"So, What you wanna know" I said into the breeze. He blew smoke out and stared out into the water; "How bout the beginning, Start with your parents. "
I sighed and hugged my knees. "Will you tell me about you too?"
Another puff of smoke, He nodded.
"Alright. My mother is Hannah Garcia and my Father. My Biological Father was a man named Franklin Garcia." I started for out. "My father was in the army before I was born, He met my mother on a mission somewhere overseas. He brought her here and they got married." I smiled remembering my father. His warm smile, His eyes, a stormy dark blue. "I was born here. And when I was born, My Father couldn't bear to be away from his wife and child. So he stayed here. He taught me many things, How to track. Shoot guns, Fight. He taught me so I was well prepared for anything" Bell stared in my eyes. "He was harsh but after being my drill Sargent he was my father, he was warm and sweet. I was his little girl. For a while." I said sadly. Bell took my hand and I leaned into his shoulder, staring at the dazzling water, "When I was 13 He was called in, he was needed in Iraq. He was held captive, then was killed in action." I took a breath. "I didn't know how to control my grief, so I turned to food. Which made me the way I am now. My mother took it hard, but after she grieved for a long time she found Quinn. He was a lawyer, He's a nice man, I see him as my father. But my real father will always be in my heart" I said sadly. "So if you knew how to fight , why didn't you" Bell asked softly. "Because No matter how much they hit me or called me names. My heart was already broken, I couldn't feel more pain" I looked down. He wiped the tears from the cheek. "And them I met you" Giving him a little smile. "You helped me found my courage"
He kissed me slowly, brushing my hair behind my ear.
I put my hand on his cheek and stroked it with his thumb, "Thank you" I whispered.
He kissed me again.
We sat at the bank near the river. "So what's your story. " I asked softly.
He leaned up and hugged his knees, his expression hard and stoic. "My mother's name was Aphrodite Bethany Lucas. She was, a call girl" My eyes widen. "My father was one of her clients, she didn't know who. At a early age she taught me to be tough, to be like steel. She said " The world are for those who are tough and depend on themselves." She would neglect me at night, she would be taking care of her John's. But in the day, She was the sweetest person, She was beautiful too. She would take me to this park and push me on the swings." He said smiling, then his smile disappeared. "When I was 10, She would kick me out and told me sleep in the park. I guess she didn't want me to hear the noise. I knew Logan and he and his mom would take me in almost every night. Logan and I took care of each other. I started running with gangs when I was 13, when I was fourteen a mob boss came and killed my mother." He said nonchalant. I grabbed his hand. "He saw how tough I was and He offered me a job, To watch out for his kid. Teach him how to fight. And I did that's how I know Garret. He was the kid I looked out for" I gasped. Garret's father killed Bell's mom?? "When I got older and stronger I killed the old man and the first place I thought of running to was to Logan's. And his mom and he welcomed me with opened arms. Until I started fighting and making my own income." He said looking at the grass. "I'm forever grateful to Logan and his family, they took in a murder. A messed up kid" I hugged him tight.
"I did everything I could to get rid of the pain, Drinking , drugs girls. Nothing worked. Except you. When you touch my hand or when you kiss me bit by bit my pain goes away. You're my remedy. " He said staring at me. I brushed his hair and softly kissed him. My heart ached for him.
"Your mom would've been very proud of you and the way you turned out" I said softly in his arms. "Your father would be proud to have a daughter like you" He said smiling.
When we got home our emotional scabs were picked open and I felt so exposed but safe at the same time. Bell looked exhausted,"Come here" I said to him. He came and laid his head on my thighs, I hummed a Turkish lullaby my mother taught me. He soon fell asleep. Everything was at peace. But with this boy, I was madly truly deeply in love with him.
