Eyes on her instead of the road ahead of us, I just couldn't help myself.

I wasn't driving, so it wasn't like I was doing anything dangerous...but staring at Virginia while she chewed on her plump bottom lip in concentration and rolled her neck on her shoulders, flicking dark as night hair behind her exposing that long and slender neck adorned with smooth, caramel skin-

that was definitely dangerous.

She had chosen to drive us back to her father's house since I'd had one beer, but while the alcohol had almost one hundred percent left my body, she wasn't taking any chances, something that I attributed to the fact that her parent's car accident had been caused due to a drunk driver, and she was especially sensitive about those kinds of things.

Flicking on the turn signal, V slowed the car to a stop at the red light, neck craning over to where I had already been staring at her. I couldn't help it, my eyes simply refused to look anywhere else, and I wasn't mad about it.

"You want to listen to something? You can be DJ for the ride."

My mouth quirked up in a half smile, almost wanting to tell her that I preferred her voice to any other's on the radio or music apps I used, but held back before I said something that would embarrass myself. She hadn't come right out and expressed her feelings for me, if she had any at all.

Sure, she'd flirted back, and we had undeniable chemistry, but that was nothing without the two of us actually acting on those elements, and in that moment, the both of us holding our breath in the confined spaces of my car, we definitely hadn't acted on anything. Yet.

"Sure."

Turning the Bluetooth on, I scrolled through a list of a few different songs, briefly considered 'Iris', but considering how that one usually made me tear up like a baby, I decided on the generic top hits playlist and sat back for the remainder of the hour long drive, which we were only about twenty minutes into.

"Oh my god, I love this song," she said, and I noticed it was a James Arthur song, something really depressing about a train wreck. Oh, wait. The song was actually called 'Train Wreck'.

"You love this song? It sounds like something you'd just want to cry to."

"Exactly, that's why its so good. Shh, this is the best part," she said, turning the volume up high and singing along to the chorus, making her voice higher than the man singing and then her voice did some crazy amazing things, dipping and falling so fast it was hard to catch every note, and then I was staring at her in awe as she pumped so much emotion and raw talent into the song until the very end.

"What? That's probably one of my favorite songs, don't judge me," she said, laughing at the expression I knew must've been written all over my face- pure astonishment.

"I wasn't judging, far from it," I said, blinking away the stars from my eyes that had formed just from listening to her voice. It hadn't been that long ago that I'd snuck up on her in her bedroom singing her heart out and it was just like the first time I'd heard her in the gym. No matter how many times I heard that sweet rasp filled with technique and talent, I doubted I'd ever get used to it.

And I wanted to listen to it for the rest of my life...but that was rushing things, faster than the street signs and headlights whipping past us outside my car.

"Can you play another song of his? It's called 'At My Weakest'."

I quickly typed the song in, probably as fast as I'd ever typed in my entire life, and soon the opening notes of the new song filled the speakers of the car.

I didn't think much of it at first, until the lyrics began resonating with me.

Could it be your eyes
Didn't know that I've been
Waitin', waitin' for you
When you're by my side, everything's alright

Crazy, I'm crazy for you Oh, here I go, down that road
Again and again the fool rushin' in
But I can't help when I feel some kind of way

Do you feel the same? 'Cause
I fall, I fall for you
You caught me at my weakest
And I fall for you

Over and over, her voice transcended the heights of what I thought was physically impossible, punching each note with a kind of importance and meaning that I fell into with everything that I had.

It wasn't just the words of the song connecting everything I had felt for her combining into one moment, but the power of her delivery of the music was what made it all so unreal, so effective in forcing me to realize that there was something between the two of us that couldn't be easily dismissed.

I'd never truly believed in 'love at first sight' or even strong feelings at first sight. Attraction? Sure, absolutely, that could be felt on first sight with someone, but the connection that I shared with Virginia after only knowing her for such a short period of time? It was like whenever she was in a room, she was the only person in the room with me, even if my entire team was there, running drills or conditioning or running up and down the court, waving their hands in front of my face.

In retrospect, that might've been bad for my game, had I not wanted to impress the shit out of her. In that aspect, she was the best thing that had ever happened to my game.

Somehow, between the switching songs and singing along with her (very poorly compared to her), me staring at her side profile and gathering up the courage to try and hold her hand that was hung loosely off to the side and on the center console, we'd arrived at her father's house, the lights dark and everyone clearly already asleep.

"This is our stop," she said shyly, and I couldn't help but smile at her being shy after everything we'd already flirted about back at the party.

The interior of the car dark and comfortable, I could feel that magnetism between us begin to stretch and pull, the tension gnawing on my insides to just man up and lean forward like I'd been planning on doing the entire car ride.

Her eyes shimmered brightly in the reflective light of the moon, its white beams shining directly into the windshield and illuminating more than just those big brown eyes slightly slanted at the corners.

Dark lashes framed her eyes, impossibly long and sweeping across sharp, high cheekbones that sculpted her already angular face. A few freckles dotted her face, and when she turned her neck upwards to meet my stare head on, I noticed a bigger mole right underneath the line of her jaw.

It was like we were a force of gravity, like she was the surface and I was being brought back down to land beside her, a force impossible to ignore.

Her teeth snatched her lower lip in between them and I all but groaned out, her too intoxicating sweet vanilla scent mixing with our breaths as we inched together slower, agonizingly slower.

I reached my hand out and palmed the side of her neck, bringing our faces closer while she trembled beneath my touch. Her pulse hammered underneath her soft, silky skin and her eyes stared up at me in a silent question, one that I was more than happy to answer.

Feather soft, my lips touched hers, and it was like I was seeing in color for the first time. Like I was deaf and finally hearing sweet, glorious sound for the first time, only it was her voice that rang through the air that my ears captured.

Like I was tasting, for the first time, the slight tinge of mint that slid off of her lips and onto mine.

Like I was feeling, truly feeling for the first time, because never before had I become so swept up in something as simple as a chaste kiss, not like this before. Never like this.

My head tilted to an angle, and as a sweet sigh floated past her lips and into mine, I wrapped my other hand around her waist, tugging her closer to me until we were only kept apart by the damned center console of my car.

I didn't want to rush things with her, but damn if one taste didn't already have me completely addicted to her.

Fire burned in my veins and turned my heart to ash when the lights flickered outside of her father's house, a sure fire sign that we were close to being caught, but she didn't stop her sweet and beautifully innocent reckless abandon against my lips, so I didn't stop, either.

Hand curled behind her head and wrapping around her hair, I crushed my lips to hers as her hands grew explorative of me, sliding up my arms and leaving chills in their wake while dipping around my front and testing the waters of touching me wherever she wanted.

My muscles clenched as she brushed her hand against the exposed strip of skin of my stomach, and before I knew it my tongue was in her mouth and my teeth against her bottom lip and her voice wasn't letting out those powerful notes I was used to hearing, but deep and husky moans that only urged me on further, mouth leaving hers to trail down her neck that I'd wanted to kiss the moment I saw her with her hair up.

I didn't stop there, though, even as logic tried to crowd out my brain and force me to come up for air- she completely short circuited the logical part of my brain, especially as she was writhing and whimpering underneath my touch.

Nothing could have been more beautiful and sexy all at once, her head lolling to the side in ecstasy as my lips sucked and tugged and nipped at the sensitive skin of her neck, the hollow of her throat, the spot behind her ear where her jaw met her neck.

Her hands were halfway helping me remove my shirt when a car horn sounded, jerking us both out of our own lust filled world.

It was the sound of someone double clicking the lock button on their car, like they wanted us to know they had seen us, but didn't want to directly come up and knock on the window.

I knew I had seen the lights turn on, but I didn't think we'd actually get caught in the driveway like a pair of high schoolers...

Until I remembered that, up until just a few months ago, V was a high schooler...and her dad was my coach.

Did that change how I felt about her? Maybe it should have, but I was only a year and a half older than her and her father...that should've definitely changed things for me. But I couldn't bring myself to care, not when she looked like that...

Stunning, swollen lipped and wide eyed, her hair half disheveled from my fingers in it and small red spots appearing on her neck where I'd gotten a little carried away, she couldn't have been more beautiful if she tried.

Wordless, she stepped out of the car and hurried up the front of the stairs to her dad's house letting me sit in my thoughts to collect myself.

It wasn't until later when I was safely tucked away in the guest house that she finally texted me, and I couldn't have been more relieved when it was evident she didn't want to immediately dismiss what we'd just done.

V: I can't believe we got caught. At least it wasn't my dad.

Me: Well, now that I'm in your guest house and not locked in your basement, what do you say we take a look at that attic tomorrow?

V: Are you always this dirty?

Me: For you? Always.

It was the first time in my entire life that I'd ever fallen asleep with having to take a cold shower before bed, and I wasn't even mad about it.
