"You know I don't like waking up in an empty bed, baby," Kastor glanced over his shoulder, seeing Venice lingering in the doorway. Normally, the sight of her in that beautiful silk robe barely covering her naked body would have been rather nice for the vampire but he hadn't been in the mood lately.

"Sorry, I thought I would make you something. You know I love laying with you whilst you sleep but being alone with my thoughts was becoming quite depressive," Kastor plated the grilled cheese sandwich and sat down at the dining table, immediately joined by Venice.

"I'm going to have to teach you how to make something with fewer calories, you're getting me fat," Venice rested her hand over Kastor's whilst she ate.

"You're beautiful, Ven, and you're not fat," Kastor muttered absently, his thoughts fading back into that of his father. He hadn't gone back to see him for well over a week, though he was desperate to ensure his safety. He knew he wouldn't want him around during his addiction but with each day that passed, Kastor just found another excuse not to go back.

"What's going through that pretty little head of yours, baby?" Venice slid onto Kastor's lap, straddling him as she cupped his cheeks.

"The usual," Kastor said with a sigh, resting his hands on Venice's hips.

"You're worried about your dad?" Kastor nodded, leaning his head forward and resting it on Venice's shoulder, "maybe it's time you go back and see him. You've put this off long enough, I think it would do you both some good to talk about it all."

"Will you come with me?" Kastor asked in a small voice.

"I can't, baby, I have work today until 5, I'm sorry. And I don't know if Dante is still mad at me about the whole thing in his gallery. It's probably best if you go see him alone," Venice lifted Kastor's head, placing a few chaste kisses on his lips before standing up and taking her plate to the sink, "I'm sick of that Elik guy watching your every move too, it's such a mood killer."

"My father really should have picked a vampire with more experience in quiet observation," Kastor drew back the curtain just a little, his eyes easily finding Elik stood watching him across the street, trying his best to blend in with his surroundings.

"You text me when you get home, OK?" Venice draped her arms around Kastor's waist from behind, "and call me once you've sorted everything out?"

"Of course," Kastor turned and hugged Venice tight in his arms, "I love you, Ven," he murmured into her skin.

"I love you too, baby."

Kastor walked back to the house, Venice lived a few miles away and usually, he would have driven but he was truly dreading getting home. There was a pit in his stomach that grew with every step, nausea building within the vampire. He had no idea what he was walking into, what state his father would be in was a mystery to him.

"Kastor?" the vampire turned as Nya called out to him, walking over with Sev.

"Is my father in?" Nya and Sev both frowned at Kastor's question.

"We were hoping you knew where he had gone," fear spiked through Kastor, the pit in his stomach swelling from fear of confrontation to fear of his father's wellbeing.

"What? You don't know where he is?"

"No. He was fine when we left five days ago, Fionn was still with him. But we returned a few hours later and there was no answer at the door. We agreed to not inform the rest of the coven and we were waiting a week before telling you, we didn't want to worry you if it was nothing," Kastor could have yelled at the two vampires, hell, he could have choked them to death, but he knew what they did was correct. They weren't allowed to ever enter the house without expressed permission from either Dante or Kastor so it made sense that they would just worry in silence.

When the three got to the house Kastor allowed Nya and Sev to follow him in, calling out for his father with no response. There was an awful smell emanating from the kitchen, a plate with rotting food on it with Fionn's phone and wallet next to it.

"There's blood out here," Nya called from the hallway, "a wolf's and a vampire's," Nya joined Kastor and her husband in the kitchen, "it's not a lot but I would assume they were both taken."

"How old?" Kastor asked, picking up Fionn's phone. 32 missed calls and over 90 texts from an Ocie, someone was missing him. His beta maybe?

"Days. They must have been taken when Dante was still weak, he wouldn't be so easy to subdue if he was at full strength," just as Kastor was about to place the phone back where it had been, it began to ring. He glanced toward Nya and Sev, unsure what to do.

"Answer it, we'll go see if we can find anything else around the house that might tell us where they've been taken," Nya took Sev's hand, leading him from the room.

"Hello?" Kastor said into the phone.

"Who is this? Where the fuck is Fionn?" the line was crackling but the angered female voice was shockingly clear to Kastor.

"I, um, I don't know where Fionn is. I'm Kastor, Dante Isamar's son. My father is gone too."

"Kastor? You're the one that looked after my little sister, and you painted that picture of her?"

"Yes, are you Fionn's beta? Maybe we should meet at the border and I can allow you on our land, you might be able to track Fionn from the blood-"

"Blood? He was hurt?" Kastor grimaced at the sudden change of volume.

"It looks so, there is some of my father's blood too," Kastor heard a sigh over the phone.

"Yeah, OK, meeting is a good idea. Have you told many of your coven about Dante going missing?"

"No, only two, it's best not to worry them."

"Good, good, I've been keeping Fi's disappearance a secret too. I think we should try to find them ourselves before we tell everyone," Kastor looked up as Nya and Sev re-entered the room with nothing found elsewhere in the house.

"OK. I'll see you at the border," Kastor hung up the phone and picked up the wallet. He asked Nya and Sev to join him at the border, not for security purposes, he just didn't want to be alone anymore.

Guilt was beginning to set in. Had he not walked out when his father needed him maybe he could have stopped them being taken. His own childish nature could be the cause of his father's death. No, he pushed those thoughts away, they were venomous and, in that moment, he didn't need to have a breakdown.

The vampires weren't stood at the border for long before a woman and two men walked from the tree line. The woman had honey blonde hair that was long, straight and flowed over her shoulders. She was radiant, Kastor couldn't deny that. The two men were identical, walking in toe with one another behind the woman.

"Kastor, it's nice to finally meet you. Thank you for caring for my little sister," Ocie said with a smile as she stood a few feet from Kastor, "this is Reign and Shade Darsey, they're the only two that know about Fi's disappearance. I brought them for protection, Fi did go missing on your land, I hope it doesn't offend you," Reign was on the left and Shade on the right, Kastor knew he would forget which was which, it made him wish he had his father's near eidetic memory.

"It's understandable, though I don't believe my father had anything do with their disappearance. This is Nya and Sev Provan, they were the last to see Fionn and my father alive," at the sight of Nya, Shade nudged his twin with a smirk. Kastor knew that would aggravate Sev and wasn't surprised by the vampire's next action.

Out of the corner of his eye, Kastor saw Sev tug Nya in front of him, wrapping an arm around her waist as he brushed her hair away from her neck. Her back was to his chest, a smile on her lips as she tilted her head to the side. Sev glowered at the two male wolves before sinking his fangs into her ashen flesh.

"W-What are they doing?" Ocie stammered, stepping back, keeping her wide eyes on the two vampires.

"He's showing ownership of his wife, marking her in the presence of your wolves. It's a vampire thing, we're very protective," Kastor turned his attention to Shade, "I would advise against so much as breathing in Nya's direction, Sev has every right to rip you to pieces if he feels threatened. I can do nothing to stop him. They're mates," Kastor shrugged a shoulder, hearing a soft moan drift through the air, "Sev, leave her with some blood, I would prefer if she were conscious for now," Sev growled softly and Kastor rolled his eyes, "they will join us soon. Come," Kastor held his hand out for Ocie to take. She still looked rather startled by Sev and it was a few seconds before she managed to clasp Kastor's hand. As she stepped over into the Isamar land, the severity of the situation truly hit Kastor. His father had been taken, and he didn't even know where to begin to find him.
