Training finishes after two hours, we're all sore and almost everyone starts heading back to the pack house for some lunch

I lock eyes with Matt and he nudges his head toward the trees. I follow him, making sure no one follows me, Shauna looks at me for a moment but walks away

I reach Matt and sigh "so.." I say, bowing my head which I never do

Matt crosses his arms and leans against a tree "you know the risk your taking, Kyan?" He questions, aggressively

I side glance at him "it was an accident, I don't even know what happened" I defend "I don't even see her that way, it was just a stupid mistake" I pause "it was a lapse in judgement, I've spent so much time... well" I pause, not wanting to say it "it was just a natural reaction"

He raises his eyebrow "listen, I believe you but Cade won't and if Electra says anything.." he trails off

"I know, man" I sigh again "she turns eighteen in a few weeks, by then I'm sure she will find her mate and Cade will get off my back"

He uncrosses his arms and pats me on the shoulder "maybe you should settle down with Shauna? You two seem to have a good thing going"

I shake my head "I can't, I just.." I pause thinking of how badly I had wanted to meet my mate on my eighteenth birthday "I need more time, she might come along any day and I just can't do it right now"

He nods in understanding "lets get some Lunch" he says as we both make our way back to the house

I spent the rest of the day avoiding both Electra and Cade. I'm glad Matt promised to keep my secret. I only hoped that Electra didn't say anything

I awoke the next morning to a knock on my door "Kyan?" Electra called out "did you still want to go on a run?"

As much as it pained me I ignored her, I rolled over in my bed and forced my eyes closed. She didn't knock again.

I laid there for another ten minutes before I decided I had avoided her long enough, I threw on some sweatpants and opened my door

"Ha! I knew you were faking it!" I heard Electra shout next to me, I groaned, wishing I had stayed in bed just that little bit longer

She had gone quiet, I looked down at her and caught her staring at my chest. I cleared my throat and she looked up at me wide eyed before turning away. A blush appearing on her face and I smirked

Without looking up at me she muttered a "come on, lets go on that run" before walking ahead of me, noticing I wasn't following she turned back to look at me "you coming?"

I groaned in frustration but reluctantly I followed her down the hallway and outside. This wasn't helping the whole 'me keeping away from her' thing, but I couldn't think of a liable excuse to tell her I didn't want to hang around her anymore, not to mention it would hurt her feelings and I didn't want to do that.

She stopped just on the tree line and looked over to me "so um, I'll go get changed over there" she said pointing toward the same place she changed last time

I started stripping off my pants where I stood when she was far enough away, taking note to be faced away from her. I threw my clothes on the ground and shifted

Electra appeared at my side not long after, we just ran and it was nice. It was good for building stamina and having some company was nice too.

We did this for the next few days, getting up early so we didn't miss training later in the day. Part of being higher up in the pack meant that we didn't work in jobs, we worked to protect the pack, Electra being the exception with her being the Alphas daughter, she had no obligation to do any of this, but she still did it anyway and I admired her for that

It came to Friday, we had agreed that the weekends we would skip our runs as we had no training those days either. We set off as we usually did, keeping a steady pace with each other until I felt Electra nudge my side, I side glanced at her and noticed her grinning

She bumped sides with me again and then took off in front of me running as fast as she could. The need to chase perked up inside of me and I bolted after her. Picking up pace quickly I noticed I was catching her

When I was close enough I jumped toward her, knocking her down and me with her. We rolled a few times before we stopped, me laying on top of her and our snouts almost touching

She laughed in my mind, I laughed too and then her wolf face turned serious before she licked my snout

I pulled back, shocked by the sudden wetness on my face, that shock suddenly turned to realisation at what she had just done, this wasn't good

I pulled away from her, her eyes widening at my sudden movements as she rolled herself over and stood up. She looked into my eyes and I looked away

"We should head back now" I spoke to her in her mind, she nodded her head and almost looked like she was sulking as she walked

We made it back to our clothes and I shifted quickly, pulling my pants on and waited for Electra to appear

She came over to me and smiled "I guess I'll see you at the party tonight?" She asked

I nodded my head and told her I'd see her later. I went to get some breakfast, all the while my head swimming with thoughts of Electra and what had happened

I didn't know what to do or say to her. Had she meant what she did or was it an accident just like mine? Either way it couldn't happen again
