°°°

The time Jungkook was staying in the hospital and recovering from his bullet wound, Taehyung was never afar from the male, fuzzing over him whenever Jungkook even dared to move a finger. it was adorable, really.

Taehyung was not only taking care of Jungkook but had also started to manage his business during the time Jungkook was recovering.

It was such a weird sight, to see a petit blond ordering tall, buff men with arms as big as the boy's thigh, around and them actually obeying with respectfully bowed heads, following his orders like obedient puppies.

Maybe because Jungkook had threatened them to never mistreat his boyfriend or maybe because they held huge respect for the one owning their boss' heart.

Who knew.

The doctors and nurses only knew that their famous patient was head over heels for the gorgeous blond who had already proved himself to be as adorable as Jeon Jungkook was speaking of him.

He usually brought small sweets and pastries for his boyfriend to try, but right now, he was none of his usual smiling, laughing self.

No, instead he was crying behind a bodyguard, the head doctor Hyunjin arguing loudly, and very angrily, with Cha Eunwoo who had tried to pay Jungkook a visit in order to apologize to his best friend. Or former best friend now.

Yet he had collided with Taehyung who had not forgiven Eunwoo what he did to him, and precisely to Jungkook by betraying the man's trust, and the blond had immediately started screaming, alerting his two bodyguards who came rushing over to his protection.

"Taehyung-ssi, please take this", his bodyguard, Minseul, offered Taehyung a handkerchief who shakily took it, bottom lip trembling.

"Hyunjin, I want this man out of my sight and forbid him to enter Jungkook's room", Taehyung called out for the doctor, distress making his voice quiver. Eunwoo looked at him like Taehyung had slapped him.

"Taehyung, please, let me talk to him, he's my best friend!", Eunwoo called out desperately but the blond shook his head, hatred lacing in his eyes.

Taehyung was never the one to hate someone so openly, he was never the one to speak ill of anyone.

"You were", Taehyung spat with both, hatred and sadness, "that was before you betrayed my boyfriend and sold me to his fucking father."

"Get the fuck out of my face before I order Minseul to break every fucking bone in your pathetic body", Taehyung spat hatefully.

But time changed everyone and Taehyung had gone through a lot. The only ones he could trust now were Jungkook and his family.

°°°

"Eunwoo was here just now... he wanted to apologize", Taehyung said after entering Jungkook's room, curled around his worried boyfriend after hearing the commotion outside and asking the petit male what was going on.

Jungkook frowned, moving a possessive arm around Taehyung's slim waist in order to press the male closer. He nosed along Taehyung's neck before answering.

"I don't want to see his face, probably not ever again."

Taehyung nodded understanding against his shoulder, nibbling on the exposed skin that was revealed by Jungkook's hospital robe.

"I will not argue with you about him as I am angry myself. It's your decision. But I myself don't want to see him ever again but if you wish to rebuild your friendship, I will not stop you. If he can prove that he regrets what he did to me and to you."

But Jungkook caught Taehyung's chin in his grip, making the smaller look up to him.

"I won't do anything that dissatisfies you, my love."

Taehyung smiled as he was kissed, shuffling around to make himself more comfortable before he started speaking again.

"Speaking of... there is a funeral going to be held for your father. Would you like to attend?", he asked, teeth grazing his bottom lip as he gnawed on it, nervous for Jungkook's answer.

He looked so cute and innocent that Jungkook inwardly cooed. Taehyung had no idea how much in love Jungkook was.

But Jungkook shook his head softly, pressing a kiss to Taehyung's fluffy hair.

"No, my love. There is not a single happy memory bounding me to this man. It's better this way", Jungkook assured Taehyung who nodded in understanding before cuddling closer again.

"I understand your decision. And I'm glad you came to terms with it. Your father does not deserve forgiveness, not from you. Especially not from you because you were the one who got broken. You and your mom."

Tears formed in Jungkook's eyes by the mentioning of his mother. His dear, poor mother, the real victim of the old Jeon. She did not get the justice she deserved.

And for the first time ever, Jungkook allowed himself to grieve his mother's death fully. Enveloped in his lover's arms, he cried for the mother he lost and the family he could've have.

°°°

"Momma, Taehyungie is here! He brought pie and the idiot!" Namjoon's voice echoed through the entrance hall of the Kim mansion. Taehyung threw Jungkook an amused look before laughed softly.

Sohee rushed to her son's aid and welcome, engulfing her baby bear in her arms and pressing a kiss to his cheek. "My wonderful Baby bear, merry christmas", she cooed before turning to Jungkook, eyeing him up and down.

For the past two years of their relationship, Jungkook had to deal with the Kim's mistrust and revenge on what he did to Taehyung. He took it without complaining, he even encouraged them to punish him as he deserved it.

It was still a rough relationship but they slowly came to terms. Still, they referred to him as the 'idiot' which now had a teasing undertone. Taehyung also referred to Jungkook as 'my idiot' but more fondly than his family.

"How's therapy? And your arm? Are you still going to physiotherapy, too?", she interrogated the Mafia leader who had helped his lover out of his jacket. Jungkook smiled at her, freshly dyed black hair curling around his face. He looked happy, relaxed as he offered his mother-in-law a smile.

"It's great, I'm making lots of process. My arm's fine but it's still aching sometimes. I appreciate the concern, Sohee-ssi", he said politely, caressing Taehyung's arm who smiled up to him.

Their dog, Bam, the newest addition to the family, yipped and danced around Taehyung's legs, the puppy attached to their other dog Yeontan who barked shortly at the over-excited puppy like a call to behave.

Sohee frowned, looking Jungkook up and down. "Please, call me mom already, Jeon", she huffed before grabbing her youngest and dragging him away.

Jungkook stilled, Bam's leash still in his hand. He was silent for a moment and no one would notice the tear trailing down his cheek because Sohee had chosen to give him a moment of privacy.

Taehyung took right after her, beautiful with a loving heart. She had been the first one to offer Jungkook a chance and the others slowly took after her. His past actions were certainly not forgotten but they were forgiven.

He had done everything to earn their forgiveness. His therapy went well, Taehyung occasionally joining him, but he had his own therapist to rant to. Both were healing.

It was hard to accept the loss of so many people, Jungkook realized. Because also in a weird way, he had loved his father too. And Eunwoo whom he was now only frankly talking to. He heard he got himself a boyfriend.

Jungkook was blessed to have Taehyung in his life, slowly following his Sweetheart into the living room where the rest of the family was situated.

Seokjin and Yoongi were fussing over their little two-years-old daughter and Namjoon was currently making out with Hoseok while Jimin was playing with Tannie. Bam immediately whined to be let to his elder brother.

Taehyung sat next to his mother and smiled up to Jungkook when he entered the room. Jungkook returned the smile, once again feeling blessed that this golden-haired angel accepted him, gave him a chance.

Yes, this life was good. It was far from perfect and they were still adjusting, but it was way better than it was before.

Jungkook would have never thought life turned out this way, but he was so grateful it did. He never thought he could have a chance of happiness, not with his history and bad behaviors, but there Taehyung was, offering him this chance.

Taehyung was truly an exception. But truly so much more than a tainted dove, Jungkook understood now.

THE END OF TAINTED DOVE

~

This is the happy version of 'Tainted Dove.'  I found it better to give this book two different endings because it deserves both. So do read them both if you want to. Thank you so much for reading and see you in another book of mine<3
