Sometimes I wish I could have no responsibilities, buy a van, and travel the world without worrying about anything. Yea ok, I wish that all the time.

My life wasn't that bad, I mean, I was rich as hell. Even though its blood money, it's still money. And I had some people that I talked to sometimes, so I wasn't completely alone. Nevermind the fact that the people I talked to always died by my hands a few seconds later.

But that was what life was like as an assassin. I could try to have friends, sure, no one would stop me, but that made them a weakness for me. And I couldn't have weaknesses. Not anymore.

I was in the kitchen making breakfast when my phone rang. I ignored it. There was no way I was putting anything else before food. Food was my reason for living. My phone rang again.

I hummed along with the music of my ringtone. It was the song Bad Blood by Taylor Swift. After I put together my breakfast,(which was just a pile of pancakes and way too much syrup,) and put it on the table, I finally checked who was calling me non stop.

I smirked when I saw who it was. Kyle. Oh, he was going to try and kill me for making him wait for this long to answer. Kyle was not a man who liked to be kept waiting. I put my phone on the table and sat down. I waited for a few more rings before answering. Just to piss him off more.

"Shadow." He said, not bothering with a hello. Honestly, doesn't he have any manners whatsoever? Sure I was the one who kept him waiting, but he didn't know that. So he was the one being rude.

"Why hello, Kyle, absolutely wonderful hearing from you again!" I said enthusiastically, with a bit more than a hint of sarcasm, taking a bite from my pancakes. I wasn't letting Kyle get in the way of me eating.

"Shadow, are you alone?" Just to be clear, my name hasn't suddenly changed to Shadow. That's just my code name. I mean, who would be so stupid to give their real name to the entire world. I sighed.

"Yea, yea, I'm alone. What do you want?" I was done with him already. I had better things to do than listen to him. Like eating more pancakes.

"I need you to go to school." I almost choked on the pancake I had stuffed in my mouth. Why the heck would this dumbass want me to go to school? Luckily for me, Kyle explained himself:

"I need you to have a proper education like the rest of the population. If you don't then you'll never fit in, and you'll fail a lot of easy jobs."

"I've never failed a job in my entire life." I hissed at him. Oh wait, let me introduce you to Kyle. Kyle is the person giving me jobs to assassinate people. It's hard for me to get in contact with the clients directly as I was still underage. Not like that ever stopped them from hiring me though.

"I know, but that will be an issue when you get older. Just go to school Shadow, it's not that hard." Kyle said exasperated. The only reason I didn't kill him yet was that he had clients. But if he kept talking to me like this I was just going to have to find a solution to that mild problem and kill him anyway.

I hung up on him and sighed. Screw him for being right. I was going to have to go to school. I turned my focus back on my pancakes, and my mood lifted a bit. Pancakes. Yay.

A few hours later, I was in the shopping mall getting the stuff I needed for my first day of school. I had made some phone calls, and I would be going to school tomorrow for the first time in years. I everything I needed, plus a new pair of shoes. One could never have enough shoes.

I got back to my house and drove my car into the garage. When I went inside I sighed at the mess from this morning. I had left all of my supplies for making pancakes scattered around as if a hurricane came into the house and only went into the kitchen.

I left all of my shopping bags upstairs in my bedroom and quickly cleaned up the mess. By quickly, I mean that I tried to do it, but eventually spent 10 minutes trying to clean it all up and giving up to grab all the chocolate I had left and sat on the counter with my phone for the next two hours.

Then I realized I had spent two hours on my phone, and cleaned the mess. A bit. Oh well, it was going to have to do. Even though I just ate more chocolate than I ever thought possible to fit in my stomach, I was hungry again and it was dinner time, so I grabbed a pizza from the fridge and put it in the oven.

1 hour later, after which I spent another 30 minutes on my phone, I went to bed. Hey, don't judge me. I just had nothing better to do. Anyway, I slipped into bed, and I started to dread the next day. I saw the movies, and read the books, and I knew that I was probably going to get bullied.

I know that I'm an assassin and all, but being around other people just sucked, and this time if people are irritating or mean to me, I can't just kill them on the spot. I wasn't really afraid of what they did to me. But I was afraid of how I might react. I wanted to stay under the radar, and that plan wouldn't really work out if I killed everyone that talked to me.

I fell asleep, and just like every other night, my nightmares started right on cue.

Screaming. Guns. Blood. Dead.
