Hey, happy mother's day to all! I hope you all have a great day with her. And for the ones who don't have a mother, it's alright, you still have yourself (or a dad I hope). So that's worth something if you cherish the idea of that.

Episode 13: Bubble Pop

The air that surrounded the two potential lovers for the next twelve hours was thickened with awkwardness.

Emily was too annoyed and embarrassed to say anything to Nicholas, while him on the other hand, was being sensitive towards her feelings.

At the end of the day, it wasn't complimentary because both of them were caught up in some miscommunication. One thought the other was still angry with them. It was confusing and frustrating.

Having enough of what was going on, Emily stormed into the office-like room he had inhabited since forever.

It was almost as if he was in freaking hibernation.

She was going to wake that beast up because they had to clear this air somehow.

"Nicholas!" She yelled as she barged through the door, quite boisterous of her character.

"I need to speak to you."

The man's eyes narrowed onto her in warning as he looked up from the computer before him.

Clueless to the person on the other side of the camera, she began her long suppressed rant.

"I told myself that I was going to wait, but I don't think I can anymore. I can't keep up what's going on between us."

"Emily-"

"No, listen, Nicholas."

As she advanced forward, his pupils began to shake as he looked from behind the screen and onto her.

Why was he dressed so nicely when he was caught up in a hotel doing work anyway?

"I don't know how else to say it but I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I blew up on you like that, and blamed you."

"And I already forgave you, remember?"

She stood before him, her night gown as threatening as he last remembered.

He tried his best to block her body away from the screen.

"You did?" Her eyes lit up in wonder as she put her fingers under her chin.

"I thought you were just getting back at me when you teased and touched me-"

"Emily!" He shouted and stood up from his chair abruptly.

Nicholas took the oblivious woman by the shoulders and spun her around as he apologized to someone she couldn't see.

"I apologize for the interruption but can we have a ten minute break please? Okay, thank you. I'll call you back."

"Who are you talking to?"

The little woman leant over just in time to see a middle aged man's face in the computer screen.

His eyes widened when they were greeted by the cleavage exposed by her night gown when she dipped to look.

She screamed as soon as the video call clicked off.

"Were you talking to him this entire time?" Her voice was above a little squeak.

"Yes, I was. I had a business call with the project manager of Black Corps. However, it had to be cut short because of your little strip show."

She coughed as she wrapped her thin clothes around her.

It wasn't like she had done it on purpose.

She hadn't thought much about what she was wearing.

In fact, she had worn less clothes around him so what was the big deal this time around? Why was he so angry?

His eyes were aflame as he looked at her unhappily and she realized that was it.

He was upset because she unintentionally flashed his business partner.

How inappropriate of her.

Why hadn't she knocked like a normal person before barging into the man's personal space?

That's it. His personal space. Which he was using to avoid me.

She shook her head at her irrational reasoning.

Why was she was always so thoughtless when it came to him?

Looking at him, she felt like a walking travesty of herself.

There was nothing else that mattered than popping that bubble that he was in around her. She didn't want him hiding away. Emily hated miscommunication between individuals more than anything. He had made her mad, yes, but she did so to him as well.

They needed to work this out in case there were any lingering feelings of hurt.

Being with Nicholas was like engaging in eighteenth century, traditional dancing.

He moved towards her as a partner, held her hands, then backed off, then came back again to his own pleasure, as smoothly and elegantly as one could under heated circumstances.

All that's left then is held breath.

Forcing Emily to harmonize her steps with the rest in set.

She wanted to break the surface tension because one drop was all it would take to flood out whatever they had going.

"I'm sorry- I just wanted to clear up whatever misunderstanding we have between us after yesterday. You just did that last time with me after confronting me about my "prudeness". Then you wouldn't speak to me for half a day, I thought you were still upset."

Nicholas stared at her intensely, then he sighed, almost in resignation.

"There's no misunderstanding between us, darling."

She looked up at him, her eyes having the effect of a wondrous child.

"There could never be when you're so expressive about everything around me. I dislike the thought that this bothered you to the point of barging inside here like that."

"I'm sorry."

He moved towards her, as always, and she stood there waiting to follow his lead once more. Because she trusted him that much. She was vulnerable in front of him that way.

She trembled when his fingers traced the side of her face. His lips twitched into what would have been a smile if he still wasn't tense about what had happened a moment ago.

"Don't worry, I'm not mad at you. What I'm really concerned about is if you're still mad at me-"

"I'm not."

There was that rare smile.

"Good."

She gazed at him. He looked so wickedly tempting - hair neatly combed, dark eyes dancing with thoughts he was contemplative of sharing, that beautiful sculptured mouth, lips raised in a sexy, amused smile.

"Why are you staring at me like that?"

"As if you don't know."

His eyebrows raised at her tone.

She blinked.

"I'm sorry that was-"

"The height of your expression that I can take for today. I have a meeting to continue. I'll entertain you later."

"Promise?"

She didn't know what that entailed but the idea of it really excited her.

He nodded his head at her.

"I promise."

She smiled gladly.
