Dear Beloved Reader,

If you've finished Taming the Street Racer in its entirety, I love you so much. For a little less than three months, this book has been my baby and Griver has become a permanent piece of my heart. I love these characters with all my being, and I love you even more. This would not have been possible without you, our dedicated readers.

But I also have a surprise for you. I am not a ME. I am a WE. Haha, that made no sense. What I'm trying to say is . . . Taming the Street Racer was actually created by two girls who have been close friends since fourth grade. Between the two of us, Grayson and River came to life, and the story you just read was created from nothing.

I'll let you in another little secret: Violet and Peyton were based on the two of us (not our real names, of course). The picture attached is actually of us^^. About 74% of the jokes that came out of their mouths were based off of shit that we said, at one point in time. We really cracked ourselves up writing some of the dialogue, and so many of our inside jokes are weaved into the chapters. Years of friendship were epitomized in this book.

Violet wrote and Peyton planned/outlined/edited. We butt heads on many occasions, and actually got into one pretty serious fight in the middle of the book. We also fought tirelessly over the ending of this book (Pey wanted a more dramatic/sad ending, while I wanted a dramatic but still very happy/satisfying ending). Nonetheless, creating this book has only strengthened our friendship. I mean, look at it from my POV (the writer). I wrote several graphic (lowkey kinky) smut scenes and had my best friend examine, edit, and critique it. How could we not grow closer?

Now the news you all have been dreading to hear. We are sad to announce that Taming the Street Racer will not have a sequel. I think Riv and Gray's story has come to a perfect close, and I hope you agree.

However, there IS A SPIN-OFF BOOK centered around Riv and Gray's daughter Scarlett. It's a love triangle unlike any you've ever read, and I promise you'll fall in love with both the male leads. It's already posted, so go check it out!

In the beginning, we would celebrate over each and every read—I actually have text messages where we flipped out over 15 reads lmao. We never imagined that we would ever surpass 10K. We never expected our baby to reach these heights but, alas, here we are with just over 2 million reads! Though it saddens us that it must come to an end, Taming the Street Racer will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and we hope it has made a home in yours as well.

Hey, "Peyton" here. I wanted to let you guys in on some ideas that we had but ended up changing. FIRSTLY, Gracie was originally going to be a boy named Brendan, who we were going to KILL in the car crash. Very happy we didn't end up doing that. Another thing: Tommy was never supposed to exist, but I figured if I got my 'Sadie', Violet deserved her 'Tommy'. He is lowkey gay for Grayson though (omg spinoff book?).

Obviously I'm not the writer here... If I was, this book would've been like 20 chapters with really bad descriptions of Griver's weird ass sex (all Violet's ideas btw). These characters deserved the best possible ending after all they went through, so thank you to all the nice people (not the mean people who sent us death threats) who trusted the story and our ideas. I could never have done this without my talented best friend, so my biggest thank you goes to her. I will cherish these memories of creating this masterpiece with you forever. And probably bring some up during my maid of honor speech at your wedding to Tommy.

ALSO! As we said, we laughed our ASSES off writing some portions of this. Just to give you an idea of how fucked our writing/planning process was, here is a screenshot of a chapter outline that we probably wrote at 3 am while on FaceTime with each other. Even though this is SO DIFFERENT from how the chapter actually turned out, I hope y'all find it as hilarious as we did.
