Springing up from the floor, surprisingly not falling over since my legs were crossed. Redailing Kelsie, the busy beeps come to my ear and not just her voice-mail box.

I move to the door and the same security guard that gave me a water and spoke with me earlier, steps in my way.

"Please move I need to leave." I try to keep my voice calm and level.

"I can't let you do that Mr. Scenix." The man grimaces like he hates to tell me no. "The hurricane has not passed completely and I can't let you out in such dangerous conditions."

I run a hand through my hair and walk over to the side of the room I been occupying.

My hand runs through my hair, as my feet pace a small path. The pain in my chest never going away and I still can't take a deep breath of air.

"Mr. Scenix? Is there anything I can do to help you in this moment?" The man comes over after a few minutes.

"No, thank you though. Nothing will help until I can get out of here and to my girlfriend."

"If it is the dropped phone calls, there may be a tower down or just the harsh weather conditions blocking it out. As everyone's dropped about the same time."

"It's not just that. My girlfriend's roof was ripping and before the line went dead, I heard her screams before a loud crashing sounded with shattering."

The sound is stuck on my mind currently on repeat.

My voice has not been a whisper but normal talking tone, meaning everyone has heard me. Several of the ladies gasp as everyone stands.

One of the ladies ask if she lived in one area, which is the same neighborhood. The lady has her mother living in that area and said it is getting slammed before she lost service with her mom.

I feel for the lady also, but it honestly does nothing to help the way I currently have felt.

Time passes with each minute being agonizingly slow. My instinct is to call Laken. I settle for sending him a text to see how they are doing and then I end up doing the same for Kelvin.

Both respond that they are safe and so far can just hear the storm.

I want to talk to Laken on it but I dont want to end up causing worry for him or Valan, because he will tell her.

If I even told Kelvin, he would risk his life to get there as I would and Naida doesn't need that stress.

This is truly something I am on my own with worry. They can get mad later since I am the only one that knows. Hopefully they will understand I don't want them to worry and I don't have the answers to even know myself if she is safe. There is no reason to make others feel this way and it is not something I would wish on anyone.

"We are in the clear." One of the security teams speaks.

I stop my pacing to see the weather alert stating the same.

No one moves for the door but looks to me, the one security guard holds it open and I bolt for it. Everyone following in behind.

My keys come out of my suite pocket and I am in my car in less than five minutes. Having ran basically to the garage where I park and taking the stairs instead of the elevator everyone else was waiting on. By time I have the car in drive and passing the elevator other employees are just fixing to exit it.

The roads have debre but not to heavy within the city limits where my building is located. As I get closer to Kelsie's neighbor, I am force to slow down and swerve to miss even more things in the road. Lawn decorations, trees, plants, and bushes are all thrown everywhere.

Pulling into the driveway, I throw the car in park and the keys are in my hand as the driver door closing behind me getting out.

My heart falls right out of my ass, as I see a large tree sticking up through the roof. My hands shake as I try to use the key to unlock the front door, something Kelsie and I exchanged couple of months back.

The houses surrounding hers is also shown to have damage.

Finally pushing through the door, I go straight to the bedroom.

"Kelsie!" My voice travels.

I hear her muffled voice as I reach the bathroom area. My eyes go wide as part of the tree has smashed the mirror above the sink and the glass shower doors are no longer there. Glass covers the floor and I can see the root of the tree smashed through the wall next to the bathroom which would be the pantry side. Thank God, she wasn't in there or she would have been crushed.

"Kelsie." I walk over the glass to the tub.

The comforter is shredded by all the glass that burst over the top.

The comforter moves slightly. "Aiden!"

"Hold on let me get the comforter moved to where the glass won't fall right on you." I pick up several of the large pieces of glass and toss them on the floor to the side of the tub.

With steady hands I lift the comforter that has been made heavy by the rain that soaked it. Once I pull it back, there is still glass inside the tub but there is the love of my life, huddled in a ball.

"Kelsie." My breathe comes back.

"Aiden. I was so scared." Kelsie shakes as she releases her hold around her legs, crying.

I gently take her arms and help her sit up away from the glass before scooping her up into my arms. Her body is soaking wet also from the rainfall.

Even though she is still wearing her shoes, I carry her all the way to the bedroom and set her on the bed. A large part of me just needed to hold her and it seemed to calm her shakes, but it's not from the cold just from being scared.

Her hands fist my shirt when I sit her down. My lips land on hers and her soft cries calm a second after. When I pull back from the soft kiss, I wipe my thumbs over her cheeks.

"We need to get you in dry clothes." I whisper and her hands let me go.

I move to the opposite side of the room and open the closet door to see everything here is still safe and dry. As it stands damage is to the bathroom and pantry area from just the small section I've looked at while getting to her.

Bringing a set of clothes over, I help Kelsie to undress and use the bed sheet to dry her off. Since the towels in the master bath is cut off by the tree and the spare bathroom never held any towels. With gentle touches, I help her dress and then she looks at the wet spot on my suite from where I held her while drenched.

"How are you feeling?" I ask, since I never seen any cuts or scraps on her skin.

"Better now your here. That was scary though and I literally just threw the comforter over top of me and put my phone in my shirt and bra, before the tree came smashing in and all the glass bursting. It made the whole floor shake so hard and I could hear the glass cutting through the fabric."

"Your safe now." I mumur and kiss her again.

After a few minutes, Kelsie pulls back to look around. "Well can't stay here."

"Do you have suitcases?"

"In the closet toward the back." She nods.

I kiss her forehead and go get them to sit them on the end of the bed. Kelsie opens some drawers and uses one bag for pajamas and under garments. While I pull hangers from her closet and place them on the other bag. I help her fold and roll them up to place in the second bag.

"Is it bad all of my clothes literally fit these two bags?" She shakes her head.

"That is some tight packing, though." I smile.

At some point, I really do want to get her more clothing items.

I am quick to place the bags in the car and come back to Kelsie. Finding her looking around her house and in the kitchen. The pantry door is now in pieces by the sink across from where it is supposed to have been.

Her eyes are full of tears as my arms wrap around her.

"We will get this all fixed. I promise." I whisper in her ear.

"It won't ever be the same again, though." She curls into my arms as soft sniffles come from her.
