(Y/N)'s POV;

I woke up with the sound of my phone ringing. I jumped out of my parents soft and comfortable bed once I remembered Jeff is sleeping in my room. I ran across the hallway to my bedroom, to my phone, unplugged it and answered as I walked out my room.

"Hello?"

"Hello sweetie. It's mom. We just want to know if you are doing
alright, on your own there." I heard my mom said through the phone. I felt a overwhelming joy inside me as I smiled. I haven't heard from my parents in a long time.

"Hey mom. I'm doing ok. How is it going with you and dad?"

"It's been really busy sweetie. We miss you so much."

"I miss you too mom."

"We have to go hunny, we love you!"

"Love you too mom... Bye"

With that, my mom hung up the phone. I really do miss my parents. I looked back in my room to see Jeff stirring. Then he layed still with a soft snore. If I'm going to the carnival I have to wake Jeff up. I can't leave him in my house.

I stood next to the bed and gave Jeff a nudge on the shoulder,"Hey." I whispered. He flinched a bit. "Hey Jeff, wake up." I said and gave him another nudge. He then let out a snort and jerked up. "Huh?" Jeff seemed a bit confused and then his gaze fell on me. "Oh.... Morning." I rolled my eyes and said, "I'm going out today and I don't want you to stay here while I'm gone."

"Where are you going?" He asked, still tired. "I'm going to a carnival to meet up with someone." I answered.

He gave me a puzzled look and furrowed his brows. I gave him a puzzled look in response,
" What?"

"No nothing... " He said and sighed as he layed back on my bed. "Can't I just stay here? " He whined. I don't know why it bothered him. Seriously. "And risking you leaving a mess when I come back? No thanks." I crossed my arms over my chest and held a serious expression. I couldn't help but wonder why he doesn't seemed to kill me. He didn't look at me as he stared at the ceiling. "Fine. But not because you told me to... I'm going to search for a new place to live in while you're gone." He turned his head to look at me. I could see that his eyes are not all white with a black border, but a faded blue colour around the irises. He looked relaxed, even if his voice gave away a hint of irritation.

I then walked to my wardrobe and pull out some clothes. A dark purple, long sleeved shirt. Black tights (not that tight) and boots. After I got my clothes,I went to the bathroom to shower.

After showering and put on my clothes I brushed my teeth and brushed my hair. When I was done, I walked passed my bedroom door and stopped when I saw Jeff, sitting on my bed,
playing with his knife. He noticed my gaze and looked up. "Want some breakfast?" I asked as Jeff lifted a brow. "Y'need to eat though." I suggested.
"Hmmm. Sure." He answered as he spinned his knife and put it in his hoodie pocket.

When we've gone downstairs, I've remembered I still have frozen waffles in the fridge. I can just toast them and add some sirup.

I opened the fridge, took out the frozen waffles, put two in the toaster and waited. I still have time before I have to leave. It's 7:35 AM. It will be enough time for me to eat and walk to the carnival. Luckily the carnival is not that far away and I have some money to spend. I still don't feel comfortable by meeting someone there I don't know of. The waffles popped out of the toaster and I took it to put it on a plate. I didn't think of taking it with a butter knife or something and the waffles burnt my fingers.
"Ah crap!" I whispered and swayed my hand slightly as the burning sensation slowly eased. I then handed Jeff his plate of waffles with the bottle of sirup aside it as he sat by the table. He furrowed his brows again and said," uhh thanks."

"You're welcome", I answered and popped in another two waffles in the toaster.

There was silence for a moment as Jeff poked his waffles with his fork. "Why are you being nice to me?" He asked. I was surprised by his sudden question. I thought about what he asked. I don't know why I'm so nice to him. He could kill me or stab me at any moment. But something about him tells me he won't. I shrugged and turned my attention to the waffles that popped up from the toaster. This time, I used the butter knife to stab the waffle through the top that stuck out of the toaster. I placed it on my plate, put some sirup on when Jeff was done with it, and ate my waffles by the kitchen counter. "Why are you being so nice to me?" I asked taking a bite of my waffle. Jeff froze with a piece of waffle on the fork, half way to his mouth ( he practically was scarfing it down as if he didn't ate anything for days). There was another pause of silence till he shrugged too in response and continued eating his waffles.

After we ate our waffles, I washed the dishes and now it was time to go. Jeff went trough my bedroom window because he said using a door is 'too mainstream'. I grabbed my phone and my money as I made sure everything is closed and locked. I realised I couldn't carry everything in my pant pockets so I grabbed my fanny-pack that I put away in my drawers. I buckled it to my waist on the side. It is a weird fashion but it's not bad. It's alright. I haven't used it in years, because people at school used to make fun of me. Calling me the fanny-pack girl. I put my things in and grabbed the keys as I walked out the front door. I locked the door with the spare key and put it in my fanny-pack as well.

...

It was a nice walk, on my way to the carnival. The sun was shining, but not as warm as the summer season. I followed the
coordination to the carnival and arrived there in no time. I looked at the time on my phone and it was 8:46 AM. I left my house at 7:30 AM. I took my time to get here so I was at the park for a little while on my way for about 20 minutes. I'm early, so that will take me enough time to buy the tickets and find the Funhouse, where I have to meet the mysterious writer of that note.

The que was short to the ticket booth. It didn't took long till I was at the front and bought a fair amount of tickets to enjoy myself and went in. I casually searched for the Funhouse as I enjoyed my stroll. There were a lot of people here, but not too much, so there are enough space to move around and look at where you're actually going. In about 5 minutes I found the Funhouse where I'm supposed to meet them and looked at the time again. 8:58 AM. I'm early, so I'll wait. I took a look of the Funhouse. Not much people are there. There were hardly anyone as I saw three teenagers running out of there.

"That was awesome!" A teenage boy said with his fists in the air, hopping in his spot.

"Yeah...  I guess." The other teenage boy said, while he was on his phone.

"That was the scariest thing I've ever seen in my life!" A teenage girl said, with her voice trembling and her face seemed a bit pale.

I saw the teenagers walk away and looked back at the Funhouse. I figured I don't want to be late so I'll stay here for a minute or two. As soon as I decided I'll stay, i saw a little girl, standing in a dark corner between two game huts across from the Funhouse. I walked closer to take a better look. I heard a faint whimper through the crowd and realised she was crying. "Hey what's wrong?" I asked as I was close to her. She looked up to me and whipped away the remaining tears from her cheeks. "I-I can't find my mommy and daddy." She murmured and I could hear her voice crack. " I'll help you find them. Here. Hold my hand." I said, holding out my hand for her to take. She hasitantly did so and we walked to the nearest guard.
"Excuse me." I said and caught his attention. "Can you help me find this little girl's parents? She got lost."

"Well of course ma'am. I'll- " the guard said, but we're cut off by his sentence when the girl cheered," Mommy! Daddy!"
We both looked at the little girl, running with her little legs with arms wide open. She ran to two adults as I assume we're her parents. Her parent's expressions turned from worry to relief. Her mother was in tears as the little girl's parents held her in their embrace. My heart melted as I saw them reunited. I then realised I had to go back to the Funhouse and checked the time.

9:15 AM

It's too late. But maybe the mysterious writer will still be waiting. Without wasting any time I ran back to the Funhouse and hope they're there.

I arrived at the Funhouse. No one was there. Not even a single person at the game huts. Have I gone the wrong way? Did I miss something? This area was now abandoned. It was odd. I felt my enxiaty grow by the overwhelming silence. It was too quiet.

Then suddenly I felt something tapping my shoulder. I jumped at the sudden feeling and turned around. My eyes widened as I saw the familiar person who is now stanting right in front of me. My heart ached I could feel my stomach churning. I was unsure if I'm imagining this, but I was terribly mistaking.

"Jack?"
