Lawson parked his car by his dorm, and then walked the short distance to Nathan's off campus apartment. His mother had been less than pleased with his hasty exit at the end of brunch, but Lawson couldn't stop thinking about Sean and Nathan in that apartment together, talking about who knows what, and he was eager to join them.

For some reason, Lawson had been expecting them to do something other than playing video games, but when he walked into Nathan's unlocked apartment, both boys were sitting in front the television, controllers in their hands.

Only Sean looked up when he entered, taking his eyes off the screen for long enough that Nathan swore, "fuck man, now I need to go revive you," but still Sean just smiled at him.

"Having fun?" Lawson asked, crossing the room and taking a seat in the space between the two of them.

"Maybe more so now than I was a few minutes ago," Sean claimed, and Nathan groaned loudly at the flirting. "Want to play?"

"No!" Nathan exclaimed loudly. "He sucks". This was true, but Lawson still scoffed, as if offended.

"That's because I don't like it," he defended.

"You don't like it because you suck," Nathan grumbled.

"Everyone sucks at everything without practice. If I played as much as you did, I bet I'd suck less".

"Whatever. You have refused to play with me ever since that day we became friends and I kicked your ass," Nate declared and Lawson threw him an annoyed look.

"I only asked you to play video games because I knew you liked them," Lawson admitted, and Sean laughed suddenly.

"You two bicker a lot".

"I know," Lawson said, turning his head towards him. "This is why I told Glenn he was a pain in the ass". All sound cut out in the room, and Lawson raised his head to look at the television, which Nathan had paused. As Lawson turned to face his friend, a small smile pulled at his lips. "Yes?"

"What about Glenn?" Nate inquired. "You saw Glenn?"

"I did," Lawson confirmed, leaning back on his arms and pressing into Sean's side. Neither of them acknowledged it, though Sean's hand came to rest on his back for a second before dropping. "Mom forgot eggs this morning, so I had to go to the grocery store and I ran into him there... also, Greg apparently is trying to find out where you live so he can come and punch you, and the next time you see Grace you should be cautious of her around your balls".

With a groan, Nathan fell backwards. "Oh my god. Greg hated me before I broke up with his brother-"

"He didn't hate you".

"He walked in on us having sex and don't even wait for me to pull out before he was yanking me out of the room. I'm lucky I even got my boxers on before he got me outside," Nathan pointed out, and Lawson hummed thoughtfully.

"Okay, So he doesn't love you-" Lawson agreed, only to be cut off.

"Now Grace hates me too? I already worked my way back up from that after I kissed her," Nathan grumbled and Lawson's eyes widened.

"You kissed Grace?"

"Yeah, man. I didn't tell you that?"

"No," Lawson was silent for a minute and then he nodded his head once. "Alright, nice man".

"Not nice," Nathan protested at the same time Sean asked:

"Who's Grace?"

"One of Glenn's best friends," Nathan answered while staring at the ceiling, and Sean made a face.

"You kissed his best friend?"

"Before we were together," Nathan assured. "I'm so lucky Glenn forgave me for that. I'm so lucky he forgave me for a lot of things". For a minute, Nathan seemed to ponder this, and then he turned his face to look at Lawson. "What did Glenn have to say?"

"He said he understands why you two are apart and he misses you and he's fully expecting the two of you to be back together at the end of the month. Also, he said he's really getting his shit together and he looks far less stressed than he had the last few times I saw him," Lawson summarized, and Nathan allowed his eyes to close as his body relaxed.

There was no indication of him moving anytime soon, so Lawson sat up to take the controller from his lap and lightly elbowed Sean. "Let's do this".

Doing this consisted of a lot of laughing from Sean, sometimes at Lawson just overall badness, but mostly whenever Lawson swore a lot, threw the controller, or vocalized his actions with phrases such as running away, running away.

At some point, Nathan had pushed himself into a seated position to watch, never once asking to take the remote back from Lawson. It was when Lawson died for what must have been the twentieth time, leaving him for Sean to come revive him when Nathan let out a laugh and said, "Lawson, you're lucky your boyfriend is so good at this, or else you wouldn't be allowed in my apartment anymore".

Due to his brains slow processing skills, Lawson said, "what do you mean I wouldn't be allowed back in," before realizing there was a far more important part of Nate's statement that needed to be addressed. "Ahh, boyfriend? Nathan, Sean and I are just friends" -for now- "you know this".

Neither Sean nor Lawson were paying attention to the game anymore, so it was no surprise when they died, their controllers shaking in their hands until slowing to a stop. Nathan snorted. "Yeah. Okay. I'm done pretending to believe you when you say that. You two are way too obvious. Honestly, you can't tell me that you aren't together and then be all over one another".

Lawson thought he was talking about how they had been sitting before, leaning into one another so their sides touched. "That's hardly being all over one another".

"Not now," Nathan snorted. "You're being tastefully cute right now. I'm talking about you two dancing at that party last weekend".

"What?" Lawson questioned, frowning. "Dancing? What are you talking about?" Nathan's eyes widened slightly, and then his gaze moved slight past Lawson to look at Sean. "Oh my god!" Lawson turned to look at Sean, who was very obviously avoiding his eyes. "That's what I did? I danced with you?!" Horrified, Lawson dropped his head into his hands.

The room filled with the sound of Nathan's laughter. "You didn't remember?" He asked between pants, sounding near hysterics. "You've such a fucking light weight, Lawson". The mortified boy groaned, still not lifting his head. "Hey. Are you embarrassed? Why are you embarrassed. You looked good. Really good".

"Oh my god!" Lawson exclaimed loudly. "I'm embarrassed, because it's embarrassing". He lifted his head then to look at Sean, who finally allowed his gaze to focus on Lawson. For some reason, Sean seemed totally unconcerned with Lawson's worry, maybe even a little amused. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because I  didn't want you to be embarrassed," Sean answered without pause.

"Should I be?"

Sean made an amused noise. "Hell no. But I knew you still would be. I mean, you are, aren't you?"

"Of course I am," Lawson grumbled, still looking at the other boy when something flashed in his eyes. Suddenly, Sean wasn't looking at him anymore, but past him. "Oh god. What else did you do?"

"Uh, Nothing," Sean claimed, voice soft. It didn't sound like the truth, and Lawson narrowed his eyes. With a sigh of defeat, Sean admitted, "you may or may not have tried to kiss me".

Without another word, Lawson got to his feet, ignoring the controller which fell off of his lap as he did so, and left the apartment with the sound of Nathan's hysterical laughter behind him.

When he got outside he immediately started back towards his dorm, cursing under his breath repeatedly for his stupid behavior. "I am never drinking again".

"Lawson, wait!" Sean called from behind him, but he didn't slow, only shoved his hands into the pockets of his shorts. From behind him, Sean hissed something through his teeth, and then he could hear the sound of his heavy footsteps on the pavement. It took him a matter of seconds to catch up with him. "Where are you going?"

"To my room".

"Why?"

"I'm running away," Lawson admitted. From the corner of his eye he saw Sean frown.

"Why?"

"Because I'm embarrassed and I don't know what else to do".

"Lawson, you really have no reason to be embarrassed," Sean assured and Lawson shot him a look. "What? You don't".

"I got super drunk, danced with you, and tried to kiss you, and then forgot about it. God, I can't imagine what you think of me right now". They slowed to a stop at a crosswalk, even though there were no cars to keep them from crossing. Lawson recalled what his mom had said to him that morning, about coming out and telling Sean how he felt. It would be embarrassing, he knew this, but he was also currently humiliated, so it seemed like a good time just to get it out of the way. "Sean, I like you. Like, a lot, and the fact that I made a fool of myself, that you saw me like that-"

Sean cut him off with a soft laugh. "Lawson, it wasn't as bad you seem to think it was. Also, I kind of realized that you liked me, and I like you too, though I'm sure you realized that as well".

"Even though I got super drunk and looked stupid in front of you?"

Sean smiled. "Well, I didn't think you liked stupid. I actually thought the opposite". Blue grey eyes flicked down Lawson body for a second and then Sean shook his head as if to clear his thoughts. "Honestly, Lawson, you could have thrown up on me and I wouldn't give a shit".

"That's..." sweet? It kind of was, but that didn't feel like the right thing to say. "Interesting". Sean laughed and Lawson cracked a hesitant smile. "So I shouldn't be embarrassed? Like... really?"

"Like really," Sean repeated, and Lawson pressed his lips together and hummed. "Come on. I'll walk you home". With a light touch to his elbow, Sean urged him to cross the street. When they got to the other side, Lawson was expecting the other boy's arm to drop, but instead it slipped down his arm until Sean could slot their fingers together. "This okay?"

It was more than okay, so Lawson just squeezed his fingers. "You know, if me dancing really was that good, it kind of sucks that you get to remember it and I don't". Sean's eyebrows raised. "I guess it's kind of punishment for me being an idiot, but it still sucks".

"We could most definitely do it again sometime. I think I would like that very much" Sean teased lightly and Lawson felt his eyes go wide.

"What? Really?"

"Lawson, I don't think you really understand what happened," Sean vocalized. "I'm pretty sure that was the most erotic experience of my life". There was nothing Lawson could think to say in response, so his mouth just opened and closed a couple of times. "You know, I've been meaning to ask you out, but I couldn't find the right time, but by now we've established that we both like men, and we both like one another, now seems like a fair time, yeah?"

"I... huh?"

"Would you be interested in going on a date. With me?" Sean questioned, sounding confident with himself, and once again Lawson openly gaped at him. "What?"

"That was straightforward".

"Is that not a thing we're trying out right now?" Sean questioned, eyebrows furrowing and Lawson laughed.

"I think maybe it is".

"Is that a yes then?" Sean moved closer to him so their shoulders bumped.

"Of course it is," Lawson confirmed with a small smile. "If I'm being honest, you could have asked me out the day we met and I would have said yes. I'm just glad that you're still interested after last weekend".

"I'm probably more interested after last weekend. Don't get me wrong, I've been into you for a while, but last weekend was...Lawson. You really don't remember?"

"Now that it's come up it sounds kind of familiar, but I can't picture it or anything". Sean hummed, seeming lost in his thoughts. "So you weren't joking when you said you wanted me to do it again?" The look Sean sent him was dark with something other than anger. It made Lawson beam. "Well then, let's see how this date goes and then we'll talk about it".
