"What are you doing right now?" I pick up the phone to hear Jacey's voice.

"School." I respond.

"And this just has to be done now or can it wait?" He asks.

"Why?" I frown smiling.

"I want to take you out- somewhere fancy. An official date." He says.

Never in a million years would I ever think me of all people would be asked on a date.

"Nowhere fancy, please don't spend money on me." I wince. I don't like burdening people, just my parents is enough.

"Shh, what did we talk about? Except the fact that I am so in love with you and would spend a billion dollars, Saturn and Jupiter on you."

"We split the bill." I settle.

"Rose-."

"My final offer." I cut him off as he groans.

"You're impossible...I'll pick you up at eight." He speaks defeated.

"Ok." I smile.

"Ok." He says.

"Bye." I chuckle.

"Bye." He laughs a little before hanging up.

I look at the time, it's only three o'clock.

I'll start getting ready around six.

I don't think I'm ever going to get use to this. Actually being in a relationship outside of my head.
I finally had something to tell Kat...

I put my notes away deciding to visit her grave.

The flowers were well kept and I talked to her for what seemed to be hours.

I shower before getting into a bath and after getting out of a bath. It makes so much sense. Maybe I'm overly hygienic?

I just feel like you shouldn't want to sit in your own filth and the shower afterwards just ensures everything is all off.

I blow dry and straighten my curls whilst completing my makeup. Time snuck up on me and multitasking is my best friend.

I did my usual routine. No foundation or concealer just eye makeup, eyeshadow, lightly filled in eyebrows, lipstick blush, lip liner and lip gloss.

Listing this out feels like a lot. I just never looked good with the ideal full face. I just do enough to bring out my eyes.

I put on a black long sleeved lace dress. It hugs my figure just right, leaving my back open. Spritzing on my body sprays and moisturizing with lotion, I look at the time.

7:56

I decide to go with studs this time. Hoops don't fit the level of class I'm giving.

I call Jacey.

"Hey."

"Hey, I'm about to be at the door." He says.

"Wait! Don't ring the doorbell. I'll go out through the back." I ease, putting my heels on.

"Too late." He says as the doorbell rings.

"Shoot-a-nations." Don't ask, I don't know where I got it from.

I brace myself as I hear mom greeting Jacey.
Walking down the stairs, I could feel everyone's eyes on me.

"Ok, what's going on here?" Matt asks, confused.

Thank you?

"I was hoping you could allow me the honor of accompanying your daughter to dinner tonight."

I look at Jacey. Sharp in his black tux, matching me. His hair gelled back, just a strand barely falling on his head. As chemistry has it my body reacts to this.

It doesn't help that he's being such a gentleman to my people.

"Where'd this come from?" Matt frowns, still confused.

"Hon." Mom pats his chest. "Of course you can take her out. You two have fun." She smiles.

"Be back by ten, you touch her or break her heart you have me to deal with. I will rip you apart." Matt says.

"Yes sir." Jacey clears his throat.

"Ok, bye now, go, go." Mom shooed. "I love you baby, drive safe." She says as Jacey takes my hand.

I give Matt a sincere smile as he gives a half smile back. He's grieving, we all are. His uncalled for anger or intensity of moodiness is justified.

"That is why I told you not to announce yourself." I shake my head as he opens my door.

"I wanted the intimidating dad and cool mom. Though I already know your parents. I just wanted them to know, no sneaking around." He explains before starting the car.

I gently smile shaking my head, looking out the window.

"And how am I supposed to concentrate on the road with you looking like this?" He asks, looking at me.

"Corny." I laugh.

"I'm so serious." He chuckles leaning in to kiss me.

My hand rests on the back of his neck as his hand rests on my thigh.

I still didn't know where we were going. Though I'm not as nervous as I thought I would be.

The other day still replays in my head.

How could I still be nervous when we'd done that?

My body shivered reminiscing on the orgasm he so effortlessly gave me.

"What are you thinking about?" He asks as SWV plays in the background.

"Huh?" I ask.

"I can turn the heat up if you're still cold." He says.

"No." I shake my head. "I'm very warm, thank you." I smile.

We pull into a parking garage and park.

"Did I miss the restaurant?" I chuckle as he takes my hand.

We get into an elevator.

"It's long way up." Is all he says pressing the top button.

The elevator starts, once we get above the garage. The thick glass allows you to outlook the entire city.

"Woah." I cling to him both frightened and amazed.

Heights are a borderline fear of mine.

At the top was the restaurant. A skyline view, nice, warm, cozy atmosphere welcomed us.

"Hi, do you guys have reservations?" A server asks.

"Yes, Reed." Jacey answers.

"Right this way." He smiles before we follow.

We sit in a secluded area with the best view.

The city lights reflecting over the big body of water.

I stare in awe at the view, feeling Jacey's eyes on me I try not to want to hide.

"What?" I chuckle.

"You just look so beautiful." He smirks as his eyes darken with something I hadn't recognized before.

"You're one to talk, look at you." I smile at my ill attempt to flirt.

We laugh as the waiter brings the menus.

We order before she brings our drinks.

Jacey clenched his jaws, playing with his silverware. In a trance staring at the table.

"You're anxious." I state. "What's up?"

"Wow, sometimes I feel like we've met before, or am I just that obvious?" He asks.

"A bit of both." I raise an eyebrow.

He smiles before exhaling.
"My father wants me to take over his business."

"Wow! That's great, are you excited? Wait is this a good thing? Not celebration worthy?" I calm myself.

He laughs a little before speaking, "Exciting? Maybe not a good thing, I don't know. I'm interested. Only because this is the few of his businesses I actually like. I could be doing something I enjoy, as well as being my own boss."

"What does the business concern?" I ask sipping my lemonade.

"Justice system, boring kind of. Just managing law firms basically. Though technically I wouldn't be a lawyer, I could still point out bogus lawyers and liars. Spot what my father overlooks, deduct the number of the falsely accused and incarcerated." He explains.

I just admire him. It's nice to see him so passionate. Wanting to be apart of something, being selfless and just.

We could skip dinner now.

"Would I be stupid to take this opportunity?" He asks.

"Are you kidding? It's amazing, a big step into the right path. You're phenomenal for even wanting to help the wronged. You being there is one less money hungry grease monkey and a gain in truth and loyalty." I encourage.

"Money hungry monkey?" He frowns as we look at one another before cracking into laughter.

Our food comes and I stare down at my chicken chipotle crispers, salad, and dinner rolls. It's an overwhelming amount of food but I was starving.
