Destiny is like a tangled ball of steel wires. The more you try to discard the layers the deeper it cuts your palm.

It unfolds itself in miraculous ways... Always remaining unpredictable.

Those sweet words refused to befall on Karma's ears, a ringing sound filling it instead and she froze unable to comprehend day and night when she saw Alaric wrapping his arm around the petite waist of a brunette.

Bile rose her throat when Alaric's lips made contact with her cheek in what was meant to be a kiss.

But those wild honey coloured irises of the woman remained focused searching for something, securing the perimeter from her gaze.

"Karma" and only when Alistair came infront of her, clutching her face in his palm looking at her worriedly she realised that unknown to her crystal pearls were dribbling down her porcelain cheeks.

"That's my sister...... That's my elder sister Violet."

Cassius was guided inside a well furnished cabin maintained with perfect temperatures, neither warm nor too frosty to cause discomfort.

His Son and Violet followed behind. If Cassius trusted one person besides Alaric... It had to be the girl.

She had remained beside his son like a shadow helping to dodge all the accusations thrown his way by protecting him to the best of her abilities.

She believed that his son was a kind human being who was trapped in those circumstances because of the people who hated him and wanted revenge from Cassius by destroying their family name.

With the honour of being one of the best lawyers in states, there was no competition to Violet. If it was not her Cassius and his son would have been rotting in the prison for all their lives but Violet saved them every time presenting such powerful facts and resources that she could not be denied.

Cassius wanted Violet to be his son's wife and Alaric too didn't had any issues with it. Till she blindly followed him, it would be perfectly alright.

Alaric coughed trying to wake his father from the open eyed dream he was fantasizing about. The doors were opened and a man followed by two guards entered, his eyes intensifying on the father son duo.

The trio stood up in respect as Alistair nodded in a calm manner as if his hard was not holding a gun inside his jacket.

"Mr Alessandro, it's our honour meeting you. I am Cassius Lockwood and this is my son Alaric Weston and his girlfriend Violet Develle."

Cassius laced his tone with respect and admiration while the other two people present watched the interaction warily.

To give such privileges and make their name family spotless was not a small favour that can be returned.

It was a task presumably done to establish complete control over their business and Alaric was extremely paranoid...it was as if he could sense the threatning aura trying to diminish his world and cease his existence all together.

"Interesting....." Alistair tilted his head a bit watching the electric blue eyed monster.

The gaze made Alaric uncomfortable in ways he could not decipher... something extremely disturbing seemed to be swirling in the dark depths of his murky irises.

Absolutely worthless

A whore and nothing much.

"Greetings Mr Cassius, kindly have a seat." All of them seated and Alistair comfortably laid back on his emperor chair.

"Sir we wish to thankyou-" Alaric's voice was interrupted by a deep chuckle.

"Thanking me? Now why would you do that Mr Lockwood?"
Alaric clenched his jaw, so the self proclaimed demon wanted him to confess his shameful deeds.

"For clearing my name from the black records...I wish to express my gratitude to you." He replied stiffly.

"No offense Mr Lockwood, I have absolutely no interest in your personal affairs.

I wasn't even going to take up the deal when it was offered to me. Why would I take such up such a painstaking task up to my name...that too for someone I am not even aware of?

You should thank someone else."

By now not only Alaric but Cassius too had lost their calm, their face red in confusion and shame to be shun so quickly by the regal male sitting infront while Violet had her jaw clenched.

"Who is it then? Why are we even here if you are not interested in the deal....after all we did got a personal call from your head office."

"Mr Weston, even though I am not interested in your personal affairs, someone else is....very much infact. And you should thank your girlfriend Violet for that.

Not only as soon as it was known that miss Violet was your girlfriend your name was cleared but also you were given a whole clean chit with a written apology from the legislature.

Karma is very keen to meet you all."

Karma

That name resonated like a temple bell echoing throughout the soul of Violet, an indecipherable emotion coming and passing her passionate eyes in less than a second while Alaric almost vomited blood.

That name.

That single name.

"How can she do that?" Cassius asked in awe.

"Hmmm Karma has her connections so deep that common people cannot even dare to think about that.

She is one of the most influential government officials in Finance ministry of this nation and ofcourse she wished to help Miss Violet struggling with your case from so long as soon as she came to know about it, so here you are.....right infront of me, ready to sign a million dollar deal in just few hours."

"You would give us such a prodigious project to us because of her....why?What is she to you? " Alaric couldn't help but glare at Alistair.

"The money I am dealing with you is not even worth of even one strand of her hair. And to answer your question.... She is my fiance."

Silence enveloped the area as Violet watched Alistair in pure astonishment and while Alaric opened his mouth to utter something but no words seem to come forward.

"Alistair." A euphonious voice resembling Jasmine flowers falling on rippling water with a jingle thrummed the whole atmosphere lively with it's melody, like a nightingale singing in spring with her feathers opened to welcome the valley of lavender flowers, the warmth in her voice soothed the listener.

A slow sweet venom.

Alistair smirked in satisfaction, the displeasure in her voice could not be detected at all. The poison not dripping but filled ever pore of Karma's curvaceous body as she felt Alaric's eyes on herself, following her every move.

Alaric couldn't even recognize the girl looking at Alistair. She couldn't be Karma.

He never remembered her to be this.... enchanting. Forget about that he didn't even remembered her at all.

But her name he could never forget. The eyes that breathed fire when he had seen her the last time. It was just a glance seemingly not even present the next second but there was something..... something very similar to what he saw today in Alistair's eyes.

But the girl infront of him had truly grown.

Golden wisps of hair dribbled down her face, dark locks framing the porcelain doll like features. Blue eyes seem to shine like an emerald....was it completely blue? It was difficult to tell but something was otherworldly about the woman.

Her petite waist drew attention to her curvaceous yet petite figure...perfect in every sense of the world her pouty cherry red lips displayed a shy smile at Alistair....even a blind on the verge of death could see that she truly like him.

She looked at him Alistair like....like she had once looked at him..No,she had never looked at him with all that. What was so special in the man that he could make her get over him and his presence commanded her to not even figure out any other person present than him.

Reality had always been far off from thoughts of a mere human. Infact not only Karma could sense each and every movement of them but could also detect Alistair's wrath brewing inside.

In the ways of world...if one dared to say, Alistair truly was her other half...her soulmate. Just like she could sense the absolute fury behind that calm facade of his... Alistair was able to see how furiously her soul was burning, as sweeter her voice got the more lethal and violent her thought morphed into.

"There is someone you would want to meet baby."

Baby

Alaric watched Karma in hopes that she would refute to him like she did when she was with him but she didn't....but her reaction was exactly opposite...her face flushed with the glow of stars as if the sun itself has dwindled from the skies and it's liquid gold sprinkled across her cheeks.

Karma turned her head, a fake surprise passing through her eyes and spreading to her face watching the trio.

A calm and cold blanket enveloped her overly sweet attitude, wanting them to wish they could see more of it. Her eyes clashed with the rebellious brown ones displaying absolutely no emotions.

"I have missed you so much Violet."

"The feeling is mutual Karma." Alaric felt a sense of pleasure when Violet disregard her completely.

In his eyes the girl can only smile if he wished and cry if he desired that and Karma under his influence made him feel deep dissatisfaction.

Karma seemed to not mind Violet's disregard at all. She was here to fight for Atlanta and she would never back down, just the only problem was how to not get Violet involved....even is Violet hated her.

"My greetings Mr Cassius." Her gaze swiped out to the person she wanted to cut all limbs and feed to dogs.
"Hello Alaric....we meet again"
