So plan was totally and completely fucked. But I guess that was life right? It basically fucked up every plan that you ever had and replaced it with misery. Yeah, fine I'll admit I was a little salty that Steel had come to crash my murder party.

Not only that, but when Kelly, Rachel and I stormed inside like the badass bitches we were, it wasn't like what we expected. The girls held captive were all bleeding and blue as they were still tied up.

Silvia was looking around, trying to find a way out of this mess with Steel's inner crew surrounding her. I couldn't spot Charlie anywhere. Fuck.

Kelly raised her gun to start shooting, and so did I, when we hear a scream and we both froze. Ice coded my veins. Goosebumps raced up my arms.

I looked up, where the sound of Charlie's scream came from. And there he stood. As if he was the king of the fucking world.

Steel stood at the railing of the stairs, grinning like a psycho. But not the cool psycho like me, an ugly psycho. And in his hold, with one arm around her middle and one holding a knife to her throat, stood a shaking Charlie. My eyes widened, and I could hear my pulse in my ears.

"You shoot my men, this pretty little thing dies." He said in a sing song voice. This shit was only fun when I did it. I slid back into the person who was always ready to kill. The Shadow.

I decided not to say anything, just to unnurve him. I didn't put my gun down, and neither did Kelly or Silvia. There was no fucking way Charlie was going to die on us now. Not now, and not ever.

She was a part of this family, and I don't know how I could function again normally without her. It wasn't an option. She wasn't dying. But how on earth was I going to get us out of this? We were surrounded, and if I tried to fight, Charlie's blood would coat the floor.

I might have a small thing to hold against Steel, but it wouldn't be enough. The quiet was so loud my ears rang.

"Now tell me pet. Why the fuck are you here?" He said to Kelly, completely dismissing me from his gaze. Kelly kept her poker face in place, and I couldn't be more proud at her for that.

She did the same as me and kept quiet. Steel wanted answers, even if they were stupid. Like why Kelly hated him and was here to help these girls. Like come on dude, you literally fucked up her entire life.

Steel shrugged as if not caring that she didn't obey him, but I could see the irritation in his eyes. He then looked at Rachel, and his gaze hardened. I mean, I get it, his own mother who had done nothing but love him was here with his enemy. Het hands shook, but she stayed by our side. She was a damn warrior.

"I don't even want to know." Steel said, his tone bored. But he was shit at hiding is emotions, and I could clearly see it pissed him right the fuck off.

"IF YOU ALL WONT FUCKING TALK ILL SPILL HER BLOOD" Steel bellowed, pressing the knife even harder to Charlie's throat, and blood trickled down from where he was cutting her. Just enough to hurt like a bitch but not to kill.

My palms started to sweat as I looked for a way out, but with about 40 guns pointed at my face and Charlie being where she was, it was difficult.

"My dearest," I said, sarcasm dripping off every word. And looking Steel in the eyes.

"You do all of this for no reason but your own gain. I mean even your inner circle doesn't get anything out of helping you except your company. And we all know your company sucks. So truly, I ask you, why should anyone ever help you?" I ask.

Me saying that was a for benefits. It makes Steel question the loyalty of his inner circle, and it makes the inner circle question their loyalty to Steel. And I was also keeping Steel busy so he wouldn't slice Charlie's throat.

"Because I'm the best gang leader out there." He said, even puffing out his chest a little. Little dick energy right there. Honestly it was pathetic.

"And they're loyal to me. They already are." He continued not looking at me anymore. But when I looked around at his inner circle, I could see that they didn't agree. Hm, apparently they didn't like Steel as much as they should. Good for them, a weapon for me.

"Jake, have you ever raped or abused a woman?" I said calmly to him, awaiting his answer.

"Never. None of us have. Except bring them from one place to the other." He said.

"Do you earn money?" I asked and he shook his head. And I frowned. It was normal for gang members to earn at least some money, especially the inner circle.

"Has he ever said anything truly nice to you?" I said, raising an eye brow in offer. He seemed to understand and lowered his gun with shaking hands.

"No. He wasn't." He said roughly.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Steel said to me, and I took a small risk that Steel wasn't going to slit Charlie's throat. At least not yet. He still wanted something from us, and he knew he wouldn't get it if he killed Charlie.

"Lower your weapons." Jake said to the rest of the inner circle, and they all did. Apparently, they were far more loyal to Jake than to Steel. Just like I'd hoped.

"Don't lower your fucking weapons you idiots." Steel said, and reached for a weapon besides the one he was threatening Charlie's life with, this was our chance, and Charlie knew it. The arm that was around Charlie's middle loosened slightly to grab for his gun and she grabbed her chance.

She freed her arm and elbowed him in the gut. I wanted to see what Charlie and Steel were doing, but most of the inner circle had stopped lowering their weapons, looking at Steel and I inwardly grimaced. Aw fuck.

I shoot the guy closest to me and he fell with a cry. Kelly quickly covered for me, and I looked back up at Steel and Charlie, ready to shoot the mother fucker. But they were gone again. Double fuck.

Silvia scrambled to protect Rachel, and they both killed left and right. Kelly was still covering for me, letting me get ahold of the situation.

"Charlie darling, do whatever you can to get outside." I said into the earpiece, and then grabbed my beloved dagger. I liked to do this one messily. I gave them an offer, and they didn't take it. Fine, they could die for all I cared.

I stabbed and stabbed and stabbed, laughing hysterically while doing so. Kelly was shooting people left and right, as was Silvia.
And Rachel-

"I'm running outside now, he's close behind me" Charlie's panting voice came through the ear. I calmed my nerves for her, she would be fine. Once she got outside she could get in the bullet prove van and be safe again.

My hands were warm from the fresh blood, and I relished in all the death I was creating. I shared a smile with Kelly, and I memorized her grinning bloody face to my memory box forever.

Everything happened in slow motion. First I saw Charlie sprint down the stairs, Steel hot on her heals with a gun moving wildly in his hand. Charlie's eyes wide and fearful. Steel was determined to kill her.

I saw it happen. But I didn't process it. I couldn't. There was no way. No way this could happen. Not like this. And yet I knew it really had happened.

Steel shoot a bullet at Charlie.

And she ducked.

The bullet hit Rachel in her head.

Blood and gore splattered out of her head.

She fell lifeless to the floor.

My voice was raw and I realized I was screaming.

"NOOOOOO, NO, NO, NO! RACHEL! NO!"

My heart shattered while Rachel's hollow eyes stared back into mine.
