Joy

Joy is all I felt once I held my baby girl in my arms. She was so precious and tiny I wanted to hold her forever.

"Hi little one, I'm your mama." I cooed.

I looked over at Lorenzo and saw him watching us with his eyes glossed with tears. He came over and stood at the bedside looking down at her.

"She's beautiful,"

"Here, hold her," He seemed hesitant at first and when he held her the biggest smile came to his face.

"Baby Luna," He said after a while.

"Luna? I like it,.... Luna Moretti."

He handed her back to me after a long while and I studied her features a moment before I handed her to the nurse.

"Wait what's going on? Where are they taking her?"

"Relax Enzo, they're just going to clean her up some more and make sure she's okay. She'll be okay don't worry." After a while he nodded.

"How are you feeling?"

"Like I just push out a 7 pound brick, but I'm okay. Just tired."

"You did great amore mio, -"

"Where's my nephew!" Dario came in the room looking around wearing a crisp suit.

"Your nephew is a girl," Lorenzo replied.

"My nephew's a niece!?"

"Wire me my 20 grand now," Alessandro said as him and Maria stepped inside the room. They were both dressed up nice as well.

"You guys made a bet?" I laughed.

"It was a $20 bet at first but this one was so confident he bet $20,000." Ale smirked at a scowling Dario.

"How are you doing Samai?" Maria asked.

"I'm okay just tired, I'm glad that part is over." I paused, "Where's Allison?"

"Not sure, but she should be here soon,"

"We're hereeeeeee!" Chase and Allison stepped in the room looking glammed up from head to toe. Now I was confused.

"Wait, why is everyone so dressed up? Is there an event?"

"Duh, you giving birth. Now where is my godchild?"

"I'm still confused...."

"First impressions matter Mai Mai, catch up. Now where's the little assassin?"

"Assassin?" Enzo questioned.

"Mom's a bounty and dad's mafia." Chase explained like he was saying two plus two equals four. "Surprised the baby didn't come out shooting," I snickered at Chase's words.

"You all dressed up for the baby? That's so cute." I smiled.

"They dragged you into this too?" Enzo asked Ale. That was actually a good question, Ale didn't seem like the type to participate in this.

"I was actually at a business meeting when I got your call,"

"Sureeee he was, Ale got his suited fitted for the occasion. Don't let him fool you, this was really important to him, well important to all of us. This is our first family baby." Dario spoke.

I knew Luna was going to be loved and have lots of fun growing up. If something were to happen to me there wouldn't be a better family that I would feel safe leaving her with. I know she would be protected and cared for.

"Knock knock, your baby girl is here," The nurse brought her straight to me. Everyone looked in awe as they watched her.

"Awe my niece-Dario you owe me 20 grand- she's so precious. Did you guys think of a name yet?"

"Luna Moretti, would you guys like to hold her?"

"Here put this blanket on your shoulder," The nurse gave Allison the blanket.

One by one, Luna got to meet each member of her family. Ale was hesitant like Lorenzo was but he eventually held her. Everyone being here really made the bleak hospital room feel homey.

We asked the nurse to take a big family photo of us. We took some with Ale and Dario pretending to be her bodyguard. We took a few with Allison and Chase pretending to be her fairy godmothers. We took a few with her individually and some off guard ones when one of us were interacting with her.

Liam arrived a little bit late and he was dressed up as well, apparently his dry cleaning didn't get done on time. We took some photos of him and Luna. The entire time, he was giving Allison googly eyes but I don't think she noticed. He would smile all lovingly when he was watching her hold Luna. It was clear that he has a big crush on her. I wonder what he planned on doing about it.

3 weeks later

"Really Chase Gucci? You can get regular things too you know I feel like everything you get her is name brand. I appreciate it though," I thanked him for the things he got for Luna.

"Regular!? Please don't insult my Lulu, Allison's getting the stroller from her car,"

"Let me guess? Gucci?"

"No Fendi, Loo will be riding in style thank you very much."

"I'm hereee," Allison announced and she pushed the stroller through the door. "Hi Samai, I brought gifts."

"I finally got her to sleep, we can probably sneak in a 20 minute nap be she wakes-" Enzo paused once he saw our company. "Chase, Allison it's good that you're here."

"What's up?"

"I've gotten word about your recent activity." Enzo folded in arms. "Allison you should know better, and Chase what did I tell you?"

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Go ahead tell her about this weekend's activity."

"How'd he even know?" Chase asked Allison.

"Eyes and ears everywhere, both a blessing and a curse," She sighs.

"Hello? What is it?" I asked again.

"We roughed up Gabe at the club this weekend,"

"Your ex Gabe?"

"Ew don't call him that,"

"What wait happened?"

"Allison and I were at the club when Gabe and his friends came in acting a fool, I ignored him and continued to have fun with my girl Ally. He saw me, came over with his friends and started telling the same lie he was spreading in college."

"He's still not out?"

"Apparently not. Anyway, he started acting tough in front of his friends and that's when Allison stepped in to intervene. As we walked away they proceeded to yell slurs and hate comments our way. We went to the other club down the block and they appeared there as well, they started up again and that's when Ally pulled out her gun and we whooped their ass, the end."

The story behind Gabe and Chase is that they were in a relationship back at the end of our senior year of college. Gabe didn't want to tell anyone because he wasn't out of the closet yet. When Gabe's friends got suspicious, he proceeded to tell lies saying that Chase was obsessed with him and wouldn't leave him alone. I ended up confronting him without Chase's knowledge I didn't involve guns of course but I did threaten him. Knowing Gabe and his posse, they deserved it.

"Take it from me Lorenzo, I know Gabe and he one thousand percent deserved it, he's a garbage human being." I turned back to Chase to see him smirking at my husband but he quickly wiped it off when I looked at him. "BUT, that doesn't mean you should go around beating, and waving guns in peoples faces." Enzo was now the one smirking at Chase.

I stepped over to Allison to thank her while Chase and Enzo spoke,

"Thank you for being there and helping him out."

"Of course, he's family.

I absolutely loved the relationship that Allison and Chase built. From the day they were introduced they've become two peas in a pod. I'm glad she was able to find a genuine friend here. She confided in me how the friendships she had before she was taken weren't the same. Everyone was different and living different lives. The last thing I want is for her to be by herself with memories of what happened constantly on her mind.

As we continued having conversation the baby monitor started going off. I sighed as it hasn't even been 10 minutes since she fell asleep.

I went to the room and picked her up. I brought her into the living room so she could say hi to everyone. She was crying the entire journey going downstairs. I checked her diapers which didn't need to be changed and even offered her some breast milk which she refused. 

"Hi my niecey wiecey," Allison approached me as I walked over with Luna in hand.

"I don't know what's wrong," I lightly bounced her in my arm.

There were times where she would just continuously cry even though she was fed, changed, burped, cleaned and being held.

"Awe my god baby did we wake you?" Chase came over and held her. She immediately stopped crying once she was in Chase's arm. I stared at her dumbfounded .

"Luna did you just?" My mouth was left open.

The betrayal

"Come on Loo, come see what Auntie Ally and I got you. You like Gucci?" Chase made his way over to the entrance where the gifts were.

I watched as Chase and Allison had Luna, showing her all the gifts. They looked extremely happy to be here with her which warmed my heart. It was touching to see how they lovingly interacted with her.

"Safe to say she gets along with everyone in the family, yes?" I felt Lorenzo's arm around me then a kiss at the top of my head.

"Yea, it does." I leaned into him and wrapped my arms around his torso.
