The dungeon was not how I expected it. I expected cells with dirty, old silver bars. I imagined it being dark, and cobwebs in every corner. I imagined, people on the cells screaming, "HELP ME!" This dungeon was the total opposite of what I imagined.

The walls were a light gray. We walked on a bright Crimson carpet. Instead of cells, they were rooms. Not a cobweb was in sight.

"Wow!" I said, quietly.

Mason chuckled behind me.

"This is the dungeon?" I asked, looking around, awed.

"Yup."

"It's beautiful!" I replied, looking at the rooms that held the prisoners.

This is more like a luxury hotel than a dungeon! I thought to myself.

Mason cleared his throat which caused me to turn around.

He was stopped in front of a cell/room, looking at me. That must be where my dad is staying.

It took a deep breath and slowly walked to him. I turned to face the door examined it.

It was a tall, metal door. I slowly reached my hand out and touched it. It was smooth and cool to the touch.

I took a deep breath and looked at Mason.

"You ready?" He asked, wrapping his arm around my waist.

I looked through the small window on the door and stared at my dad. he was sitting on a chair with his arms folded. He was staring at something on the wall but I couldn't tell what.

I sigh and nod my head.

He looks to the guard to our left and nods.

The guard walks in front of us and opens the metal door. As soon as the guard unlocked the door, my dad was on his feet and walking towards us. When the door was all the way open, there were bars made of silver.

"Allie!" My dad yelled, running and grabbing the bar.

The bars made a sizzling sound and he hissed before taking his hands off the bar.

"Honey, are you okay?" He asked, looking between Mason and me.

Is he serious? Am I okay? He freaking shot me and he wants to know if I'm okay?!? I am anything but okay right now! I am angry, I am hurt, and I am frustrated!

"Why did you do that dad?" I asked as tears filled my eyes. They threatened to fa but I held them back.

"I- I didn't mean to aim for you." He stated giving Mason a death look.

"I don't care. I don't care if it wasn't meant for me! You were trying to kill my mate! That is unacceptable!"

Ever since I was little, I have always heard you and mom telling me stories and talking about mates. About how wonderful it was to find yours and now that I've found mine, your trying to take him away."

The tears started to fall as I continued. "What if that happened to you? What if someone tried to kill mom? What if someone did kill mom? How would you feel? You told me that you would love me no matter what! You said you would be happy with what I choose. Whatever happened to that?"

I looked up at Mason and kissed him on the cheek.

"I love Mason and nothing will change that. The moon goddess paired us together for a reason."

I saw my dads eyes were wet.

"Allie, I'm sorry."

"You should be." I replied before walking to the exit of the dungeon.

As soon as Mason and I walked out of the dungeon, I curled up in Masons chest and cried my eyes out.

"It's okay, Allie." Mason said as he rubbed his hand up and down my back.

"Allie? What's wrong?" Greyson asked, staring at Mason and I down the hall.
