paper, she had captured my features perfectly and scribbled in the bottom corner was,

'woke up early and wanted to draw something for you! I hope it looks okay :)' in messy barely eligible handwriting.

Teach how to write adequately, noted.

"hey Loki! come down for breakfast!" Sparrows voice called snapping me out of it as I quickly dropped the note book, she threw me a happy smile and continued chatting with Natasha as they plated up the contents of the pan.

I made my way down the steps and to the bench where the two were plating up. "here ya go" she passed me a plate and sat down on the stool next to me, I rose a brow but looked back at my plate and took a seat eating as she did.

"aww look at them!" a loud coo followed behind us and I tensed up feeling their eyes, Sparrow turned around and narrowed her eyes pointing her fork at Tony,

"zip it" he grinned childishly and leaned back "no can do"

"he's right, Stark isn't the filtered type" Steve noted before cramming some pancake into his mouth as the man in question sat up and whined a "hey!" she smiled and turned back to eating as I did.

But I noticed her hand went to rubbing over her stomach about part way through and she didn't finish her meal, subtly I leaned in a little next to her "are you alright?"

She peered up at me "yeah my stomachs just a little sore, not used to eating so much so quick" she confessed, "it is preferable that you take it slow"

she inclined her head and left her knife and fork on her plate while I finished my food. "Was it good?" she eventually asked and I nodded wordlessly which seemed to bring a new sparkle to her eyes which caught me off guard momentarily,

"it should be, Sparrow got up fairly early to start making it for us and even got the damn A.I to give her all our floor levels so she could come and wake us all up for it" Clint noted and Thor grimaced

"she turned into a feline and clawed at my face" he admitted and Sparrow snorted next to me nearly spitting out her mouthful of juice while I grinned as he fervently touched his cheek which I had just now picked up on the small angry red line across it.

"so what did you want to do today?" Stark inquired to Sparrow who thought it over for a moment "i'd like to go visit dad and tell him how I've been doing here"

"where does he live?" Natasha inquired with a risen brow "oh Johns my dad! well adoptive- from the coffee shop" she informed the assassin while I quietly observed.

"Huh" Bruce finally had said something through the entirety of the meal though he'd mainly been tweaking some sort of device in his fingers for some time now.

"but I'm too tired to change, Im just going to go as a cat" Sparrow shrugged and slid off the stool grimacing as she put weight on her bad ankle. I got up and provided assistance and she looked at me grateful.

"See! just look at that bond!" Tony cried dramatically, I glared at him.

'

"you should not be going alone" I interfered as she hobbled to the elevator and set her crutches next to the doors when they opened, "well Its not too far I should be fine"

"I will come with you" I blurted before I could help myself,

her eyes widened and I looked away, perhaps I was intruding. Father had said I had a knack for doing so, maybe it was better if I stayed behind-

"well I guess I do need someone to get me through the building, a cat cant very well sneak past so many guards and go unnoticed or raise no suspicion, and plus I dont want to walk out in my Pajamas so, sure" I looked at her with a bewildered expression.

She was alright with me going?

In seconds she shifted and a little black cat meowed up at me with bright yellow eyes as she trotted, well partially limped into the elevator, I followed in behind her and pressed the button to the bottom floor.

When we got there and the doors opened I tensed up as per usual, the guard lined the walls of the tower at all hours, which ruined my escape to just simply run out of this place ages ago. My magic was limited so I simply could not teleport far enough without being caught, that and a tracking chip had been put into my body.

Though I had no idea where, because no one would tell me and therefore hinder my ability to remove it myself.

When Sparrow began to wobble again her paw attempting desperately not to set on the floor to assist her walking I walked forward and scooped her up. She let out a startled mew and I surprised myself by chuckling at the little noise she made.

When we were out of the watchful eyes of the guards and along the pathway I took it upon myself to murmer "you are rather good at art" she peered up at me with her wide yellow eyes and pushed her head into my chest as thanks while I kept a steady pace gaining a few glances every now and then.

As the coffee shop came into view she sat up higher in my arms and turned her head to look for her father, when I pushed open the door the jingle above signalled my entrance and the smell of rich coffee flooded my senses.

"Sparrow!" The older gentleman she was after came bustling over, his hair was rather scruffly and a growing stubble on his jaw as he wiped his hands on the black apron covering his torso with a wide friendly smile.

A new sense of warmth flooded his face in a fatherly way as his hands brushed over the cat in my arms, when he finally realised it was I who carried her his eyes widned and he took a step back.

"Loki sir- its good to see you, how are you today?" he quickly spluttered,

I felt a little guilt stir for having him fear me, he was Sparrows father after all even if not biologically there was cleary a strong connection between the two. Besides, he didn't have an aura of hatred about him, a reflection of his daughter.

"I am fine, though she wanted to come and say hello and catch you up on her time in the tower"

he rose a brow and glanced to the small cat who let out a meow, "you-know... already?" I let out a stiff nod and he pursed his lips copying the action,

"we can go upstairs, I've got my intern Ava working the counters so we can chat for a while" I followed after him out through another door and up worn wooden steps between narrow walls until we reached a door at the top that he twisted open with some force.

I didn't miss the little lines on the chipped creamed paint that marked the height of someone small,

'8 years old 50 inches tall'

'10 years old 55 inches tall'

I didn't mistake the messy handwriting and glanced to the cat who stared at the marks with keen recognition further solidifying my guess.

The man cleared his throat and sat down on a nearby wooden chair around a small table. The kitchen was only a few paces away from it and looking around the place was clearly well loved.

A few pictures hung on the chipped cream wallpaper and the wooden floor creaked beneath my shoes as I'd changed into a black suit to blend in. When Sparrow writhed in my arms I carefully set her down and she shifted in a glow of gold and stumbled into me.

"sorry, hard to stand when I shift" she let out a laugh as I fought the rising smile on my face as I stabilized her and she leaned against me for support,

"hey dad!" she grinned and he smiled getting up and bringing her into a hug "how have you been sweetheart?" he asked and pulled back putting his hands on her shoulders,

"good, well I kind of fractured my ankle" she said sheepishly as the mans eyes widened with shock "you what?!"

"okay calm down I can explain, we-were-" she looked at me like I would save her as I simply smirked and leaned against the nearest wall with my arms crossed,

"fighting bad guys!" she ended up concluding with as I scoffed,

"Sparrow! I told you, you need to be more careful-"

"she fell sir, was trying to get some food from the cabinet and landed awkwardly" I interrupted and reveled in the sharp eye Sparrow cast me pretending to to a cut throat motion with her finger as her father was focused on me.

He seemed to blow out a sigh of relief and Sparrow instantly stopped the action when his attention as back. to her "and here I thought you were purposefully getting yourself hurt, why didn't you tell me in the first place?" he smiled as she rubbed the back of her neck,

"its embarrassing dad, I thought I was getting good at my landings but the bench was slippery..." he pat her shoulder and shook his head,

"its alright, but you really should not be standing on it, come come sit down" he directed her to a chair and he even looked up to me and offered me a seat but I declined and remained standing as Sparrow rectied her time in the tower,

Avoiding the topic of hiding out on the roof for three days clearly to avoid worrying her father.

A while later the two had decided to part and Sparrow shifted back into her cat form, with a parting pat from her father we descended the stairs and out of the shop. She let out a yawn and snuggled further into my arms.

Knowing I wouldn't receive a response I still said "someone seems tired, perhaps next time you should not burden yourself with waking so early to feed the rest of the team" She simply let out a light huff,
