On Tuesday, Lawson found himself lying across Sean's bed complaining about the current story he was to be analyzing as Sean attempted to do his homework at his desk. Sean was studying for Calc, which was stupid because between the two of them, it should be Lawson studying for Calc- while he had greatly improved at the subject during the semester, he was still accepting the fact that he'd finish the class with a very low B -which was why he didn't feel too bad about his countless chatter, even when Sean turned to look at him and said, "if you're this distracting all the time I'm going to have to ask you to stop coming over".

Lawson's eyes rolled. "Sean, I'm here all the time. You already know I'm not always this distracting. I'm just... give me attention".

"Ahh, it's one of those days," Sean said fondly before rising from his desk chair and joining Lawson on the bed. "Hi".

"Hi," Lawson replied, grinning. "I'm sorry I'm distracting. Sometimes it just hurts when I think you like math more than me". Softly, Sean laughed, brushing Lawson's hair gently off his forehead.

"Oh my. I must be doing something wrong then". Slowly, Sean leaned forward to his him, his lips warm and inviting against Lawson's, and he sighed happily, rolling into his side towards Sean and throwing a leg over his hips.

They kissed for a few minutes, just enjoying the feel of being pressed so close together with the others taste in their mouth, but eventually Lawson needed to pull back to say, "I'm hungry". Again, Sean laughed and kissed him chastely.

"Is that your way of asking me to make you food?"

"It's like you know me so well," Lawson breathed happily and Sean hummed, looking at him foldly for a moment long before rolling out of bed.

"You're such a little shit," he accused as he moved to leave the room. "What do you want to eat".

"Pasta!" Lawson called after him before grinning and rolling over onto his stomach. He wondered if it was normal to be just this happy.

He'd miss Sean like crazy over break. It already made him sad thinking about it.

With a long sigh, Lawson pulled his text book back in front of himself and began to read once more, trying to take his mind off of the thoughts that had been plaguing his mind more and more recently.

He only got about a minute of reading in before Sean's phone began to ring on his desk across the bedroom. "Sean, can I get it!?" Lawson called.

"Yeah, go ahead!" Sean yelled back immediately, and Lawson crawled out of bed, crossing the room to Sean's desk. It took him a minute to locate the phone, beneath all of the paper and textbook, so when he did, he didn't bother checking the caller ID, not wanting to take the time in case the caller hung up.

"Sean Lewis's phone," Lawson greeted pleasantly, part of him hoping it someone from Sean's family, with the other part of him hoping the opposite. He liked Sean's family- he had talked to them multiple times by this point- but he was also afraid that one of these times he'd say something stupid that made them dislike him (though, when he had accidently made a sex comment to Sean's brother, Chase had laughed for about twenty solid minutes).

The voice that answered Lawson was completely unfamiliar to him. "Who are you?" The man asked, sounding less than pleased, and Lawson frowned. Then he checked the caller ID, and hissed softly through his teeth at the sight of Clyde's name. "Hello?"

"Uh... Lawson," he responded hastily. "The... the boyfriend".

Clyde made a noise- a scoff?. "You're being really lenient with that term, huh?"

"Uh... excuse me?" Lawson questioned, his voice cracking. He cleared his throat as that noise came again- definitely a scoff.

"Boyfriend," Clyde snarled. "You know you're just a fuck for him, right?"

"I-" Lawson cut off, moving backwards absently to take a seat on the end of the bed. He didn't feel like he could stand. "I don't think you understand-"

"Just wait until he's back home for break between semesters. He'll come crawling back to me like he always does, and you'll just be an afterthought," Clyde claimed with a confidence that made Lawson's heart fall.

It was stupid, really. He trusted Sean, he did, and he could very clearly recall him saying that he had no feelings for Clyde, and even claiming that Clyde had no feelings for him, but the latter was clearly untrue so what if...

No.

But still. Lawson was already worried about Sean leaving for over break, and now this? Now his stupid ex-boyfriend needs to go putting ideas in his head?

"I-" was all Lawson got out, weakly, before Clyde interrupted him.

"I called to talk to Sean, not you".

Slowly, Lawson rose from the bed and moved from the room, holding the phone away from his face In case the boy decided to say anything else to him.

Sean was standing in his kitchen in front of his stove, looking down into a pot of water with little interest. Lawson thought about saying something that would make Sean laugh, like, it'll never boil if you keep looking at it, but instead Clyde's words repeated in his head, and he remained silent.

Upon hearing his footsteps, Sean looked up and smiled at him, but it quickly faded when Lawson simply held the phone out to him to take. Eyebrows raised, he did, and the second the device was out of his hand Lawson was leaving the room.

"Hello?" He heard Sean ask, cautiously, before he was in the bedroom and shutting the door softly behind himself, blocking out the conversation. He moved back to the bed and laid across it on his stomach, his face buried in Sean's pillows.

Lawson really wanted to yell, but he didn't do that often.

It didn't take long before the door was opening again and the familiar weight of Sean was draping across his back. He let out a little sigh at the feeling but other than that remained silent.

Kisses began to trail up and down the back of his neck. "What's wrong?" Sean whispered against his skin, and Lawson was unable to stop the full body shiver that went through him.

Because it was Sean, Lawson asked him what was really on his mind. "Are you going to break up at me when you go back home for the holidays?"

The body above him tensed and then moved, and Lawson closed his eyes and thought, this is is, but then Sean's hands were manhandling him onto his back. They made eye contact. Sean looked serious. "What'd he say to you?" Sean questioned. With a long sigh, Lawson turned his face away, but a moment later Sean grabbed his chin and forced it back. "I want to know if he said anything to you, Lawson".

"He told me that I was just a fuck and that when you went back for break and were reunited with him that you'd forget about me," Lawson admitted, surprising himself with a steady voice throughout the entire confession. Sean's jaw clenched. If the situation wasn't serious, Lawson would have told him he looked good like that, because he did.

"I told him that we were together-"

"I don't think he cares, Sean," Lawson cut in softly. Sean continued to look down at him, eyes searching his face.

"Do you believe him?" Sean inquired, and something must have momentarily flashed across Lawson's face because Sean was climbing out of bed and pulling his phone from his pocket. "I'll be right back. Don't move".

Lawson obeyed, since it was Sean's apartment afterall, and, laying in bed doing nothing was the only thing his grim mood made him want to do, so it was easy to stay there unmoving until Sean came back, about two minutes later. It was then that Lawson turned his head to look up at his boyfriend, who immediately crawled into bed next to him and lay at his side. "It's taken care of," Sean promised, and Lawson's eyebrows raised. "No more phone calls".

With widened eyes, Lawson rolled onto his side to look at his boyfriend. "I don't want you to-"

"Lawson," Sean cut in, voice soft but stern. "He doesn't get to... to just do that and say things like that to you and have no consequences. He knows that we're together, and he knows how I feel about you, so he should know that he can't talk to you like that. You're far more important to me than he is, so I'm choosing you over him, and I will every day, whether it be while I'm here, or when I'm at home. Alright?" It seemed like he wanted a response, so Lawson nodded, eyes wide. "Lawson... I..." he what? Lawson didn't find out, because the second Sean seemed remotely distressed, he leaned over to kiss the other, which Sean immediately returned, far more desperate than Lawson was expecting.

Ten or so minutes later- how he lasted that long, Lawson had no fucking clue- Sean crawled back up his body to grin down at him before kissing him again, carefully easing his tongue into Lawson's mouth to let him taste himself there. He didn't mind much, and returned the kiss whole heartedly.

After a long minute of this, Sean pulled away with a sigh and dropped down onto his chest, his head tucked under his jaw. Happily, Lawson ran his hands up and down Sean's back, which he knew he loved.

"Do you ever think about the day we met?" Sean asked into his skin. Lawson's eyebrows raised.

"In calc?" It was a stupid question, but still Sean nodded. "Yeah, I guess I think about it sometimes".

"Remember when I told you lunch was my favorite part of the day?" Unable to help himself, Lawson snorted before voicing his confirmation. "You know, at the time that wasn't a joke. Living alone in a state I didn't know surrounded by people I didn't know, I really didn't have anyone, so lunch was literally the only thing at this school that I had to look forward too. I was actually considering applying to transfer somewhere back home for next semester, but then I met you, and I decided to stay".

Lawson hadn't known this, so he was silent for a moment to process it. He cleared his throat. "When we started dating?" He asked, and Sean raised his head to look at him, and then shook it.

"No, actually, though that would make more sense. When I first came here, no one was my kind of person, and I didn't meet anyone who I could see myself being friends with, but then we talked in Calc that day. I thought you were cute, and you were the first person who said things that I could laugh at and relate to, and you were the only one so far who seemed to really be interested in what I had to say, and I guess I just..." Sean looked a mixed of embarrassed and lost then, and he ducked his head down again.

"Hey," Lawson urged softly, hands moving to grip Sean's hips. He wanted to know what he was going to say.

It took a minute before Sean responded. "I guess... I thought we could be friends, and I thought that maybe staying wouldn't be such a bad idea. I know that's stupid. I mean, I barely knew you and I was kind of basing all of my happiness here off of you, but... it worked out right?"

"Yeah," Lawson confirmed softly, knowing that Sean could hear the smile in his voice but not caring because- good, Sean should know how happy he made him. "It all worked out".
