**Hayden**

Jasper was snoring softly on the bed while I flipped through the bills that were needing to be paid this week. It seemed to be a never ending cycle of things that were due, work or bill wise. The ads had also begun to pile up on the floor being as I never really looked at them to begin with. You would think that for a "bachelor" living by "himself" that I wouldn't get that much mail. Sadly, I did.

"What the hell?" I was down to the last envelope and it was addressed to Dasha.

I knew for a fact that she didn't have anything coming to my address... so why was there something without a return label either.

Opening it slowly, I saw a letter fall out along with photos. My breath caught quickly when I noticed they were photos of her and I. Places we normally went because we knew we were safe. But all of them were of us kissing or being super close to one another.

"How the hell?" I flipped through the photos and saw two of Dasha with her back to the window of my bedroom as she changed. Some pervert had been photographing my fiancé!

I was seeing red when I grabbed the letter and began to read it. Surely this wasn't Missy... there's no way.

'Dasha,

I know you probably don't remember me. But I sure do remember you. You thought this secret of yours was well kept? All the late nights of planning and taking the longer course home? The times you skipped class to see your fiancé when he happened to not be in either? Did you really think we were that stupid?

Here's proof that I intend to show to the school and the world if you don't comply. The police will be notified immediately and I can guarantee that Hayden will lose his job. Most likely you two have been having sex I wouldn't doubt so that's even more reason to listen to what I have to say.

Besides, we both know that I've seen you in that same way before sweetheart. Only Hayden and I would know about the freckles that line your lower back or the tiny scar on your thigh from when you ran into the furniture when you were younger.

This can all be resolved once you contact me. I'll be waiting for your reply.

Patrick'

"Patrick... she never mentioned a Patrick." I looked up and felt my heart racing. Even if this was an ex boyfriend of hers, how would... it wasn't adding up.

"I can't tell her, not yet." I looked at Jasper as he continued to sleep. "I can solve this myself and avoid her from getting into more of a mess. But first," I picked up the phone to dial Missy's husband. "I have some unfinished business to attend too."

Glancing at the clock I realized it was well after eleven and knew it was best to wait until the morning. This guy was taking care of a baby after all.

"Fuck." I set the envelope on the side table and turned the light off. In the darkness my eyes remained open and tried to come up with any memories of us being seen by someone. We had always been careful not to step out if a car followed for too long or to be seen often at school. I usually only saw her in the cafeteria and that was hardly ever.

"As if anything else could go wrong." I sighed and realized it was going to be a long night. If some creep was fully aware of my fiancé's whereabouts this had to be stopped immediately. The only question was how?

'You'll probably need to tell her. She'll know who Patrick is and she can identify him for you. Plus it would be better for her to address him...' my mind was already trying to come up with pros and cons for this dilemma. Granted I knew she had only mentioned a few people she had dated in the past but it hadn't been a big deal once we got really serious. We just explained our past relationships and after the whole Missy ordeal, it hadn't been a priority to discuss the past unless there was a serious need too.

Could he be as bad as Missy? Or was it really Josh and he was just using a false name?

No... it had to be someone she had dated, they were too specific for those markings they mentioned on her body. The thought alone of Dasha having been undressed for someone else was making my vision blur but I knew I couldn't judge. I had already been doing everything before I met her, it wasn't something I was particularly proud of either.

"Worry about it in the morning." I told myself a few times and pulled Jasper up closer to me. I didn't want him near my legs tonight and the fact of Dasha not being here was making me feel like I needed something to hold onto. God I sounded like a needy person or even my fiance. Don't get me wrong I loved her to death, but women were definitely always needing touch of some sort.

Jasper nudged my hand to make me pet him as I tried to drift off to sleep. Guess that's what I get for waking up the dog and moving him from his spot.

By the time seven rolled around I had already been up for a few hours doing some classwork. I figured the man would be up by now because of the baby and prayed he would have answers of some sort. I needed to know what Missy had been doing and if he was doing okay taking care of the child as well. I didn't personally know him but he knew of me after everything.

"Hello?"

"Josiah? This is Hayden."

"Hello Hayden, is something wrong? I didn't think I would be hearing from you."

"I wanted to check and see how things were going."

"They're going." He chuckled, "Gabriel is definitely a handful. But I love being able to raise him, even if the circumstances aren't ideal. Missy doesn't get much time with him if any. And my sister has stepped in to help with that "mother" aspect. So I don't really know what'll happen."

"I'm sorry to hear that... when was the last time you talked to Missy?"

"Four days ago, did she try to talk to you?"

"No, but I got some sort of letter and just... I just wanted to double check that she was officially not wanting anything to do with my current situation."

"As far as I know, she's unaware we talk. She has no way of contacting you and Josh is nowhere near her. He's at a different facility and is not allowed any contact. I hope whatever is going on gets cleared up."

I knew right then that he was being serious and I felt bad knowing that he was raising his own child without the mother to help.

"Thank you Josiah, let me know if you ever need something. I'll let you get back to Gabriel."

"No problem Hayden, have a good one."

I hung up and glanced at the letter lying on the kitchen table. So who was Patrick and why had he been waiting so long to send this? Could he actually be worse than Missy? I would need to wait to tell Dasha until her work load decreased some. She was already stressed and this wasn't going to help at all. But how was I supposed to go about not having her around if I didn't even know what this guy looked like?

"Rose would know... or Sean." I pulled up my email and checked something before scrolling through phone numbers. Someone had to know something.

"Hello?" Sean's voice came over the phone as I ran my hands through my hair.

"Hey Sean, sorry I know it's early."

"You're good, is something wrong Professor?"

"You know you can call home Hayden right?" I paused for a moment, "Sean, do you know if Dasha ever mentioned dating a guy named Patrick?"

"Patrick? Um... I don't think so, why?"

"I got a letter addressed to my place and this guy has scoped us out taking photos and such. He knows too much about her to not have been in a relationship with her."

"When did you get this?"

"Last night. I can't tell Dasha just yet, you guys are about to graduate. But I just needed to know..."

"I can ask Rose today and get back to you. We'll work on keeping her on campus as much as possible in the meantime."

"Thank you, I'm sorry to have to ask this."

"Honestly this is manageable. We knew it could potentially happen and we're almost done with everything. But I'll call you back when I know something."

"Thanks." I hung up and sighed, this was going to be a rough way to end the semester.

**Sorry its short, but did anyone expect this! New characters yet again and lots of drama about to unfold.**
