Hailey's POV.
I woke up with a slight groan escaping my lips and my eyes shot open wondering what time it is.
I jolted up, sitting straight on the bed, and my eyes widened as I stared at the clock.
"Holy shit!" I gasped out and struggled to get out of the bed and ended up falling on my face flat on the floor.
"Ouch," I bawled out, squeezing my face at the slight pains I felt on my cheeks, and crawled myself out of the blanket on all fours.
I stood up immediately and picked up my blanket, throwing it back on the bed.
I stared at the wall clock again and pulled off the ribbon I used in packing my hair up.
'Six Forty-five, I have less than thirty minutes to get ready and run out of the house,' I thought to myself as I scraped off the clothes I was wearing and scooted into the bathroom.
After, bathing for what didn't last more than ten minutes, I entered my room back and went forth to my closest, wrapping the white towel around my body firmly.
I brought out my school uniform and walked back to my bed, I dropped my uniform neatly on the bed and took my body lotion.
After smearing the cream substance on my body, I wore my undies as fast as possible and wore my school uniform.
Without, bothering myself with any touch of make-up, I grabbed my school bag and hurried out of my room.
I jogged down the stairs and was running towards the door.
My head was banging but having breakfast would be later, I had to rush to school because of our English teacher.
God knows that woman is a pure assistant to the devil, especially when you are late to her class, I've seen the insults and punishment she had given other students in my class and I don't want to be a victim, either.
"Hailey!" I heard mum calling me, and I had no choice but to stop in my tracks.
"Mum, see you later," I told her, reaching for the doorknob.

"Won't you be having breakfast?" She asked with a raised voice.
"No!" I responded loudly.
"Wait! I prepared a food box for you," She told me, making me stop and turned around to face her.
'I would be needing that, if I know I don't want to be beaten by hunger,' I told myself, I walked over to mum and followed behind her as she entered the dining room.
"Here, I've put your food inside in case you won't be eating this morning," She smiled handing me a blue food box, yeah, it looks childish but right now, I don't mind about it.
"Thanks, mum,"
"You are welcome," She beamed.
"Where's Ryan?" I asked her, raising a brow at her.
"He left already after checking up on you in the room, he said you were a bit tired and needed to rest," Mum told me and I frowned.
"That bastard!" I cussed with an annoyed face.
"Hailey, your Stepbrother Isn't a bastard, you should stop with vulgar language,' My mum nagged me while I scoffed.
'Why didn't he wake me up?' I thought to myself.
"Bye mum," I retorted.
"Thanks for this," I appreciated and raised the lunch box slightly and my mum nodded, amusement in her eyes as she smiled and waved at me.
I got out of the house and on the street within seconds and quickly flagged down a cab to take me to school.
I was running through the school hallway which was now empty, I didn't bother stopping at my locker to take any books.
Likewise, I was late, and it was all thanks to Ryan if he hadn't taken me to that beer City Hall last night. Furthermore, I wouldn't have gotten used to the particular beer I drank immediately, I remembered having like 3 mugs before Ryan stopped me and said that was enough.
I held on to the lunch box, protecting it with my arms, so, it won't fall... That would be the worst heartbreak ever if the food inside should pour.
I stopped and breathed out and in, trying to calm myself, but to my bad luck, my English teacher was already in class. The door was slightly open, and I almost turned jelly because my legs were getting weak.
'What am I going to do?' I sighed, praying silently in my heart.
"Hey, you!"
"Come here, this instance with your notebook," The cranky loud voice of our English teacher was heard, at first, my heart skipped beating, and a chill ran through me.
A chill of fear...
At first, I thought she saw me and was referring to me, but when I saw Jude, standing up from his seat with evident annoyance written all over his face, I thought of using the opportunity to enter the class, since she will be focused on speaking with Jude.
I peeped into class, trying to check if Ryan was in class, but he wasn't.
'Where, did that jerk, go to? I thought he would be in class by now,' I wondered to myself.
My classmates, seating on the first seat, saw me and I placed an index finger on my mouth, telling them to please keep quiet and that they shouldn't focus on me.
I opened the door a bit wider, with Jude standing beside our English teacher, his body was big enough to block her view, and since her head was bent and focused on his notebook.
I lowered my back and walked silently on bent knees as I entered the class.
Almost, I had already gotten to where the front seat was arranged in the class.
"Are you just coming into my class?" That spooky voice trapped and stopped me in my tracks as I closed my eyes.
'Bingo! I've been caught,' I thought to myself drastically.
I should have waited until the class was over before entering the class.
"I'm talking to you, slim-headed dimwit," She barked at me.
'Wow!'
I closed my eyes in terror and turned around to face her as she glared at me sternly.
"Are you just coming into my class?" She frowned at me.
"No," I blurted without a second thought.
"Are you lying to me?" She scoffed unbelievably, as she eyed me from head to toe.
"No... I mean yes," I stuttered, not even thinking straight, this woman has scared the shits out of me.
"I didn't mean to come late to class, I-I," I thought of a tangible lie to give to her, but no worthy lies were coming through my head.
"She got late because of me," A deep voice said.
At last! My savior... My savior had come to my aid.
I turned around to see who it was and my face fell.
'Ryan?'
Ryan glanced at me, a mused smile playing on his lips as he walked closer to me.
"We are late, and we will be going to the detention room," Ryan said to the teacher and grabbed my wrist.
"What?" I asked, shockingly, and snatched my hand away from him.
He couldn't even come up with anything reasonable to say to let me stay in class, even if he didn't have any interest in staying in class.
'Does he have to drag me with him?' I glared at him.
"I got late because his car broke down on the way to school," I lied instead, while the teacher gave Ryan and me a bored look.
"You heard him, now both of you get out!" She ordered, and that was a hot slap to my face.
Without saying anything again, I turned towards the door and walked out with my head low, and Ryan followed behind me.
"You see, there's no point lying to that crazy woman, she would have kicked us out whether we were saying the truth or not," Ryan chuckled behind me.
"Shut up." I mumbled out.
'Maybe if you didn't bring up the idea of going to the detention room, she would have pardoned us,' I thought, but Ryan was right she would have kicked us out of the class whether we were telling the truth or not, she didn't give a damn to anything.
