The one who had always came to your rescue.

You walked around the ballroom until you found Jin.

"Jin, where is Yoongi?"

His eyebrows shot up. "What?"

"I can't make my decision until I talk with him. Where is he?"

Jin searched your face for a moment, then nodded. "He's only a few minutes into town. I'll have Taehyung take you."

Taehyung waited in the car as you walked up the apartment stairs. He offered to go with you, but you wanted to talk to Yoongi alone. You hadn't even seen him since he was arrested. Your heart pounded with each step, wondering if he missed you as much as you had missed him.

Room 123. This was it.

You knocked on the door. You heard scuffling on the other side. Each step you heard made it harder to breathe.

The door cracked open. "[Y/N]?"

The sound of his voice was too much for you. You pushed the door open and threw your arms around Yoongi's neck. He stumbled back, his hands raised up in surprise.

"Yoongi..." you said. "I missed you."

After a moment, his arms wrapped around you. "What are you doing here? How did you get here?"

You leaned back to gaze into his eyes. "Yoongi. I know everything."

His hands traced your shoulders as he exhaled. He nodded. "I know. Jin called and told me what happened."

He broke away from the embrace and sat on a tall stool next to the bar in the kitchen. You shut the door and walked over to him.

"How much of it was real, Yoongi?" you asked.

"How much of what?"

"Everything you said to me. Saving me. Our relationship in general."

He sucked his teeth, laughing quietly to himself. "I don't think any of it was fake. I'm not as good as carrying out a job as I used to be."

You paused, waiting for him to continue.

"Jin knew I had some... questionable relationships when I came to work for Hoseok. I had been clean for awhile, so no one thought too much of my past. Until you came to us. Jin asked me to scare you off. He made it clear not to hurt you in any way. He just wanted out of the arranged marriage."

You rolled your eyes. "He could have just told me that he didn't want to get married. I don't understand why that was so difficult."

"He was afraid of retaliation. He didn't know what you would do to him or his family."

You opened your mouth to say something, then remembered what Taehyung had said about Jin's mother. It made sense why he would be so paranoid.

"I should have known Jackson would take it further than it needed to go." he continued, tapping his tight fist into the counter. "He was supposed to scare you at the festival, but... once he hit you... I snapped. And I don't even know how he got into the castle. I was supposed to be the only insider. Thinking of you in danger... I couldn't stand it."

You stepped in closer to him. "The night he tried to drown me... I thought of how you had saved me from him before."

Yoongi shut his eyes and dropped his head.

"I wanted you to come for me again, Yoongi. I wanted you to save me. But you weren't there."

His hands went through his hair. "I would have came for you. I would have killed him myself if I was there."

Standing between his knees, you put your hands on his shoulders. "Don't leave again. I can't stand it if you leave me again."

He looked up at you, realizing how close you were to him. "[Y/N]..."

"Promise you won't leave me again."

"What are you trying to say?"

You hesitated. When he didn't move, you leaned down and kissed his forehead, letting your lips linger for a moment. His hands came up to your waist, gripping you hard and bringing you in even closer.

"This isn't a good idea." he warned.

"I didn't ask if it was a good idea."

You smirked as he looked into your eyes. In a swift motion, his hand came to the back of your head and slammed your lips against his. You gripped his shirt – more out of surprise than anything – as he wildly kissed you. His other hand wrapped around your waist and pulled you in tighter to him, and he slowed down the kiss so he could deepen it.

Everything was real. You could tell from the way he was kissing you that everything had been real.

He pulled his lips from yours, then stood and enveloped you in his arms. His jagged breath tickled your ear as he held you close.

"I missed you too, [Y/N]." he said. "You don't know how badly I missed you."

He leaned down and kissed your neck, then held you tighter to him.

Your hands hooked over his shoulders. "I want to be with you, Yoongi. Don't leave me again."

"After everything? You still want me?"

You nodded against his chest. "Yes."

His warm hands stroked your arms as he pecked your forehead. "Then let's live here together. I'm yours. I'll protect you and come to your rescue from now on. You can bet on it."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eventually Taehyung came up to get you and take you back to the party. You went back, but only to announce that you wouldn't be taking your position as princess. Everyone was shocked, of course, not knowing why you would give up such a wonderful opportunity. You continued saying that you felt more adjusted to civilian life, and that your people would be best left in the care of someone else.
You forgave Jin, and the bad blood between you dissolved. Eventually, he met a royal woman that intrigued him. Thanks to you, he was more willing to open his heart up. They were married, and she showered him with love and affection on the daily basis.
Namjoon finally realized how much he loved his girl, and he went after her like you had told him to. He renounced his station and married her, enjoying a romantic civilian life. Jin invited both of them to the castle often as guests.
Taehyung continued to be an assistant to Jin, Jungkook, and Namjoon, and your very dear friend. He stayed in touch as you and Yoongi traveled the world together. It wasn't long before he met a cook in the castle and married her.
Jimin and Nara married. At first, they had a rocky relationship that Jungkook constantly butted into. Jimin became competitive at Jungkook trying to take his wife, and eventually couldn't stand the thought of her with anyone else. He treated her better from then on, and they eventually fell in love completely.
While trying to sabotage Jimin, Jungkook met Nara's cousin, who kept running interference for Jimin and Nara. In the beginning, Jungkook was constantly trying to outwit her, but she outsmarted him every time. Eventually he got so determined to beat her that he got obsessive about her. After some time, that obsession turned into romantic feelings, and he ended up marrying her.
Hoseok took the job at the private academy and ended up marrying an instructor from a rival school. You saw him occasionally for special events. He was much happier than he had been when you first met, and you could tell that he was becoming that fun character everyone had known him as.
Yoongi started working for Hoseok again. When they traveled, you got to go with them. You never regretted giving up the crown as you traveled the world as a normal civilian.
When you weren't traveling, you and Yoongi lived in the apartment Jin provided for you. Everyone was confused on why you went to him after everything that had happened, but you didn't regret it. You were always safe with Yoongi, even when he got mischievous and started trouble. It kept it exciting. He was wild and flirtatious, loving and attentive. Even your parents couldn't help but fall for his charms eventually. And you knew, no matter what, that he would always put his life on the line for you. Every time he held you, you knew he loved you more than anything. That was enough.
