57. Next Phase

It has been two bliss weeks since our wedding. I will say I was overly sore the few days after our wedding night but each time I moved it was the best reminder. Aiden did have an actual gift for me which was a diamond necklace, which I have been wearing since.

I am officially a Aunt now. Naida gave birth to my nephew three days after the wedding. Little Joseph Waters came out screaming. Of course the only person in the room with Naida was Kelvin, but we all went and visited the night he was born.

I have got to spend so much time with my little nephew it has me all happy and bubbly. I know that I said I wouldn't get excited about having a baby of my own but seeing him just made it pop in my mind and I know one I day will have this either by carrying or by adopting.

Aiden and I have also went to our first fertility specialist appointment. Which I had thankfully stopped my birth control when Aiden first brought it up and we decided to do this step or else I would be even longer on waiting. Instead, after the first appointment I have started the injections that I have to do daily.

Right now it is a little hard getting any sexual time in with my husband because through this phase we have to wear a condom or it could ruin everything and have to start over. After this phase then we are actually cut off from being able to have sex. So we have been trying to have sex daily with a condom but it doesn't feel as enjoyable for either of us. We just smile though because we are trying to make a baby and know it will all be worth it after.

Althought later on today I go for the retrieval phase which means we can't have active sex at all until two weeks after the embryo transfer. We have been able to speed up much of the process because all that was needed is to make sure my follicles are mature enough and only needed these two weeks to do. By this time next week I will have the transfer and wait to see if it worked. Also Aiden has done gave his sperm over to them, which I helped him out while being in that tiny room to do that process.

The only downfall is the doctor told us not to get our hopes up on the first cycle. Apparently, it can take as many as six cycles of IVF for it to be successful. Aiden and I will just take it one cycle at a time and be in agreeance with everything the entire time. He just keeps saying at my pace and I tell him he has to agree too.

Valan and I have since went shopping and bought everything needed for the catering business food wise and also the utensils needed. The only thing we have tried to figure out is where Joseph will stay while we have an event, because Naida is refusing to stay home and not work until the normally waiting postpartum most women do after giving birth. Thankfully, Mom offered to watch him for the beginning until we know on how things will go, because Naida and Kelvin both work the events with Val and I.

Right now, I am holding my nephew while he feeds from his bottle. Naida is here with Val too, with us all sitting in the kitchen of mine and Aiden's home. Aiden is sadly at work but should be home an hour before my appointment, since he doesn't want to miss even a single step. Plus, I have to be careful operating a vehicle after this appointment. No one but the two of us know about all the IVF we are trying.

Joseph finishes his bottle and I put it on the table then pick him up to burp him.

"I don't see how he burps so fast for you." Naida laughs and drinks her tea.

She had a hard time when Joseph was born with trying to breastfeed but the little guy just wouldn't do it.

"Aunt Kelsie just has the magic touch huh." I smile as he burps then makes some baby sounds before I move him back down and rock him lightly as his little eyes start to close.

"Remind me of that when he is cranky and going through a feeding spell." Naida smiles.

"Bring him over or call me over and I will help no matter the hour." I smile, as my finger lightly runs over his soft hair.

I love the smell of his baby shampoo and have been guilty of sniffing his little hair fuzz.

"I would freak having an infant at home. I love Joseph but couldn't do it." Val laughs and Naida joins her.

"It is different and scary at first. Kelvin will literally stay up just watching Joseph sleep." Naida smiles.

"Oh I know. Mom said one time he looked worse than death." I giggle.

Naida nods and sits her tea down. "She told him to get to bed and sleep or she would find a switch to his backside."

We all laugh.

"It helped him though too because he needed it with the shop being closed that day." Naida adds.

We chat about the upcoming catering jobs. Since we officially get to cooking for our first one back after the hurricane in two days time. Val did pull out the clean platters to where Naida could see them in person, which she loved as much as we did when buying them.

Joseph sleeps in my arms instead of placing him in the travel bassinet that Naida brings here for him when she comes. Sure, I may be spoiling him but what are Aunts best for after all so I have no care in the world unless Naida tells me to lay him down I won't do it.

Time passes and before I know it the front door opens. Aiden walks in and looks at us.

"Ladies." Aiden smiles and walks over to me, leaning down to kiss me lightly.

"Well I am off and shall see you in two days. It is so exciting and fun we are back to cooking." Val does a silent clap and dashes out the door.

"I got to get this little guy home and start dinner for Kelvin with the shop closing in an hour." Naida stands and goes to get the diaper bag.

"Let me get that for you." Aiden gets the bag and I stand with Joseph.

We walk out the door and Aiden puts the bag in the front seat, while Naida takes Joseph to put him in his carseat.

"I will see you soon." I smile as Naida stands and hugs me.

"See you in two days time for the fun." She smiles.

"Oh yes, it is very exciting! Drive safe." I close the door once she gets in the driver seat.

Aiden and I watch as she pulls out of the driveway from where we can see.

"Are you ready Cookie?"

"More than ever. They said it wouldn't hurt." I smile as he wraps his arms around me.

"No because they will give you some type of relaxing medicine." Aiden laughs and I nod.

"Let me grab the keys and lock up." Aiden kisses my head and I get in his car and buckled in waiting for us to hit the road to start the next phase in this baby journey.
