LOGAN'S POV:

I watched Mia walk away before turning back to her dad. I couldn't look at him the same way anymore. There had always been something about him that I didn't like. He had an arrogance about him whenever we spoke and he had reminded me many times that he was older and had more experience than I did. I always felt as though he was challenging me.

But now, he seemed more sinister. There was a look in his eye that I couldn't ignore and I'm sure of it weren't for my superior position, he'd have tried something by now. "What the fuck is going on?" He growled, eyes flickering between me and where Mia had just left. "Why are you in my house?"

"You're lucky you're still fucking breathing," I told him. The fact that he'd gone after my kids had enraged me. I couldn't deny that he had a right to hate me but what he did crossed a line and I wanted nothing more than to choke the life out of him.

He simply scoffed and shook his head. "I did what I had to do. Mia will understand eventually."

"I don't think she will."

He glared at me. "What is she talking to Ashley about?"

I couldn't help but smirk. He'd be a lot less confident in a moment. "Mia asked me to find out what happened to her mother," I explained, my grin widening when he went pale. "She wanted closure."

His jaw clenched but he kept his expression hard, trying to give nothing away. "And? Did you find anything?"

I nodded. "I did. In fact, I found the men responsible for her death. Which is surprising since she thought you'd dealt with them."

A frown crossed his face and he turned to the men around us. "Give us some privacy," he ordered and I scoffed.

"They don't take orders from you."

None of the men moved a muscle and his frown only grew. "Spit it out, Sternato, why are you here?"

"Show some fucking respect! You know exactly why I'm here. I have your men and they told me everything." The spark in his eye vanished and his shoulders sagged. There was no point pretending anymore. "You murdered your wife and now your life is in my hands so watch your fucking tone with me."

He slumped. "And Mia knows?" He asked and I nodded. "This is all your fault," he snapped, his face turning red. "None of this was supposed to happen. It's because you took her away that-."

"Let's talk about that!" I interrupted, feeling my own temper rising. I could only tolerate disrespect for so long. "Let's talk about when I came for my money and you claimed to not have it. It wasn't just your wife's death I looked into. You had my money. So why the fuck did you lie and let me walk away with your daughter."

Again, he started, surprise overtaking his features. His entire demeanour crumpled and suddenly, he wasn't a mafia man, he was just an idiot worming his way out of the shit he'd done. "One of my soldiers owed someone money. He asked me for it and when I refused, he threatened to blab about Julia. I couldn't risk the girls finding out."

I shook my head. "So, you chose to get rid of one of them instead?"

"You took her!" he snapped and I scoffed.

"And you let me. You had that money; you could've paid me what you owed and owned up to the fact you killed the mother of your children but instead you sold your daughter off to me to keep your fucking secret." I couldn't stand the man in front of me. Mia deserved so much more than a selfish father.

He went quiet for a moment and when he looked back at me, I could see tears in his eyes. "Does she know?" he asked me.

I opened my mouth to tell him that she didn't but I was interrupted. "She does now." I felt my heart sink in my chest and when I turned, Mia looked so broken that it pained me.

"Mi," I called, watching her tears fall with a lump in my throat. She didn't look at me. She looked directly into her dad's eyes and I could see her pleading with him, begging him to tell her it wasn't true. But he didn't. he didn't say anything. She nodded her head and ran for the front door, Ashley coming into view behind her with tear-stained cheeks. "Mia," I called, following her out.

She leant her weight against the small wall that lined the front garden, struggling to breathe. "I'm so sorry," I told her, my hands finding her waist.

"How long have you known?" She asked me, glancing up so I could see the pain in her eyes.

"I found out yesterday," I said, "I'm really sorry Mi. I wanted to tell you but I didn't want to upset you anymore." Before I finished, she collapsed into my arms, crying heavily. "I'm sorry baby," I whispered against her hair. I hated the sound of her crying. I'd learnt over the past few days that every time she cried, I felt a piece of me break.

"I want to go home," she mumbled through her sobs and I nodded instantly. I wanted to get her as far away from Archor as possible.

"No," he protested, stepping towards us. "Mia, you aren't going anywhere. We need to talk about this." She shook her head and buried herself further in my arms, making it clear she didn't want to stay. "You're not taking her from me again!"

I shook my head. "I am taking her. She doesn't want to speak to you." I manoeuvred her away from him. "Come on, lets go." I walked her towards the car while Archor continued to shout and argue.

Once we reached the car she turned back to her sister. "Ash?"

Archor shook his head. "Absolutely not," he stated, reaching for his other daughter and grabbing her wrist. "She's not going anywhere."

I let go of Mia and stepped forward when I saw panic cross Ashley's face. She let out a soft sob and looked up at her father. "I want to go with Mia," she told him, shaking off his grip. She stepped towards me and I moved between them so he couldn't reach her.

"What?" He snapped, shaking his head.

I looked to my men and nodded, knowing they were awaiting my order. "Arrest him. Keep this quiet for now."

They swarmed towards him while he began to yell and scream. "I'll kill you!" He warned and I rolled my eyes. "I'll fucking kill you!"

I ignored him and turned back to Mia who threw her arms around her sister and cried. I wanted nothing more than to take all of her pain away. "I'm sorry," I told her when they finally let go of each other. "Let's go."
