"I only wanted to protect you. Please forgive me, Taehyung. It would destroy me to know that you hate me", Jungkook tried to explain himself but Taehyung didn't want to hear any of it. He was tired of Jungkook's excuses.

"Do you promise to return me to my family when all of this is over?", he asked instead of answering Jungkook, also because he didn't want to. Jungkook was a big meanie. But the silver-haired

"Yes. I will immediately let you go and work for your forgiveness. I made mistakes, I became a man I never wanted to be. I might realized it too late, for us to still have a chance but I still hope you will give me one. I am going to change, not only for you but for myself to"

"Well, that doesn't change anything. You lost the little trust I had for you with this fucking action. Congrats, stupid", Taehyung seethed and demonstratively turned away from Jungkook, staring out of the car window.

In the front, you could hear Eunwoo's choked laughter.

Jungkook pouted but didn't approach his upset doll again. He had done enough, even though he believed his intentions to be good, he went over Taehyung's head again, fucking it up once more. After Taehyung had screamed at him, Jungkook understood.

"I could drive back to your home, Taehyung...", the soft voice startled Taehyung, so unknown to the usual deep timbre of Jungkook's voice. The white Chess Queen turned his head, facing the other. Jungkook looked shy, unsure and resembled more of a kicked puppy who had been scolded by his owner than anyone else.

Suddenly, Taehyung felt a weird rush of sympathy running through his veins. Damn you gentle heart, Taehyung cursed inside his head. Maybe it was morally wrong to believe Jungkook now after everything he did, but Taehyung believed in the good in people.

Plus, from what he had witnessed, and also heard about the old Jeon, Jungkook proved himself to be different: he tried to change but it was also hard to get out of the repetitions of your childhood where your character had been formed and structured. Jungkook grew up with that abusive behavior, he thought of it as real love.

But he slowly seemed to realize that the way he treated Taehyung was wrong and since Taehyung was a kind soul, he allowed himself to answer.

"You said the government knows about my status. How?", he instead demanded to know. If it was true and not just a trick of Jungkook, Taehyung would be damned to risk the safety of his family. Call him crazy, but he would rather then stay with Jungkook who was someone even their government was afraid of.

Plus, if Jungkook was going to get harmed, Taehyung wouldn't lose a loved one.

"I don't know... that's what freaks me out, I made sure to erase every sign of your status so no one could harm you. I thought that I might have a mole in my Mafia", Jungkook replied honestly, obviously bothered by that supposition. That would mean a lot of work.

"But I know that I'm still capable of protecting you", he then assured Taehyung who had furrowed his brows.

"Better than my family? I don't want them in danger" Taehyung gnawed at his bottom lip as he said this. He wanted no harm come upon his family. Even though Jin was also the leader of a Mafia, Taehyung was still himself, fixed on protecting his family like every member, except the dickhead of a father thank you, did and will do. He didn't want to pull Seokjin into this mess even though he knew his eldest brother would help him willingly.

But Taehyung could use Jungkook's power source instead of Seokjin's.

"I can protect you and I can protect your family" Jungkook stated confidently. Taehyung scrunched his nose, a secretive little smile on his face.

"See it as payback for being a butt to me. When you let me go afterwards, you get another plus point" the blond said with a cunning smile before turning back to the window, choosing to ignore Jungkook once more.

He unfortunately missed with whipped smile on the silver-haired man's face.

After they arrived back at Jungkook's headquarter, Taehyung was forbidden to leave the mansion again, for his own safety. To his utter surprise, he was handed a phone with Jungkook allowing him to call his family if he wanted to and inform them about everything.

"We have a deal, doll. I protect you and your family and you stay with me until this whole mess is over", the Mafia leader had said and the blond male had nodded, determined to protect his family from any bad.

So Taehyung had only reached out to his family to inform them that he was unharmed and well. His family, especially Seokjin had demanded to know his location but Taehyung had refused to give them the address.

Entrance to Jungkook playing the bad guy, snatching the phone out of Taehyung's hand and telling Seokjin blatantly he was not going to get any information.

Taehyung was unhappy about that treatment but was also secretly grateful that Jungkook had taken the role of the bad guy instead of Taehyung lying to his recently found brother. It was such a confusing situation for the young blond, he didn't know how to feel.

Jungkook was still his abductor, he was still a big fat meanie but Taehyung shockingly found himself growing sympathetic of the silver-haired Chess King. Taehyung was doomed.

That man was his kidnapper, he had imprisoned him, locked him away and yet here Taehyung was, sympathizing with Jeon Jungkook, the King of Kings, a Mafia boss.

The white Chess Queen was definitely losing his mind. Was this Stockholm Syndrome he had read about? Taehyung didn't know, he didn't know anything anymore.

The gorgeous male only knew that Jungkook had ordered to have Taehyung protected, even ordering guards to tag along when Taehyung wanted to go in the garden. Surprisingly, Jungkook was always busy these days, taking care of the issue with the government.

Taehyung was grateful for it. It saved him from his confusing feelings.

The only one accompanying him occasionally was Eunwoo, sarcastic and pissed Eunwoo who was grumbling under his breath because he was on caretaker duty. Eunwoo didn't want to confess that he liked keeping Taehyung company, the pretty blond was so fun to tease, almost as fun as teasing Jungkook.

Jungkook who tried to keep away from Taehyung as much as possible even if it pained him to do so. He wanted to have his doll close but he knew that was a bad idea. He was bad influence over Taehyung, he was his kidnapper, nothing more.

Plus, Jungkook had made up his mind and had promised Taehyung to set him free after this whole issue was over. He wanted to stick to his plan at all costs.

If he wanted to have Taehyung in the end, he had to.

Unknown to the upcoming danger he put his doll into by leaving him alone in his mansion.
