The reality was starting to set in that I was pregnant and boy was this kid reminding me of that every morning. The morning sickness was on and off most days, but it was worth it when seeing Hayden looking at me when he thought I didn't see. I had waited another two weeks before telling Sean and Tyson, I would announce it to my parents when I went to visit them for thanksgiving. Nothing would be too noticeable for them to know anything upon my arrival.
I washed my mouth out as I pulled my hair back. Hopefully I could join my fiancé at the table now for food.

"Can I get you something else love?" Hayden stood up while I motioned for him to sit down.

"I got it, you eat since you need to leave soon for work. You can cater to me when I'm unable to move months from now," I teased.

"And I can't wait to do so," he winked.

Every time I saw baby items at any store it made my heart flutter while trying to figure out what we would do for a nursery. The bedroom we had for squirt was currently an office since we were living as simple as possible until I could score a better job. I liked my job but I could find something that paid more.

"You realize my parents or your parents may move here so they can see their first grandchild."

"Unless Nina gets a kid yes. Squirt is going to be spoiled."

"We need to clear space for the nursery within the next few months slowly."

"We will baby, don't worry. And I'll sell my car and look into getting something more family oriented."

I came back with some toast and a glass of juice. "Babe, we can worry about that later. My car is family oriented enough."

"I know, but before they arrive I'll make sure to get something that at least has a backseat and isn't so low to the ground." He got up and kissed my head. "I'm already wanting to tell people that we're expecting."

"You should be the one pregnant," I teased him as I took a bite. "I just want to get through this first trimester and then we can go baby announcing crazy."

"Right in time for thanksgiving."

"The timing is very ironic for sure. Hopefully I can wait to have it until after your finals in the spring."

Hayden shook his head, "with my luck you'll go into labor the moment I start my first final."

"I just hope you find me just as flattering when I have to alter this wedding dress," I teased but still serious.

Hayden brushed a stray hair away from my face, "you're even more beautiful. You may not see it but you're glowing Dasha. Being pregnant suits you, morning sickness and all."

I fought back tears and just smiled while munching on my toast. He was way too good to me. Squirt was going to be one lucky kid that was for sure.

"I can't believe I'm going to have to tell my parents they'll be grandparents. I'm sure they were assuming that wouldn't come for another four years or so."

Hayden chuckled, "my parents have been dropping hints for so long between Nina and I. I'm sure my mom will cry when she finds out."

"At least one set will be prepared." I rested my hands on my bump and just stared at the rest of my toast, it didn't look appetizing anymore.

"Are you sure I can't get you anything else?"

"No, I'll finish this and see what I can keep down. I may just be drinking smoothies for the next few weeks if anything."

Hayden smiled and went to put up his dishes. "Shall we go somewhere this weekend? Do you work?"

"I work today but no I'm off Saturday and Sunday. Where would you like to go?"

"I was thinking we could just drive to this little place I saw that was a "mom and pop" type bed and breakfast for the weekend. There's plenty of things to do around the area and we could go explore some depending upon how you feel."

"That sounds amazing! Should I ask Rose and Sean to watch the dogs?"

"Sure, and if they can't we'll take them with us." He grabbed his bag and slipped on his shoes, "I'll be back in a few hours."

"I'll be in the office today so you may beat me home."

"Alright darling, I'll text you the details about this weekend then." He waved and walked out the door as I got up to get rid of the toast that was now just dry and not appetizing. It wasn't even eight yet so I would need to wait before texting Rose. Her schedule with the news was a bit hectic and I had a hard time keeping up with when she was actually at work or out searching for stories.

When I walked into work, I only saw one of my co-workers at the front desk typing away on the computer.

"Is Lila not here yet?"

"No, she said she was running late. Something about her dog getting out, I think is what she said." Ron shrugged and handed me some of the fliers I had made the other day. "Here's what they came out looking like. If we need to change them or make something bigger let me know."

I nodded and grabbed them to further examine in my office. "Thank you! I'll see what I need to fix, they look pretty good though! Unless Lila wants something else you know?"

Ron sighed, "I say check with her... but then again she may change her mind an hour later so possibly show Weston instead when he comes in. He'll be in around noon."

"Sounds good," I set my things down and loaded up my computer to check my work emails. It never failed for me to actually check this outside of work rather than during.

Thankfully there were only a few and it was regarding fonts and appointments I had tried to schedule for helping with an event later on in the fall for the clinic. Clicking on the appointment one I went ahead and scheduled the next meeting to talk with some of the higher up staff about how to expand our clientele. Something we weren't really struggling with but my manager had asked me to see if I could come up with any ideas.

Switching to my personal email, I noticed one flagged and clicked on it. My breath immediately hitched when I saw who it was from.
'Dasha,
I see that you have moved to another state to keep your engagement hidden from the world with Hayden. Well done, I must say I'm impressed. However, it is not too hard to find out where your fiancé works after searching databases and schools. Blaze is not a very common last name as you well know. Take this as a "warning" that you may be with him, but ultimately you're mine. Never forget that my dear. I will have you, one way or another.
P.'

I glanced at the date and saw it was sent last night before midnight. Did that mean he was already in California? We hadn't been here very long and he already knew... but there was a restraining order for a reason. Surely he wouldn't...

The phone began ringing as I jumped and covered my mouth to keep from screaming. 'Get it together Dash, you're at work. Freak out later.' Grabbing the phone I answered it and did my best to write down the notes that the print making company was giving me about an order I had placed.

"Yes, thank you very much. Do you mind faxing me or emailing me the details as well? Great, thanks." Setting the phone down I rubbed my forehead and grabbed a water bottle from the shelf. This was going to give me a serious headache if I didn't talk to Hayden but he was at work too. I would just need to wait a few hours.

Rose ended up calling me right as I made it home from work and asked me about dinner plans which gave me the perfect time to ask her about the dogs.

"Actually, we're possibly leaving tonight to go somewhere for the weekend. Would you mind just coming to check on Bandit and Jasper a few times throughout? Or we could bring them over too, it doesn't matter."

"Sure! I know Sean will love to have them over. He's obsessed with Bandit, probably because Jasper just doesn't care for him as much."

"Yeah, he can be a bit territorial at times. But thank you so much Rose, maybe on Monday we can grab dinner?"

"Sounds good to me!" She agreed.

Hayden was packing when I made my way upstairs to tell him the news. "Rose said they would take them for the weekend."

"Perfect! How was your day?"

"It was alright, how was yours?" I kissed his cheek and began grabbing things to put in my bag.

"Not bad, one of my classes was not as awake as I would have liked. So I told them Monday we would be having a quiz since they hadn't really read any of the assignment."

I smiled sympathetically, "well, it is the weekend. I know we did the same when I was in some classes."

"That's true, but I don't give them assignments just for no purpose."

I fought a smile while Hayden went on about how his students weren't understanding the purpose. It was adorable honestly to see how passionate he was about his classes. And he could tell I was thinking that when he stopped mid sentence and just smirked at me, "something funny Miss Watkins?"

"Oh hell no, we're past formalities," I teased him and wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. "No more Miss Watkins crap. Blaze is going to my name soon enough and Squirt's."

He blushed, "that's true. Okay I have everything packed for me, let me grab the dog's things while you finish. It's only about forty-five minutes from us so it won't take too long to get there."

"Sounds great love," I grabbed an extra pair of shorts and socks. Who knew what the weather would be like.

My cell began ringing as I saw Lila's name appear on the screen. Why was she still at the clinic?

"Hello?"

"Hey Dasha... sorry I hope I'm not interrupting." The vet spoke softly and I could tell something didn't add up.

"It's okay, did I forget to do something before I left?"

"No dear, but I heard the phone ring earlier so I answered it and someone had personally asked for me to transfer them to your line. They wouldn't give a name but said it was urgent."

"Did they say what they want? I had already emailed corporate and stuff so they should've gotten my information earlier."

"I... don't think it was corporate. You didn't give out your work number to anyone did you?"

"No, only my fiancé has it if he really needs to get ahold of me. But doesn't the website have my information on there?"

"I'll have to check. It should only have the front desk and that you're a member of the team. Just... be careful Dasha, I didn't like how they sounded on the phone and wasn't really sure what he wanted."

"What exactly did he say Lila?" I sat down on the bed already knowing who had called.

"He just simply asked if he could speak to a Dasha Watkins as it was important to talk to you. I told him you were out and offered to take a message for you to give you either for Monday or today depending upon the urgency. However he just sighed and grumbled something before hanging up."

"Did you have a chance to get the number written down?"

"Yes, I'll text it to you."

"Thank you," I hung up and pulled up my web browser to type in the phone number when she sent it through. It wasn't a number from my home town but it didn't show as Cali either. Perhaps it was a pay as you go phone... Dammit Patrick.

Hayden came back in and stopped when he saw me frowning. "Everything okay love?"

"Not... exactly but I want to enjoy this weekend before shit hits the fan. Can I tell you on Monday?"

"Well, how bad is shit going to hit the fan? Did something happen with your family?"

"No, but I think Patrick knows where we are now."

He looked up at me, "what?"

"He found where you were teaching... I got an email from him late last night and didn't see it until work today. And he may have found out where I'm working... but I don't want to think about this until after this weekend. We haven't done something like this in a long time and I just want to enjoy this time with you." I bit my lip to hide the tears and annoyance that was coursing through me.

Hayden sighed and helped me finish my bag. "I know baby... don't worry we'll deal with this on Monday okay? I don't want you to cry, not over this." He held me close and rubbed his hands on my stomach. "I just want you and Squirt to be safe, that's all I ask."

"We will be, I promise." I placed my hands over his and felt my heart race at the thought of anything happening to our little one. Patrick would not breathe the day my child is born if I could do anything about it or at least be far away from me, that I would make sure of.

**I finally made myself get away and just go write for a little bit. It's been hard coming up with material, I'm not tired of this story my brain just isn't feeling writing... but now we see that Patrick has potentially found where Dasha and Hayden are, along with Squirt.
Thoughts about when this book is over, hopefully by August, if I do a third one would you want to read it? Or do we feel that the story of Dasha and Hayden should come to a close once this story finishes?**
