There's a certain aura or confidence I receive when dealing with Jacey. I didn't mind it, I just never failed to surprise myself.

Anyway, today the mayor organized an event dealing with the founders. Something to do with charity.

I really don't want to go but since Matt is now apart of the council. Our attendance is required. We need to paint a pretty picture given we are the new people.

I straightened then curled my hair, I pin it up and out of the way. My dress is black and elegant, loose fitting with a deep v-cut.

My shoes didn't matter given my dress being so long but I put on silver rhinestoned heels. Leaving me to put on silver jewelry to match.

Me without hoops is like missing my second half. They can call me ghetto if they want, I'm lost without them.

"Ready?" Mom asks as I'm coming downstairs.

"Ready as I'll ever be." I sigh giving her a smile.

Matt, mom and I get into the car and I put my earphones in, entering my own world for the time being.

The drive wasn't as long as I thought it would be. Everyone walked around in suits and fancy dresses.

I just keep to myself smiling and meeting anyone that I was expected to.

"Am I allowed to sit down?" I ask.

"Don't be dull doll, of course you can sit down." Mom chuckles. "Go ahead."

I turn around walking toward the back doors. There's seating allowing you to admire the city light at night.

It's beautiful but it always makes me sad.

We're ruining this planet. To think this all used to be trees, grass, ponds.

I always ruin things thinking way too deeply about it.
Which is why I just keep most of my thoughts to myself. Why speak and ruin someone else's perspective?

"You look even worse than usual snooper." Jacey sighs ruining the silence.

"And you look demented but you don't see me saying it out loud bick." I say looking at him in his tux. He cleans up nicely I will admit.

His hair slick, gelled back. Hairline edged up, facial hair trimmed. He smells good I guess.

"A picture would last longer you know." He looks at me, snapping me back into reality.

"Why would I want a picture? So my phone could start malfunctioning?" I frown as he walks closer toward me.

"Because I look that good? Yes." He smirks looking down at me.

I scoff, "You know what, where's your girlfriend and your posse? Why are you even out here?" I ask clearly annoyed.

"You think I have a girlfriend?" He smirks.

I look up at him realizing how close he was.
"You have a girlfriend." I confirm turning my body back toward the view.

"Who? Please let me in on this inside information about myself." He frowns hiding his amusement with fake interest.

"I don't even know her name but she's always with you. You two have that vibe." I look at him, subtly moving back a step. Creating space between us.

"We have that vibe?" He chuckles.

"Don't mock me, please go away." I wince.

"I think I make you nervous." He says stepping close to me once more.

"You make me nervous? I continuously stand up to you. I really got under your skin today. So much so, you looked to be on the verge of a breakdown. Coming to vent to your six year old little sister but you make me nervous?" I rant backing up, each and every time he reduces the space.

I'm walking backwards until I finally bump into the wall behind me.

"Then why do you keep trying to get away from me?" He asks lifting my chin, forcing me to look at him.

"I think you're panicking, cracking under pressure. Retaliating in the only way you know how and that's lust and flirtation. That's probably what you use to get out of everything. Don't touch me." I move his hand, pointing warning him once more.

"Snooper hasn't done enough snooping. You think you know me." He concludes.

"Yes, I've observed plenty of guys like you in my lifetime." I inform moving him out of my way deciding to just sit inside.
