Luckily, I didn't cross any teachers. I might not be intimidated by them, but I really didn't feel like going to detention today.

When I finally reached the parking lot where I was to meet with Kelly, I saw her standing next to a small white Honda on the other side of the parking.

I walked towards her as if I was in one of those movie senes where there is an explosion behind the main character, and the main character walks away totally badass. That was a level of self confidence I aspired to reach.

When I got to talking distance from Kelly, she said wriggling her eyebrows,

"Come on, let's go somewhere a bit less suspicious"

She wasn't wrong, the school parking lot did seem like a pretty suspicious place. She opened her the drivers door of the Honda and got in. I got in next to her.

"I need coffee first" Kelly sighed, and I nodded. We drove to the nearest Starbucks drive through in silence so thick I could have sliced it with a knife.

She ordered a coffee and I didn't. I had already had 2 cups of coffee today, any more coffee and I would be a bouncing, hyper, monkey for the rest of the day.

"Ok hun, so I know you don't know me well yet, and we've been friends for a day and a half, but if there is one thing you should know about me, is that I don't even have the patience to wait before the cookies are in the oven before eating so much dough that I don't have enough to even make the cookies. So please just tell me what's wrong?" I ranted before giving her my best puppy eyes.

Something you should know is that my puppy eyes always fail me. But I kept on seeing other people do it, and successfully at that, so there was still hope.

Kelly shook her head at me and laughed.

Stupid puppy eyes failed me again.

Just then Kelly got her order, and we parked in the Starbucks parking lot. She still hadn't answered me, and I was really starting to get worried.

"Ok, so let me start here. What do you know about Steel?" Kelly asked me, stirring her coffee not not meeting my gaze.

"I know that he's an asshole, and that he's in a gang." Lies. I knew much, much more than that. But Kelly wouldn't want to know all of the fucked up shit he did to me.

"Well, you already know the basics, but then again who doesn't." Kelly said huffing a laugh. She cleared her throat.

"Do you know why The Wolfs is such a rich and famous gang?" Kelly asked and I shook my head. Lies again. I did know why. But why on earth did Kelly of all people know that.

"The reason they are so big and dangerous, is because they are the biggest gang that sells women for.... for.... well you know. They are big on the human trafficking." Kelly's voice cracked on the last words.

I knew all of this already, but when Kelly looked at me to see my reaction, I remembered that I was supposed to show emotions, and act like I didn't know.

"Oh my god....." I said, looking forward. I was a shit actress, so I didn't know if I was going to be able to pull this off. Killing people was fine by me, but having to act was just not my thing.

But how on earth did Kelly know about this? Then it all clicked. They way she cried when me and Silvia first met her. That she had told us that she hated pretending. But that she still did exactly what Steel said.

Kelly was Steel's sex slave.

I wasn't going to confront her about it. That was something that she had to tell me when she felt ready for it, but at least now I knew.

"And, Lilith," Kelly said, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah?"

"Please stay away from Steel. I, ummm, found out he wants to know more about you and make you his. Don't let that happen." The second those words came out of Kelly's mouth, I knew that I had a real one. A real friend. One that cared about me, and one that wouldn't judge me.

And I only knew her for a day and a half.

"Thank you so much for looking out for me Kelly." I said, "You have no idea how much that means to me. I know that you have your own reasons for hating Steel, but I don't exactly like him either, so hey, looks like we have one more thing in common!" I didn't answer her warning to stay away from Steel as I couldn't promise that.

She smiled a kind warm smile.

After that intense heart to heart, we drove back to school. Chatting about school work, and about the weather these days.

"Oh, and Kelly," I said turning back when I got out of the car on the school parking lot. Kelly raised her eye brows in question.

"If you want some help with getting free, all you gotta do is give me a call. Don't underestimate me just yet." I said, and closed the door.

I wanted to help Kelly out, even though she now probably knew that I know what she was to Steel.

I walked towards my car, dismissing the idea of going back to school to finish my day. There was literally zero use for me to go back inside now.

I got in my car, and started driving towards my house. Turning on the music to it's max volume, and singing along. God's I loved music.

When I arrived home, I rolled onto the couch like a dead bug and checked my phone.

I had 2 messages.

1:
"Hey. Where are you?" From Silvia

2:
"Thank you" From Kelly

I told Silvia that I had ditched class, and that I would see her beautiful ass tomorrow. She sent me a thumbs up emoji and a rolling eyes emoji.

Then I sent Kelly a GIF of Maui from Moana singing 'You're welcome' over and over again.

Then I spent three hours wasting my life on tik tok and Instagram.

Ah, that is most definitely the highlight of my day. Doing nothing.

That night while I was in bed, the dreams weren't just about the terrible things that happened to me. But also the terrible things Kelly must have done, and about all of those poor girls that were in the trafficking system.

Once I had been this sweet innocent little girl, thinking that life was all sunshine and rainbows. Then shit happened. And I saw the world for what it really is. A fucking mess.

Now I know this chapter is a bit shorter then what you all are used to from me, but now at least you know about Steel's business.

Do you all prefer shorter chapters but more often, or longer chapters but less often? (Updating I mean)
