**Dasha's POV**

It didn't hit me until I walked into my apartment how Hayden felt right now with the way I said goodbye to him. I had taken the ring off and left him with it. How terrible was I? Probably the worst fiancé to walk the earth.

"Dasha?" Rose looked up from the couch as her and Sean were watching something on tv.

"He knows now."

She got up and came over to hug me. "How did it go?"

"Dasha where's your ring?" Sean asked slowly as Rose's eyes widened.

"Dasha!"

"It's for our safety! Patrick has photos of us, at Hayden's kissing. There's a note... he knows everything." I started crying again as the two just looked at me. "He's going to lose his job because of me and I couldn't do that. Hayden has the chance to get a job at Berkeley."

"Berkeley?" Rose gasped.

"Berkeley, and with how this is going I can't ruin that for him. So for now I can't be around him until after graduation."

"Dasha, we're so sorry. What can we do?" Sean scratched the back of his neck and looked at Rose for a moment.

"Nothing, I don't know what else to do. I literally just left my fiancé at home with my ring and am scared to be around him if it means someone is watching. Guys he means everything to me and I'm losing him over something I can't control."

Sean placed his hands on Rose's stomach and looked at me. "Dasha, if anyone knows what you're going through it's us. Yeah we may not be ready to be parents right now, but this is the greatest thing that could happen to us. We know Hayden is the only one in your life, and you'll get through it. You have before and will again."

"Talk to your parents? They had something similar didn't they? Plus they need to know that Patrick is trying to get to you again."

"You're right, I'll talk to them in the morning. Sorry, I'll let you guys get back to watching your show."

Sean chuckled, "don't worry about it Dasha. Let us know if you need anything."

Rose nodded and grimaced for a moment before going back to the couch.

"You good Rosemary?"

"Yeah, just cramps. Apparently those don't go away when you're pregnant."

"I'll get you that heating pad babe." Sean went into her room while I sat down on the recliner and closed my eyes for a minute.

"Shit."

I opened up my eyes and saw Rose leaning over on the couch. "Rose? Are you naseous?"

"No." She whispered and tried to straighten up before wincing and going back into her position. "Sean?"

He came rushing back in and dropped the pad. "Baby what's wrong?"

"We need to go to the hospital right now."

"Okay, Dasha can you start the car? I'm going to help..." Sean moved Rose to the side and gasped. "Rose you're bleeding."

"I'm starting the car." I ran out the door and down the stairs to the car with my hands shaking. This couldn't be happening right now. She couldn't be losing the baby, not now.

I dialed Tyson's number and concentrated on starting the car while unlocking the doors and waiting on them to get down here.

"Hello?"

"Tyson, this is Dasha. We have an emergency."

"What's wrong Dash?"

"Come to the hospital. I think Rose is losing the baby."

"I'll be right there. Call Hayden okay?"

Sean opened the front door and slid her in the seat before hopping in the back. "Go."

I sped onto the street and heard Sean putting on her seatbelt while dialing some other number and talking to someone on the phone.

"Call Hayden." I spoke into the phone while concentrating on getting there.

'Calling Hayden' my phone replied as I put it on speaker and ran through a yellow light to get to the access road for the highway.

"Hello?"

"Babe, I need you to do a huge favor for me."

"What's wrong?"

"Meet me at the hospital. Something is wrong with Rose."

"I'll see you there. Is Sean with you?"

"Yes." He answered for me as I pulled onto the highway.

"Okay, just breathe for me okay?"

"I'll see you there." I whispered and hung up before checking my speed and getting off to the right exit. Why weren't we there yet?

"Sweetheart." Sean squeezed Rose's hand, "I love you."

"I'm so sorry." She whispered and blinked back tears while I pulled into a spot and threw open the door to help Rose get out of the car.

"Go," Sean touched my back. "I got her."

I took off towards the front doors and pushed them open roughly while trying to catch a deep breath and looking for a nurse at the front desk or someone.

"Can I, Dasha?" Dr. Tayler walked up to me with her jacket in her arms. "Are you okay?"

"Are you leaving?"

"I was about too. Is something wrong?"

"I think Rose is losing the baby."

She went over to a closet and pulled out a wheelchair while following me out to the parking lot and meeting Sean halfway. "Put her in this, I'm her OBGYN."

Sean put her in gently as Rose gripped his hand and began sobbing. "Dr. Tayler I'm bleeding, there's something wrong."

"It's okay sweetie, we'll take a look okay? It may be something else, just hang tight."

Sean and I sat in the waiting room while Rose went behind the double doors with the Dr. and a few nurses who followed shortly behind.

"Dasha, what if she loses the baby?" Sean hid his face in his hands.

"If she loses the baby, we will be there for her and for you no matter what. But we can't jump to that conclusion yet okay? Do you want me to see if you can go back there?"

"I don't know whether it's better for me to be out here or in there with her." He wiped his eyes and looked up as Hayden walked in.

"What's wrong with Rose?" Hayden bent down to Sean's level and waited for him to talk.

"We were just talking to Dasha when she came in and I went to get her heating pad because she had been complaining of some cramping earlier. But I knew that was normal in the pregnancy. But I walked back in and she was hunched over and not moving. And then I tried to move her and there was blood..."

Hayden put his hand on Sean's shoulder and looked at him. "Sean, do you need me to call your parents or hers?"

"I already called them." His voice was quiet.

"Okay, I called my friend who's a pharmacist. She'll get whatever Dr. Tayler orders for Rose to receive if she needs anything okay?"

"I don't want to lose the baby... I was actually excited to be a father."

"We don't know anything yet okay? Can I go get you something to drink?" Hayden was doing his best to distract Sean but it was already becoming a lost cause with where his mind was.

"If there's a Dr. Pepper or Pepsi, whatever they carry here."

"I can do that." He stood up and I followed behind, only to check up on Hayden before attending to Sean again.

We walked to a vending machine that was down another hall and inside a room that held a table and two chairs. Probably a place for someone to get away if they needed a minute.

"Thank you for coming."

"You know I would," he punched the digits for the Dr. Pepper and waited for it to fall. "Do you want anything?"

"I'm okay. Hayden?"

He looked at me and sighed, "I'm not mad sweetheart."

"You're hurting though," I wrapped my arms around him, "and I did that."

"You were scared, I understood that."

"I gave you back the ring, I shouldn't have done that either."

He kissed my forehead and reached for my hand. "I have it with me if you want it back right now."

I nodded and felt the familiar band fall back into it's place before holding onto him tightly. There was nothing that was going to make this better but I was thankful for someone who understood that we were trying to make the best of it.

"I love you, and we are going to get through this together. Even if we don't see each other daily okay?" He reassured me again before grabbing the drink and walking us back to where Sean was.

Dr. Tayler was standing there with a sympathetic smile while Sean continued looking at the floor. This was it.

"Hello, I don't think I've met you. I'm Rose's OBGYN, Dr. Tayler."

"Hayden Blaze, Dasha's fiancé."

"Nice to meet you. I can take you all back to see her, she's sleeping right now."

"Did she lose the baby?" I asked quietly.

Dr. Tayler nodded and spoke softer, "there seems to be that the embryo was never fully attached to her uterus. Sometimes this happens and will cause a miscarriage or if it continues to develop it'll be a premi delivery because of the situation. This doesn't mean you can't try again," she was addressing Sean. "Lots of people have miscarriages for a variety of reasons and eventually do carry a baby to full term. But I can only imagine with graduating and trying to get life figured out the stress probably added onto it. Whenever you're ready to discuss anything else I will be here and we can see what the options are okay? I'm here for you and Rosemary."

"Thank you." Sean mouthed as she rubbed his back and led us into the room where Rose was hooked up to monitors and sleeping soundly.

Sean took the chair near her bed and held her hand, careful to not rip any IV's out. "I'm so sorry," he broke down and shook against  the bed while Hayden wrapped his arms around me.

"I'll give you guys time. Let me know if you need anything," she spoke to me while I thanked her.

"Sean, we can step outside or stay in here. What do you want?" I rubbed his shoulder gently while he didn't move.

"Please stay, I can't go through this by myself right now."

"Tyson will be here soon, and I'm sure your families will too."

Hayden went to grab the other chair by the window and sat down before holding out his arms for me to climb in. I readily sat in his lap and wrapped my arms around him while watching Sean cry and Rose sleep soundly. There was no telling how she would be when she woke up from this.

**Four hours later**

Rose stirred in her sleep as we all waited with bated breath. Sean gripped her hand tightly as her eyes opened and she frowned with how dimly lit the room was.

"Sean, where are we?"

"The hospital." He whispered and cleared his throat.

She waited for a second and looked around, "Dasha?"

"Hey Rose." I felt Hayden's arms wrap tightly around me as she looked at us and then Tyson.

"Did I pass out?"

"No, you were in a lot of pain earlier..." Sean began and looked to me for help.

"Rosemary, do you know why you're here?"

She blinked for a moment and brought her hands down to her abdomen. No one said anything as she left them there and the realization began to settle in. "Oh my God."

"Dr. Tayler will be in shortly to check on you." I answered as she looked at Sean frantically.

"I lost him?"

Sean nodded as she closed her eyes and continued to hold her stomach. "I'm not going to be a mom?"

I began crying as Rose closed her eyes and had tears falling quickly. "Sean... I'm so sorry."

"Shh, sweetheart." He gripped her hands and spoke to her softly as Hayden, Tyson and I stepped out. Sean's and Rose's parents were arriving within the next hour or so to deal with the situation. It was nearly four in the morning at this point.

"I'm going to go home, since we have stuff to do still for school."

"Will Rose be able to graduate?" I looked at Hayden with fear. Her career and future were literally on the line now.

"Yes, as long as she passes her finals. Even if it means extending them for her which they will do. She'll be able to graduate."

"Good, if you need anything else just call me okay? I'm just not a night owl like the rest of you," he apologized.

"No worries Ty, I'll call you in the morning."

Hayden kissed my forehead again and sighed, "I'm really sorry about this."

"There's nothing she could've done, and she'll have to accept that on her own. I think we should go too, I don't feel comfortable sticking around here."

"I can drop you off at your apartment?"

"I want to stay with you tonight." I whispered.

"Of course sweetheart. Let's just tell Sean real quick."

I opened the door and saw Sean had gotten in bed with Rose and was stroking her hair. She had her eyes closed but I knew she wasn't asleep.

"We're going to head out unless you need anything."

"I'm okay. I'll stay until her parents or mine get here. Thank you guys."

"Anytime," I went over and hugged him and her gently. "I'll be back in the morning Rose. And I'll get everything for you from the teachers."

"Okay. You're the best Dasha."

"Get some sleep."

She nodded and kept her hands protectively around her stomach while Sean put one hand down with hers. It killed me to know what was going on, and that we never knew what the gender was going to be.

Hayden unlocked the doors as we slid in and he drove back quietly. We had nothing to say and I just felt my heart breaking inside with everything going on.

"If you want to shower before me you can. I just don't want to smell like the hospital." Hayden's hand brushed against mine.

"We can just shower together real quick. I just want to get in bed and forget about the last few hours."

"I know love."

Jasper greeted us when we got in and followed eagerly up the stairs before plopping down in front of the bathroom.

"Good boy," I bent down to kiss him before sliding out of my clothes and turning on the water. "Can you grab me one of your shirts please?" I turned to Hayden as he smiled and tried not to look me over too much.

"Always."

I stepped into the water as he disappeared and washed my hair quickly to remove the scent of the hospital. I could only imagine how medical people felt when they worked there for hours on end.

By the time Hayden and I had settled into bed, I was barely awake. My eyes were shut while he pulled the blanket over us and kissed my shoulder.

"I love you Dasha."

Jasper whined by our feet as I stroked him with my foot to calm him down.

"I love you too Jasper." Hayden chuckled and turned the light out.

"I love you too Hayden and Jasper." I breathed and fell asleep without another word. Today was going to be a long one.

**I had planned on this happening for awhile. I know none of you are going to like me for this, but I felt it was necessary for now. If you've read any of my stories you know I write about the rough topics no one likes to read or discuss. I'm sorry if I make you cry, I know I was while writing it, but I personally know so many who have miscarried and I just wanted to put that in here. Don't put the story down, I promise it gets better, there was just a lot I wanted to write about on the other characters this time around.**
