It was foggy in a gloomy forest. I gazed at the trees in front of me, where theres an absence of light. The crowds above me were gray, and there were no sound. That was until I heard something faint. It sounded like people whispering, but it got louder as I was jerked into the darkness, and glided past the thick branches. The whispers got louder as I was traveling. I didn't know where I was traveling to, I don't know why I heard voices. I felt paralyzed and all I could do is stare.

Something caught my attention from a distance. Something was sparkling, as if light shined to a shiny object, reflecting light. As I traveled closer in my paralyzed state, I had a glimpse of a figure near a tree.

Then I abruptly stopped and I felt my limbs sway like a rag doll's as the voices faded away. I became more conscious and dropped to the dry grass. I became aware that it's slightly lighter here and I could see my surroundings more clearly. I took a look at what's in front of me, seeing the figure near a tree. I felt my feet moving forward. I wanted to know what that figure was.

The closer I got, the more I could see what it is, till I stopped. My eyes stretched wide as I realised that it was Jack sitting near the tree. I saw a frown plastered on his face as his gaze was fixed on the object in his hands. I took a glance on what he was staring at, and saw a beautiful, ruby red necklace shaped as an oval. The gold designs looked like golden branches hugging the ruby, as the thin gold chain hung from Jack's hand. I started to notice blood stains on his bandage, to his shirt. He rubbed the ruby with his thumb, as he looked like he was deep in thought. I would see a black substance escape his eye and run down his cheek.

Was he... crying?

I reached to wipe his tear away, but as I placed my hand to his cheek, my hand.... phased through?

I tried to grab his arm, but my hands went right through him. I just can't seem to touch him. I've tried to nudge, or poke him, but no matter what I just fall through. He didn't seem to see me either.

It was like I'm a ghost to him.

Eventually, I gave up and sat next to him in silence. Listening to the rustling leaves in the gust of wind. Jack stood up and walked to the tree. There was a hole that was dug near the it. I stood up and looked into the hole and froze in shock. There was a woman lying in the hole. She wore a beautiful black dress, but its stained with blood. There was a hole in her stomach, but it looked more like multiple stab wounds. What shocked me was that she looked... just like me. She had (h/c ) hair and her face looked very similar to mine.

Jack placed the necklace on her chest, and placed her hands on top of it. I watched as he proceeded to bury the woman, who I would assume is me. Once he's done, he sat back down as his arms hung like ropes. He plucked a feather from his shoulders and gently lay the feather down on the grave.

I heard a sniffle, and I turned my head to look at him. His lips quivered and he lifted his hands to cover his face. I couldn't do anything but stare. I felt hopeless, Iย  candy do anything as I felt my own tears roll down my cheeks.

I sluggishly opened my eyes and took time to adjust my eyes to the light shining in my room as I woke up.

I noticed Jack sitting next to my bed side, smiling. His long arms were crossed on the edge of my bed as he tilted his head.

"Goodmorning Gumdrop" he sang and chuckled.

Morning?!

"Have I been asleep for that long?!" I said in shock.

He giggled and nodded his head,"Hehe I didn't want to bother waking you up. It seemed like you are well rested!"

He placed a hand on my head and ruffled my hair,"By the way, you look so adorable when you sleep"

My cheeks started to heat up. I smiled sheepishly and asked,"Do you really stare at me while I sleep?"

Jack paused a bit and started to stutter. I saw a tint of gray on his cheeks and he was fidgeting with his sleaves,"I- Uh- well... Uhm"

He looked down seemingly embarrassed. I giggled by his reaction as I felt my cheeks burn even more. He stretched out his arms and grabbed me, dragging me into his embrace, off of my bed. We both were holding each other on the floor and he rested his head on mine.

A moment has passed and I remember the dream I had.

"Jack?..."

He hummed,"Hmm?"

"I had a very strange dream."

Jack was curious and wanted to hear about it. I told him the dream in detail.

After I've told him everything and he looked puzzled. His brows were furrowed and he frowned a bit. He raised his hand to his chin, holding his elbow with the other,"Hmmm. That's quite... interesting"

I was curious of what he was thinking about, but before I opened my mouth to ask he said,"Hey, how about we go to the park today! Maybe have some fun?"

I couldn't say no with such a smile. I agreed to go to the park with him. It's nice if we could have an off day, just relaxing and not having to care about much. He waited for me downstairs while I got ready to go out.

***

We took a walk in a nice, sunny day.

We were going to go to the park where I usually hung out, but Jack said he knows another one we could go to. The park he suggested were a bit further, but I don't really mind the walk.

The park we went to were more open and the playground were a bit warn off by the sun, so it didn't look that colorful anymore. There was an absence of people coming to visit the park and there is some people who would just walk by for a morning stroll or to walk their dog. I could guess why Jack picked this place. We both stood there for a bit, till I wore a mischievous grin.

"Tag! You're it!" I tagged Jack and ran to the playground.

He was bewildered at first, but then he chuckled,"HAHA we'll see about that!"

He chased me for a while, dodging the swings I pushed at him, swinging around the frames, climbing and ducking under the climbing frames. I was squealing and laughing.

I knew he was going easy on me, but just when I wanted to look back I felt like I ran into something soft. I bounced off of whatever I ran into and landed on my rear end. Puzzled, I looked up and saw Jack towering over me.

He pat my head,"Hehe Tag, you're it"

After a while of playing, we sat down on the swings. I was so exhausted from running that I needed to sit down, but it was so much fun. I never really had friends, but it was like I was a child again.

My feet were on the ground because of how low the swing was hanging, but Jack had his knees almost to his chest because of how tall he is. "Isn't that a bit uncomfortable?" I asked and he shook his head.

"I got used to this" he smiled.

We sat there in silence, enjoying the peace and fresh air. I wanted to ask him something, but I thought that I might regret it, so it's best not to ask. Maybe the question would remind him of his past...

"Kiddo?" He asked, but he didn't look at me.

"Yes?"

"I have been wondering for some time now.... You probably knew who I am before we met." His smile faded, and he turned his gaze to me.

"Why... aren't you scared of me?" He looked neutral but I could sense that he might've been unsure...

"Why am I not scared of you?" I asked and he confirmed by nodding.

I thought about that question for a bit, looking at the ground.

For knowing him, that he's a Clown that has turned monochrome and slaughters children, betraying them into making them believe he is their friend, feeding poison candy and even making grown ups give in to insanity, enslaving them and giving horrific nightmares. It is safe to say that he isn't good at all, and that he's as demonic as people say of him but....

Something about him made me believe that there's a little something in him...

He was kind to me, he's the first friend I've ever made, he protects me, and he seem to really care about me. He never hurt me once and he's been a loyal friend. It's something that's the total opposite of how he was described to be. And for that, even if it might be some kind of spell, that made me see the gentle and soft side, I don't think I want to change how I think of him. If I had to choose between any other person, I couldn't.

"Jack.." I looked up to him and stared I to his silver orbs.

"When we met, I was a bit frightened and suspicious at first. But as time went by, I've realised how great of a friend you are. I don't know how to explain it, but I see something in you.... something beautiful"

Jack stared at me with shock, but I still continued.

"I don't know why you wanted to be an actual friend to me, but you were the first I ever have. You were kind and loyal, you never hurt me... I don't feel like choosing anyone else over you, because you're the best friend that has ever walked into my life. And I just want to say... Thank you, for everything."

I felt my eyes teared up, as Jack was still staring at me. He didn't look like he had any words to say, but slowly started to smile.

Then he stood up from his swing and lift me up. He pulled me in for another tight hug as my feet were dangling in the air. He rested his head on my shoulder and spun around, giggling.

"I've never cared for anyone this much since I've lost my colors..."

We hugged each other for a long time, till he had to put me down as a pedestrian walked past the park.ย  He rested his hand on my shoulder, and I felt him planting a kiss on the top of my head.

I smiled widely, feeling something in my stomach. My heart was pounding and my cheeks slightly burning.

We went home and we bought some ice cream along the way.

Today was a wonderful day...
