Third person's POV

"You sure are one hell of an hungry ugly creature." You said appearing behind the demon with your purple nichirin sword out about to cut its head off but he easily dodge it by jumping backward.

You click your tongue annoyed of the outcome and landing behind of his dead victim who was missing half of its body. " "Disgusting." You mumbled to yourself  looking at the demon licking its bloody hands while staring at you as you glance to his victim once again, organs were visible to see under the night sky and by the size of the body and texture of the skin, it must be a teenage women.

'Poor one, I was too late to save you. Gomen.' You thought looking down at the half body of the victim before you.

A single loud heavy footstep made you look up just in time to block the demon's sharp claws. "Don't you dare interrupt my meal." He growled pushing you backwards. Stepping to the right, you duck down and swept him off of his feet using your sword you cut his hands in the process before back flipping when you saw how he regenerate in a blink of an eye.

Frowning you stood up holding your sword on the other hand and shake the aching other one that previously hold the sword and eyeing the demon in front of you. "How many people have you devoured?" He laughed maniacally at your question giving you a grin as if he's looking down on you and this action of his irritates you.

"More than I can remember, I think half of it was a demon slayers like you." You scowled at his reply before pulling out a knife you hid at the sleeve of your haori and throwing it to the demon before running towards him. The knife were merely a distraction. Once he took the bait by letting it stab him, his body swallowed the knife before running towards you with great speed, claws were screaming for flesh. You dodged to the side at the nick of time, you fall to the ground as you were squatting with one hand to the ground and facing the demon's back before you pull another knife out and aim it in his eye when the time he immediately turn around to face you which successfully caught him off guard as he took a step back to dodge it due to how fast you threw the knife.

You took the chance and cut off both of his arms in a single move and before he can even retort an attack, he's head were already falling down to the ground. He didn't have the time to process what happened the moment you swiftly sliced his head off.

'Curse...you...de...n slay..s.' The demon thought as he finally processed what just happened, looking at your back with such anger, his head had already touch the ground and you had sheathed your sword before turning around and this time, you were the one who's looking down at him.

(Y/n) POV

I let out a soft sigh as the remains of the demon had finally turned into ashes and dispersed into the air. Cracking my back I let out a satisfied groan as my whole body ache for traveling and doing missions, and this was my fifteenth mission in whole four weeks.

Sighing once again I pull out the Phoenix hairpin in my hair, I rearrange my hairstyle into a bun before placing it back in and facing away walking towards the demon's victim. Reaching up to the corpse I cover up my nose as the organs that was sprawled out produce such foul odor.

The sight was enough to traumatized someone who hadn't saw such a brutal way of death.  Looking away, I started to dig up a grave and burying the remains of the victim deep down from the ground before placing a flower that I pick nearby over the grave. Kneeling down to the ground I closed my eyes and fold my hands together to pray for the corpse, although its not my nature but something inside me spark me to do so, also as a respect for their culture.

Standing up, I turned on my heels and began to walk on the opposite direction entering the sea of tall trees. Just then, Taro came flying to my shoulder.

"Well, nice to see you again Taro. Any message?" I asked petting the head of my kasugai crow with my index finger before covering both of my ear for what was coming.

"Caw! Caw! Nasumi (y/n)! You were ordered by the master to head west towards the wisteria house! Caw!" My kasugai crow yelled beside my covered ear. "I already told you call me (y/n), besides i didn't obtain any kind of injuries in the past fifteen mission you force me to, so why go to the wisteria house?" I asked putting my hands at the back of my head whistling looking everywhere except Taro who's staring at me intently from my shoulder. That until he snap.

"CAW! YOU'RE THE ONE FORCE ME TO ASK MASTER AND GIVE YOU MISSION NONSTOP!! CAW!! BOKE! (Y/N) BOKE!!" Taro yelled in anger while continuously pecking me. "Ow ow ow!" I protected my head with my hands from Taro's beak as he peck me without mercy.

'The hell, I didn't know a talking crow can have such temper.' I thought stopping Taro from pecking my head. I can say its true, I do ask him to ask the master for more mission but, its bribe not force. Hehe.

"Hai, hai, gomen." I said rubbing my aching hand from Taro's merciless pecking, good thing my head and hair is still in one piece.

Continuing my walk, the crack of the dawn were already visible. The chirp sound of the birds waking up from their nest for food catch my ears. Speaking of food, I'm quite famished.

"Uh, hey Taro." I called out towards the angry crow from my shoulder. "Do you, perhaps know if there are any nearby village where can stop for a while?" I asked but Taro kept silent refusing to answer and i sigh. "Come on Taro tell me~ I'll give you anything you want.~" I bribed knowing he'll take the offer as the both of us had something in common. We both can't refuse the word food. Who can blame me, I love food. Perhaps food is my only weakness.

Catching his full attention he began to flap his raven wings, "Caw! Caw! Up to the Northeast East! Caw!" Upon hearing his reply, I grinned and without second thoughts I ran towards the village Taro speaks.

******

"Well fudge! You.....didn't tell me.....that its....two hour run.....and four....hours walk...to reach...this...village!!" I said in between pants while glaring at the crow who sit on my shoulder the entire time of my marathon.

I can tell this crow is grinning at me base on how his beak tilt up and his chest puff posture.

'The nerve of this bird.' I thought with my eyes closed while the corner of my lips twitch in irritation. Sighing, I rolled my eyes before fixing my disheveled clothing and my hair into a half bun with the hairpin. The village street were already busy with people working everywhere with the sun high up to the sky.

Strolling through the streets with Taro in my shoulders, I glance from side to side, memorizing every corner and inch of the place and the faces of people taking a glance at me.

Passing an alleyway, I smell a faint scent making me on high alert that I immediately grab the sheaths of my sword and my head instantly snap towards the alley. But, before I can pinpoint what the scent was, it had already disappeared. 'Hnm, was it my imagination? Or I'm just getting anxious? That's Ridiculous. I'm pretty sure it wasn't an imagination.' I thought narrowing my eyes and loosening my grip from the sword.

"Caw! What is it? (Y/n) What is it? Caw!" Taro yelled surprising me with how loud his voice were and it attract attention of the people near us. "Ehehe don't mind me." I said dismissing the people who's staring back at me before proceeding my walk in the street. My mind kept wondering about the faint scent in the alleyway but decided to brush it off as I smell the mouth watering scent of delicious food.

Meanwhile

"Tanjiro~ are you sure your crow told you that I was included to do this mission? We just completed one three days ago.~" Zenitsu whined tugging onto Tanijiro's sleeves.

"Yes Zenitsu, Chuntaro also said it." Tanjiro replied as they kept walking towards their assigned mission. "Hey, Gonpachiro! Monitsu! Where are we going?" Inosuke asked, oblivious of their purpose. "You idiot, we've been walking all this time without you knowing where we going?" Zenitsu yelled towards Inosuke. "You wanna fight!? And who you calling idiot? I'm the god of the mountain!" Inosuke yelled back puffing his chest.

Before they could start bickering, Tanjiro interject. "Actually we're heading towards the village in the Northeast. Rumors says that people began disappearing during nighttime." Zenitsu sighed in relief upon hearing what Tanjiro said that it was located in a village not a mountain while Inosuke silently stare at them, totally not getting what he said.

"We better arrive their before nightfall as soon as possible." Tanjiro said and Inosuke head stand out thinking Tanjiro challenged him in a race as he already sprint ahead yelling, "Hahaha I'll win this race!! And defeat you Gonpachiro!!"

"WHA- HEY INOSUKE!! WAIT FOR US! THIS IS NOT A RACE!!" Zenitsu and Tanjiro yelled in unison as they ran following Inosuke.

Back to (y/n)

I was sitting inside the diner of the village gulping one big bowl of ramen and earning shock looks from the other costumer sitting inside from the six big empty bowl at my side.

"Delish!" I yelled slamming the now empty bowl to the table, "Give me another bowl and a plate of meat." I yelled happily towards the speechless waiter who's staring at me with his jaw drop and eyes widened. "Uh, y-yes r-right away." He stuttered before scurrying away to prepare my order as ifaced the people staring at me. "Problem?" I asked with my cold voice as they all faced away and i scoff.

Resting my chin at the palm of my hand, I called out to my eating raven crow. "Hey Taro." Catching his attention he stop eating and lift his head looking at me. "Say, after completing fifteen mission in whole four weeks, what's my rank now?" I asked playing with my chopstick.

"Caw! Fifteen mission completed in short time your rank raised from mizunoto to Tsuchinoe! Caw!" Taro replied flapping his wings before continuing to eat.

"Tsuchinoe....three rank below from kinoe." I mumbled out. Few seconds pass the waiter finally come out with my order and my eyes glisten with delight at the sight of the delicious looking meat in front of me. Who could've thought that this small village had delicious looking food.

"PLEASE FATHER BELIEVE ME! SHE SUDDENLY DISAPPEAR DURING OUR WALK THAT NIGHT!" I stop myself midway of eating as i heard commotion happening outside of the building.

Curios, i pull out a money from my pocket and lay it down the table paying my meal as i grab Taro from the table before walking out of the building seeing people gather in a circle.

"You brat! you dare lie to me? You killed your sister that night and tell she just disappear!?" A man in his late 40s shouted towards a teenage boy who i presume around 20, same with my age.

"Father please!" The boy pleaded ignoring the stares and looks they're getting from the people around. If i were him, i won't have a face to show.

"Don't ever call me father ever and don't you ever come back! I already disowned you as my son!" The father yelled once again pushing his son to the ground and about to kick but, i threw a knife at his feet stopping his attempt.

"Who are you!?" The old man yelled pointing at me which i ignored as I walk up to his son. "You ok?" I asked helping him up to his feet. "This is not your business! Don't interfere!" His father yelled sending a punch to me and I dodge elbowing him at the gut by reflex making him fall to the ground.

"I thought you had disowned him. You said it yourself, so I had the right to interfere." I said smirking as I crossed my arms with pride while Taro had long flew away earlier.

"You...." The man point his finger at me in anger before storming off as the audience who came to watch dispersed.

******

"Uh, thank you for earlier (y/n)-san." The teenage boy who introduced as Shiba So said as we were both inside the same building I was in earlier.

"Don't mention it. I was curious about earlier, what does your father mean by you killed your sister that night?" I asked in my serious tone eyeing his figure. "I didn't kill my sister! We were just walking home that night when she suddenly disappear!" Shiba defended leaning to the table looking at me.

"That is why, I want to know your whole story about what really happened that time. Was this the first time that it ever happened here?" I asked pushing the question to him. "I don't know, but I heard rumors that several people had been disappearing each every night since last week till now." He paused

"And rumors also says they were taken by the creature of the dark."
