Episode 46: King Addiction

"I can't believe you're still angry over what happened in the car."

"The more you refer to it, the longer it's gonna take for me to get over it."

Nicholas grasped Emily by the arms as she was about to walk into her bedroom.

The light humor on his face was replaced by something more primal.

"I just wanted to remind you that you're married. You don't want people to take misleading pictures of you with others in public, do you?"

Her eyebrows furrowed in disbelief. "The newspaper incident again? I thought we already went over this jealousy phase of yours. Taylor means nothing to me other than a friend - less than that now actually. He's just my colleague."

"Which fortunately won't be the case after the next couple of days that you have to film together. After that, I'll be rest assured about him not being anywhere near you."

She shook her head in distaste at his attitude.

"It's not like I wanted those pictures of me and him circulating."

"Don't misunderstand me," he said, carefully wrapping his arms around her tiny waist as he pulled her closer.

Like the traitor it was, her heartbeat quickened. She looked up at him, half-annoyed and the other half filled with anticipation.

"I have no doubts about you. As I've said before, I know you wouldn't get involved with another person. I'm not lacking self-confidence when it comes to where I lie in your heart. I know I've already built a home for myself there. However, I despise the way he looks at you when you speak. The way he smiles at your every word- memorizes the shape of your lips as they move..." He trailed off as his fingers brushed over the aforementioned part. Her mouth tingled in delight because of the intimate touch. It didn't help that his eyes failed to waver away from them.

"Only I should be able to do that." His gaze suddenly met hers firmly and she almost melted.

"No other man is supposed to look at you that way. Even if they do entertain those thoughts, they should know better than to make it obvious to me. God, I wish I could put up a billboard sign and make the world know that you're mine. That way nobody in New York or anywhere else for the matter would dare to undress you with their eyes."

At this point, Emily was utterly speechless.

She didn't know what could be said to refute his words.

Not that she wanted to anymore.

Yet it still came as a surprise how deeply this issue burned down inside of him like this.

Nicholas really wanted for their relationship to be known and not treated as it was now. Where others thought they had a chance in winning her heart.

If only he knew the owner had been him for the longest while.

Resting her palm on the side of his face, Emily looked up at him understandingly. "I want the world to know you're mine too."

Nicholas' eyes flew open in surprise.

She had never said such words to him before.

Usually, it was always him making comments about the impatience of waiting on breaking the news.

Hearing those words from her lips made him a very happy man in that moment.

"Really?"

She nodded shyly at him.

His eyes grew dark with the solid confirmation in her gaze.

She had meant every word.

"Fuck it."

He grasped the back of her neck in the speed of light, pressing his lips against hers passionately. Emily felt the kiss to her knees as she trembled in his hold. Her hand reached up to grasp the front of his shirt, hoping she could stay standing from the force of it.

However, she didn't have to.

Nicholas lifted her off the ground in one sweep motion and into his arms.

Giving him no chance to break the kiss, Emily bent her head to accommodate the change in positions.

He moaned at her dedication to the task.

She really didn't want this to be a burst of passion that left her wanting more.

Exactly what she had endured already half an hour ago in their heated car session on set.

It was going to take a natural disaster to make her yield this time around.

When he had climbed on top of her after laying her body down on the bed, Emily was already showering the side of his face with eager kisses. Knowing where her mind was at, Nicholas was tentative enough to pull back and cup her face in his large hands.

Not liking the disruption to their session, she leant forward to continue but he wouldn't let her.

"Nicholas," she pleaded vulnerably, staring into his eyes. "Don't stop this time around."

"Of course not," he cooed and placed a chaste kiss to her forehead.

"Not there." She whined.

He raised an eyebrow teasingly. "Then where?"

She huffed before pointing to her swollen lips that looked too tempting for a man's soul.

"Here."

He went in for it, only to divert the last minute and kiss the corner of her mouth.

"I hate you." She pouted when he pulled back with an expression which showed how much he was enjoying this.

"I'm sorry," he chuckled, "But you're too adorable when you're all riled up like that. I just couldn't resist."

Emily didn't share the same humor as him, only stared.

So much that it seemed as if she was looking deep down into his soul.

Nicholas cleared his throat uncomfortably.

"Tell me the truth," the brunette began seriously, "Are you a sadist?"

"Hell no." He deadpanned.

"Then why do you get off so much on me not getting off?"

"Who says I do?"

"Then are you a saint?" Her eyes then widened as if she had just realized the most mind-blowing thing on earth.

"Oh my God! That's why you're named Nicholas! Saint Nicholas."

The man shook his head at her, not entirely humored by her so-called discovery.

"If I'm a saint then you're an angel. A beautiful, sexually frustrated angel whom I don't deserve."

Her ears burnt red in embarrassment as she nuzzled her head into his neck. "Why are you doing this to me?"

"I want your first time to be special."

She looked up at him, eyes looking rounder and cuter up close.

"What could be more special than it being with you?"

Ignoring the leap his heart took at her poetic words, he kissed her cheek. "It being with me when the time is right and not out of impulse."

"I'm not being impulsive. I want you...don't you want me too?"

She looked so fucking naive in that moment he wanted to take her for all she was worth.

"Trust me on this, baby. It's not the best timing. Once we start, we're not going to stop. I'm not going to be able to let you leave the bed for days afterwards. No, you won't leave. That won't be entirely helpful for your filming schedule, will it?"

"I'm gonna have my last shoot in a couple of days."

He leant forward, his lips brushing the shell of her ear. "Then you have something to look forward to, don't you?"

Her eyes widened.

Did he mean...

Giving her no time to respond, he pulled away.

"Now let's wash up and go to bed, shall we?" He proffered, patting the top of her head affectionately. "Good night, Em."

Even when he got off the bed and exited her room, Emily still sat there like a log. Not knowing what to do with herself because of the adrenaline that was running through her veins.

She fell back against the pillows, realizing yet again, that she was left to fend for herself as the King Addiction took ahold of her.

A/N:

On this day last year, Valentine's Day, I had the courage to post the first two chapters of this story. I remember feeling so nervous and hesitant because I didn't want such a special creation to go unnoticed and be lost in a sea of other works. Nevertheless, I trusted my gut feeling that it would be a choice I wouldn't regret.

And I don't.

I'm glad that I posted this book and even more so by the tremendous support it's gotten over the period of time.

Many people will use this holiday to celebrate their anniversary with their loves and so will I!

Only that it's with my book...

...

...

...

But in all seriousness, happy Valentine's Day to you all! It doesn't have to be a romantic partner that you show love to today. Give your mom some flowers and chocolate for a change. If you have been doing that over the years then guess what? We're soul mates.
