I stare at the wall sitting in my living room.

After I put the groceries away I felt I had to gather myself.

What in the world was he doing here?

Of all places to be, it just has to be here?

Sade plays in the background as she helped soothe my headspace.

I'm trying to grasp what just happened. I was pretty much unresponsive to Natasha, she worried but I brushed her off.

I fidget with my necklace debating on what it is I should do.

More than likely just wait it out. I mean he travels places all of the time, for sure he'll be leaving.

How soon?

I sigh deciding to relax with a bath. My house has a lot of windows, its own little pond.

Vines and plants ran throughout the house and on the outside for decor. Very earthy, Mother Nature type vibe that I fell in love with.

The birds sang songs and there were rarely any mosquitoes. Butterflies were around constantly though.

The wind chimes were the icing on the cake.

The skylight above the bathtub allowed me to look up at the clouds.

Darlin, darlin, darlin

Is this the end?

Still in love with you

I sang the lyrics as I showered.

Once I finished I just walk around carefree.

I allow my body to air dry, continuing my concert.

Twice I turn my back on you

I fell flat on my face but didn't-

The doorbell interrupt my vocal chords.

I throw on my robe, sliding on my house shoes.

I walk across my bedroom, down the four steps, through the hallway past the kitchen and into the front room.

"Kia o-." I cut my New Zealand greetings off.

"Rose." He says letting himself in.

"What- did I invite you into my home?"

"It's nice..." He nods in approval looking around as he adjust the sleeves on his suit.

"How did you find me?" I cross my arms.

"You know the answer to that. Turn the location off on your phone." He says. "I've known where you've been this whole time."

"Lie."

"Samuel, Francesca, Alease, Annika, Rhiannon, Liam, Caleb, Wren, Queen, Chaoxiang,...." He begins listing my closest friends I'd met in my travels.

I frown, mouth slightly open in disbelief as he kept going.

"I could keep going, my point is who do you think those people came from? Figuratively speaking of course. They, neither did you-realize you didn't cross paths on accident."

"You're insane." I nod.

"It's the least I could do after your ghost act."

"But it worked. Like I said it would." I admit.

He chuckles in what I thought to be irony at first but he seemed pissed.

"After all who's the one getting married." I say under my breath not expecting him to hear me.

"I'm always explaining myself to you. So, no comment."

I uncross my arms, closing the front door.

"You want some tea or something?" I ask beginning to feel extremely guilty, not showing it.

"Coffee?"

"Right." I point walking to the kitchen putting water into a pan.

"You don't have a coffee maker?" He asks sitting at the bar.

"I just like making it this way." I shrug.

The stove and sink faces the bar weirdly enough.

I could feel him staring at me. I put my music back on, turning the volume on low as Sevdaliza played. The silence was both comfortable and unbearable.

"How's Harper?" I ask.

"Big, she keeps growing it's depressing." He takes out his phone.
"She's thirteen now."

"No way." He shows me how big she's gotten. "Of course she's a model." I chuckle.

"Yes, she's signed with Gap. She's really smart too, as you've known. Focused on boys right now of course but she's never getting a boyfriend. Unless he's royalty or something." Jacey shrugs.

"So there's nothing to fill you in on since you know it all apparently?" I ask waiting for the water to boil.

"I'd like to hear your point of view." He smiles slightly amused.

"Don't think for a second that's normal. You're basically a stalker."

"Technically not because so wasn't physically following you around like a psycho. I actually had things to do but I could see where you're coming from." He nods.

Though I should be concerned, I couldn't help but like it.

"And you never bothered to contact me?" I ask.

"Goodness you're impossible, you obviously wanted me to leave you alone."

"I know but there's nothing wrong with being friends." I frown.

"I can't be friends with you." He says.

"Sure you can." I chuckle.

"I once loved you too much." He shakes his head.

"No love left?" I frown sarcastically.

He just shrugs, clenching his jaws.

"Sevan looks good." Was the best I could come up with.

"She is good." He smiles. "Trust me I don't know how it happened."

It felt as if my heart was pierced with a burning hot knife...but I smile.

I smile because he's alright.

"You're happy? This has nothing to do with Victor?" I double check.

"Nah, Victor's gone." He states.

"Oh? How do you mean?" I frown.

"Did my mom a favor." He stares intensely at the countertop.

What does that mean?

Did he....

He wouldn't.

Not knowing whether he was joking or not I begin to laugh.

I laugh so hard I hold my stomach bending over.

"Jacey...you...are so funny." I breathe.

Beginning to catch my breath as he's still straight faced.

I clear my throat, turning down the boiling water to prepare his coffee.

"Guess I missed the joke." He nods.

I swallow looking down at the coffee pot.

"Truly I don't even know why I'm over here. At your place." He gets up looking out the window into the pond. "After I donate whatever to that kids place tomorrow I should be on my way." He adjusts his sleeves.

"Creamer?" I ask.

"Yes." He nods.

I add his creamer as he begins slowly walking over to me.

"Sugar?" I ask as he continues inching closer to me, his body now against my backside.

"I'm sure you remember."

My hand is already on the sugar. He puts his hand over mine adding a little of it into his cup.

"What are you doing?" I ask as his breath so close to my neck makes my knees weak.

"I just missed you." He breathes me in.

I struggle but still manage to stir his cup.

I clear my throat, "Here you go." I turn towards him causing the mug to demand distance between us.

"Thank you." He speaks smoothly and confidently.

I nod.
"If you're trying to seduce me it's not going to work."

He frowns ever so slightly as if to say 'what are you talking about'.
"I wasn't...besides I wouldn't even have to try."  He mumbles as he's walking away.

My couch is a big sectional, and the living room itself is designed around conversation pit.

He makes himself comfortable and I make me a cup.

Before I take my seat, I sneak back to my room putting on a tank top and shorts.

No ill intent, it's humid outside and I insist on being one with nature so bad. I almost rely on the wind and ceiling fans for air conditioning.

Saves money.

"So earlier...you mentioned Victor. Why'd you make it sound like you killed the man?" I ask, sitting on the couch. Proper distance away from him.

He scans what I'm wearing before looking me in my eyes. "Your scent is so familiar, it's soothing."

"That's a good thing I hope." I allow him to change the subject.

"You're known for smelling good, you know that." He says. "I didn't kill him, he's in prison." He states in a matter of fact tone.

I didn't realize I'd been tense but my body relaxes.

"Damn."

"Why'd you put that on?" He asks.

I look down.
"It's not like you haven't seen me naked. It's muggy, you're not hot in that suit?"

"I guess I could lose the jacket at least. If you don't mind."

"Go right ahead, you'd be cooling me down with that alone." I admit.

He takes off his jacket and tie before unbuttoning three buttons on his shirt.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't attracted to him more than ever right this second.

I can smell his cologne as he rolls up his sleeves.

He's straight out of a GQ magazine- it's sickening.

I clear my throat, slightly turning my music back up.

Hold on by the Internet begins to play.

"It's odd sometimes I hear this song and think it was our song but I know that's not right." He smirks, shaking his head.

"Nah we had plenty of songs, this one was just a really good one for the mood." I nod.

"Right...that's right." He agrees.

The song releases a thick sexual tension in the air but I try exploring other corners of my mind.

"Are you ok?" He asks.

"Mhm." I nod.

"You seem uncomfortable-."

"I'm good really Jay." I cut him off as he sets his cup in the coffee table.

"Your eyes change color?" He asks whilst getting a closer look.

"I don't really think so." I frown looking into his clear slightly blue eyes.

"Mmm no they're slightly lighter, a bit bigger too." He examines. "Always a sucker for those eyes." He says under his breath.

We stare at one another for a moment before he places his hand on my thigh.

I look down at this, breaking the eye contact. He catches my chin before lifting my face so I look back into his eyes.

My heartbeat races as his hands move up my thighs and rest on my hips.

"I hate you for what you do to me." He says sincerely meaning it.

"For what I do to you?" I retort before he pulls me into his lap and resting his back on the couch.

"You only run from me." He speaks soft almost whispering so close to my lips.

"It was necess-."

"Don't start that shit Rose." He adjusts me only he didn't have to. I could feel just how hard he was already.

"I should get up." I speak low.

"You're free to move." He says sliding his hands off of me.

Get up...

Move...

1...

2...

3...

Go!

I'm not moving an inch.

We're analyzing one another.

He feels me pulsating against him already. The heartbeats are present, emotions adding to the mix.

He's ever so slightly grinding his hips into mine. Chills run over my whole body as my lips part.

He crashes his lips onto mine and I don't fight back.

I can't.
