Gauri stood there holding her breath, without her veil covering her face, her identity was exposed to him. That's one of many things her Uncle Harsh has asked her not to reveal, because doing it would be difficult for her to get back to her normal life and she would become a prey to the enemies.

She doesn't want to coat her hands red, but she wasn't left with a choice, taken how the man was looking at her. As she was about to pull out her weapon from her pocket, she heard his mesmerizing tone.

"Who is that?" The gorgeous man infront of her asked as he tried to feel the space infront of him with his hand.

Only then did she notice the cane in his hand.

He is blind.

Gauri breathed out in relief as she quickly pulled down her veil to cover her face.

"Kalyani, is that you?" He asked as he walked towards her.

"No, it's Ga..Anamika." Gauri answered.

"Anamika?" He frowned.

"I am the new maid here." She explained further.

"Oh, okay." He nodded, "It's either Kalyani or sometimes Mahesh, who comes to my room, so I was confused with the new scent." He explained.

"It's Mukes." Gauri corrected him.

"Huh?"

"His name is Mukes, not Mahesh, you got the name wrong."

"It's MukesH." He said stressing on H, "You got the pronunciation wrong." He pointed out.

"Even I said the same, Mukes."

"Mukesh."

"Mukes."

"Leave it." He huffed as he walked to his study table.

"What is your name?" Gauri asked him, wondering who he is. No one mentioned his presence in Oberoi Mansion to her, not even her Uncle Harsh.

"Why to you want to know?" He asked raising his brow.

For a minute, she found herself getting lost in his beautiful eyes, the way he lifted his brow, no one would say he is a blind man.

"Just wanted to know, since no one mentioned your presence in this mansion." She said and slapped her head. "Sorry."

"Don't worry, I didn't mind your words." He said shaking his head. "I am Omkara Singh Oberoi, and you haven't heard about me, cause unlike others I am a good for nothing blind man, who is just a burden on Uncle Shakti and Aunt Pinky." He said grudgingly.

Gauri stood silently not knowing how to respond.

"Umm... I have to go down, to make dinner." She answered and ran out of the room.

"I was searching for you? Where have you been?" Mukesh asked as he found her in the corridor.

"I was in Omkara Sir's room." She answered.

"Oh, you have met him then." Mukesh asked as he carried the bucket as she took the mop. "Poor soul, ever since he lost his eye sight four years ago, he was holed up in that room, he seldom comes out of it. It's Kalyani, who gives him food and other things he needs." He informed as she nodded silently.

As Gauri laid on her bed in her room that night. Her thoughts wandered to certain long haired man, she met earlier that day.

Omkara Singh Oberoi, Nephew of Shakti Oberoi, after his parents Tej and Jhanvi died in a tragic car accident. He lost his vision, and since then he has been living at the mercy of his Uncle, when he was the rightful heir of the Oberoi Industries. The guy whose existence wasn't valued by anyone, even by her Uncle, who thought he wasn't important enough to let her know.

But there is something about him that intrigued Gauri, she wanted to know more about him, the handsome stranger, Omkara Singh Oberoi. As she tossed and turned in her bed, she watched the Oberoi Mansion, it was dark, just like the people inside it, except for a single light in the second floor.

Gauri didn't get a chance to meet Omkara again, as she got herself busy trying to make her moves towards the accomplishment of the task that she was there for, everything was going smooth until one day when Kalyani fell sick.

"Anamika, could you please give this food to Omkara sir? I feel weak to climb the stairs today." Kalyani, the old maid in her late fifties, requested her.

Gauri knocked on the door, and entered Omkara's room carrying the food tray. As she looked around to find the handsome man, she met a few days ago, she found him standing by the window, facing his back to her.

She set the tray on the table, trying not to startle him.

"What happened to Kalyani, Anamika?" Omkara asked without moving from his position.

"How do you know it wasn't Kalyani, who brought you the food?" Gauri asked in surprise as she placed the tray on the table.

"I may be blind, but my other senses are working perfectly fine. I know it isn't Kalyani, because Kalyani has a musky scent, while you smell like wild flowers, and you are wearing ankles, no one else wears them in OM."

Gauri looked at him in amazement.

"So, what happened to Kalyani?" He repeated the question as he walked towards the table to have his meals.

"She has a pain in her knee, so she wasn't in a condition to climb the stairs." She answered as she observed, how easily he was moving around the room, no one could say he is a blind man.

"She never takes care of herself, even after I ask her to take a leave and visit her home town, to relax and take rest." Omkara sighed.

Gauri waited till he had his food to clear the small table. As he was having his food, she looked around the room, and found various paintings and books in his room.

"You made these paintings?" Gauri asked in awe as she looked at the beautiful painting of a lake amidst of the forest. With an elegant signature of Omkara Singh Oberoi signed in the bottom.

"Yes, it was my hobby." Omkara answered.

"You are so talented." Gauri gushed looking at the paintings.

"Thank you." Omkara smiled hearing her child like excitement. "So, Anamika, how old are you?" He asked.

"I am 21 years old." She answered. "How old are you?" She asked and smacked her head.

She knew her Uncle Harsh would through a fit, if he gets to know that she is chit-chatting with people, instead of doing her work. But she felt like she had to know about this man in front of her.

"I am 26." Omkara answered.

"You don't look like a 26 year old man." Gauri said in awe looking at his young and smooth skin, that made her feel insecure about her own skin.

"I should have taken Rohan seriously, when he asked to put on the sunscreen." Gauri mentally chided herself.

"Do I look old?" Omkara frowned.

"No... no, you look so young and handsome. Much young than a 26 year old." Gauri answered hurriedly trying not to offend him.

"Ah... You are checking me out all the while, aren't you?" Omkara asked with a teasing glint.

"What? No." Gauri frowned.

"Come on, accept it. I can feel your gaze on me." Omkara continued. "Do you have a crush on me or what? Is Kalyani really sick or you just came her making the excuse?" He teased her.

"No..." Gauri almost shouted as she felt her cheeks redden, "I am married, I have a husband." She mumbled.

"Am I that handsome that you forgot your husband and was checking me out?" Omkara chuckled.

"You are making fun of me." Gauri huffed as she narrowed her eyes at him.

"You are so gullible." Omkara laughed out loud.

Gauri looked at him mesmerized as she watched him laugh, he looked like a carefree man, and had a beautiful laugh. His eyes crinkled at the corners, and his hairs fell on his face making him look like an angel. Her heart thudded against her chest, as she realised that she has developed a crush over the man in front of her.

"I should go." Gauri said collecting the dishes and running out of the room.

"Hey girl," Pinky called Gauri as she was working in the kitchen, "why didn't you change the sheets in Abhay's room?"

"I changed them in the morning, Ma'am." Gauri answered.

"Do you think my Abhay will lie to me? You lazy girl, go... go and change the sheets, instead of making excuses." Pinky shouted.

Gauri was changing the sheets in Abhay's room, when she saw Abhay exiting the washroom wearing only his low hanging pyjamas. He stood by the side of the bed watching her change the sheets.

"You look good changing the sheets, I am sure you will look wonderful laying and moaning on those sheets." Abhay commented making Gauri take a sharp breath.

"What say?" He asked walking close to her side, "Satisfy me, and I will give you money and pleasure." He said playing with the string of his pyjama pants.

"I am sorry, Sir. It's not a part of my job." Gauri answered in a straight tone.

"Some side income won't do any harm right? Besides I am sure that without that husband of yours, you would be going through dry spells." Abhay said as he tried to hold Gauri's hand.

"No, I don't want anymore money." She answered.

"Anamika." Mukesh called her from the corridor.

"I have to go." Gauri excused and walked out of the room taking the dirty linen.

"Are you alright?" Mukesh asked looking at her and she nodded.

It is not a new sight for Mukesh to see the spoilt kids.of his owner make advances towards the maids in the mansion. So, he knew what exactly might have occured as he saw Gauri rush out of the room with trembling hands.

"From today, you take care of the things in Kitchen and Second floor. Kalyani will take care of the first floor." Mukesh said as he gestured for Kalyani.

"Kalyani, take the linen from Gauri and see what else does Abhay sir needs and Gauri take the food to Omkara sir." Mukesh instructed and Gauri took the food tray and walked to Omkara's room.

"You are nervous." Omkara stated as Gauri placed the tray on the table.

"How did you know that?" She asked in surpise.

"I can hear you hand shivering, that is causing the cutlery on the tray to make sounds." Omkara explained.

"Hmm." Gauri nodded and placed the tray on the table.

"Do you want to share? About what caused you so much stress and nervousness?" Omkara asked as Gauri began to serve him food.

Gauri contemplated for a few seconds whether or not to share the matter with Omkara.

"It's Abhay sir, he..." Gauri started and a sob escaped her mouth.

Omkara held the glass in a tight grip as he had heard about Abhay's advances towards the maids but hearing it from Gauri made him livid.

Gauri hated to show her weak side to people, the field she was in, she was thought that people who succumb to emotions are weak, but whenever her childhood traumas resurfaced she found it hard to be strong.

"Anamika." Omkara called her softly. "I wish I could be of some help to you." He said sadly.

"You are helping me now, by letting me speak out my emotions." Gauri answered wiping her tears, "Thank you."

"Why don't you take an off today and take rest to take the things off your mind?" Omkara asked.

"Pinky Ma'am won't allow it." Gauri said as she collected the dishes.

"You can relax in my room if you are comfortable." Omkara said, "There are books and table, you can use that."

"Thank you." Gauri said smiling at his hospitality. "I can take up that offer."

"So, you can read?" Omkara asked as he sat across the room making a clay sculpture, as Gauri sat by the table reading, one of the books she borrowed from his mini library.

"Yes, I have studied till fifth grade, post that my family financial condition didn't allow me to continue my studies." Gauri gave the well practiced answer.

"Who all are in your family?" Omkara asked as he felt an enthusiasm to have a conversation.

"My mother and I, my father passed away in my childhood." Gauri answered, "Later I was married, and my husband left to find labour in Gulf country after a month of our marriage, hadn't seen him in past three years."

Omkara nodded.

"My mother wasn't keeping well, so I had to join this job to support my family." She continued further.

"Do you miss your mother?" Omkara asked softly.

"I always do." Gauri answered in a longing tone, growing up in a orphanage she never knew what it feels like to have mother, she always craved for a family. She was fortunate enough to come across her Harshvardhan Sharma, who took her under his wing, and his organisation that trained the best spies in the world. For which she will forever be indebted to him.

"I can feel you, I miss my parents too." Omkara said looking into the space with a forlorn look on his face.

"I am sorry for your loss." Gauri whispered in a soft tone for him to hear.

Omkara nodded as he continued making the sculpture.

"What's your favourite food?" Gauri asked after a few minutes.

Omkara smiled as he realised they are going to have another conversation.
